Story
I would like you to meet Bacon, he is a male pit bull. He is not fixed. But he’s housebroken and crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs. He is curious about everything. But also a little shy. He will need some encouragement to over come that. He’s a very energetic and happy puppy. He has never been by himself, he’s always had his litter mate, the little white puppy in the picture, with him.The only thing I found he doesn’t like, is the rain. If you’d like to know more about him or have any questions just email me at debbie(xxx) xxx-xxxx @gmail .com

Story
Meet Harvey SpecterHarvey is a just-over-1-year-old, high-energy, big-hearted dog adopted from Clinton County in May 2025. He has spent the last year on a cattle farm. A Wisdom Panel test from a littermate shows he is about 50% pit bull, with the rest Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd, and his herding instincts are strong.Harvey is sweet, eager to please, and has never shown aggression toward people or dogs. He loves fetch, enjoys lots of affection, and wants to be close to his people. He is up to date on vaccines, is off leash 99% of the time on our supervised property, and lives well with our older dog. He will chase cats, so a cat-free home is best.Harvey is still very much a puppy. He is not aggressive with kids but is very enthusiastic, and our 2- and 4-year-old struggle with his energy. We haven’t been able to give him the exercise and training he deserves, and we want him to have more. He would thrive in an active home with space, structure, and older kids.

Story
9 Month old male Pitty mix Unfortunately we are looking to rehome our pup, Koda, we were told he was a Pitt mix but we don’t t really know much about where he came from. We weren’t ;looking for one but we took him in due to him not getting the care that he needed and we couldn’t know that & turn the other way. We took him in at 7 weeks old with having no shots and barely being fed but he is now fully vaccinated he is not fixed yet! our other dogs are just older and not a big fan of him. He is still a pup so he is still a little hyper, loves to play, loves to sleep and cuddle up next to somebody. He does nibble a little bit when he’s excited but not hard and not aggressive. We hate to have to do this but unfortunately its what’s best for him and our other dogs as well but at least we gave him the care he needed for the time being.

Bandit is 4 years old. Been in a home with elderly people. Is a great lap dog. My wife passed away and I don’t the time to care for him and give him the love and attention he needs to be fair to him. House broke, and up to date on his shots. Has a sensitive stomach but can tolerate cheese, popcorn and potato chips. Okay in the car but just for short trips.

Story
***We are in our temporary location at 3559 State Route 136 in Hillsboro. 💥🦸‍♀️ Calling all heroes… or at least people with couches! 🦸‍♀️💥It’s not every day that the Powerpuff Girls show up in real life—but somehow, Bubbles, Buttercup, and Blossom landed on someone’s property, apparently taking a break from fighting crime. 🕵️‍♀️🐾💗 Blossom is still searching for a place to crash when they’re not out saving the world.🌸 Meet Blossom! 🌸Blossom is a sweet, slightly shy girl with a gentle heart and a goofy side that will make you smile. She can be a little timid, nervous, and unsure at first, but with patience and kindness, she starts to blossom into a wonderful companion. 💕She’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back—right in between a couch potato and a wild child. Whether it’s time for fun or time to relax, Blossom is happy to match the vibe. One thing Blossom is sure about? TREATS! 🍖 She loves any snack you offer and will literally smack her lips in excitement when goodies appear. Food is the way to her heart and helps motivate her to try new things and build confidence.Blossom is still learning to walk on a leash and can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the big world outside, so she’ll do best with someone patient who can help her take life one step at a time. She may also thrive in a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes. 🐶We haven’t seen Blossom with kids, but we imagine she wouldn’t mind having a kid or two in the home.If you’re looking for a sweet, expressive, treat-loving girl with a little goofy charm, Blossom may be the one for you. 🌸🐾These girls are believed to be American Bulldog/Pitbull mix pups (based on looks—we never met the “professors” 👀), and they’re currently around 3–4 months old. They are good with dogs, likely good with kids but bring the kiddos to make sure they can handle their "crime fighting" activity level, and could probably learn to leave the kitties alone. ⚖️ Stats:💙💗 Blossom: 24 lbs🐶 Expected adult size: ~50 lbs (give or take… superheroes come in all sizes!)🩺 Hero Health Checklist:✔️ Vaccinated✔️ Flea & tick treated✔️ Dewormed✔️ Will be spayed & microchipped before adoptionWhether you’re Team 💗 Blossom (the smart, slightly smaller leader type) or Team 💙 Bubbles (the bubbly, lovable goof), you really can’t go wrong here.🏡 Adopt one and become part of their origin story. Because even superheroes need a safe place to nap after a long day of crime fighting. 🐾💤Blossom's adoption fee is $250.She is available for adoption on Saturday May 2 after her spay appointment on Friday. You can come to meet her and put a deposit down on her in the meantime. You can stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Monday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time or put in an application for her on our website www.highlandhumanesociety.org. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption.***We are in our temporary location at 3559 State Route 136 in Hillsboro. We're open Monday through Friday 12-5 pm and Saturday 11-3 pm.
