Story
We foster-failed Beans when he was 3 months old, about a year ago. He is a sweet, snuggly dude who loves people. Beans loves to play fetch almost as much as he loves a cozy snuggle session. Beans is fully crate-trained and house-trained. He must be crated when not supervised (will chew a hole in your pillow or blanket given the opportunity). He knows basic commands and underwent a 3-week balanced training program over the summer. His relationship with our cat is manageable (our cat hates dogs but Beans has always been very interested in her). Hard to say how he would do with other cats. He can get nervous/reactive when exposed to new environments/objects. We are re-homing because of resource guarding w/ our other dog. It’s manageable, and we’ve done a lot of training. But neither dog is living their best life because they can’t be on furniture or have treats or toys around each other. They both have to spend a lot of time in the crate.

Story
Rosey is the sweetest girl! She hails all the way from Arkansas where she was rescued from a hoarding situation. Rosey is a hound mix, believed to be around 1.5 to 2 years old. She is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than to be with her human at all times, whether in their lap or by their side. It would be hard to find a more affectionate and sweet girl. Rosey has moderate cerebellar hypoplasia, which is an underdevelopment of the portion of the brain that coordinates movement. This means that Rosey is very wobbly when she walks and sometimes falls over. We think this makes her extra special. She may get tired on longer walks because it takes her more effort. Rosey also can't do stairs, but she is small enough (around 40 lbs) where she can be carried up and down stairs if needed. Cerebellar hypoplasia is not painful and does not get better or worse. Rosey came to the rescue with some resource guarding issues, which are improving. This stems from her past environment in which the animals needed to fight to be fed. Never has she resource guarded with her foster humans, but she has with other dogs and cats. Outside of feeding time or treat time, she has been friendly with other animals, even cuddling with cats, and has shown no prey drive. Rosey is mostly potty trained and she is fully kennel trained. She can chew out of a wire kennel, so a plastic sided kennel is recommended. She has not been destructive at all when loose in her foster home, only when confined. Rosey is spayed, vaccinated, tested heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Story
We prefer Daisy to be adopted with Duke. This chill duo were abandoned by their previous owner and are estimated to be 4 years old. Desert Willow took them in and immediately fell in love with them because it's impossible not to! Daisy and Duke are the most laid-back pups at the rescue. They are marginally interested in exercise, Duke more so than Daisy, and they enjoy a nice stroll to explore and sniff around. Their ideal activity, however, is cuddling up on the couch and showering you with kisses. They are wonderful with children! As excellent students, they are picking up on their training skills very quickly. They are both described by everyone as being so sweet and gentle. Daisy adores belly rubs, and will happily present her belly to anyone who may rub it! Duke loves beds – oh so much. He is very resourceful and will carry his bed around with him so that it’s always handy for a good nap. They are the perfect pair if you're looking for chill, kissy cuddlers. They offer an instant canine family.... just add you! No cats please. Reach out if you're interested!! Located in: Dane County, WI _____ Desert Willow Ranch and Rescue https://www.desertwillow.org/

Story
Goose & Maverick are spectacular pups. They are kid and dog friendly. They are super snuggly, very smart, and great kissers. They have not met cats. Goose is about 3-4 years old, and Maverick is about 5. Goose has shown his dedication time and time again. When first found, he was on the side of the road with Maverick after Maverick had been hit by a car. While Goose was not injured in this accident, Maverick needed help, and Goose never left his side. Thankfully, Goose has more than enough love to show his dedication to others too!! Goose can be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he adores snuggling right up to you. He is medium energy and a bit more energetic than Maverick. Goose's silly antics are sure to keep a smile on your face! ? Maverick walks into places like he owns them. He has a big smile that lights up the room. He is a social boy and loves getting pets. He is medium energy and enjoys his walks just as much as he enjoys lounging. He is a professional toy inspector and practices his surgical techniques by carefully un-squeaking squeakers. ???? Add these two to your home to instantly complete your family!! Just reach out and we can get the process started for you to meet the boys! Located in: Dane County, WI _____ Desert Willow Ranch and Rescue https://www.desertwillow.org/
