Story
Come meet me and 75+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's Super Adoption Event, Furever Yours! Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm! Meet Riley! Riley is a 7-month-old, 55-lb Great Pyrenees mix that looks like a fluffy white cloud and has the biggest puppy heart. He is still just a pup so he’s growing and will become a big, beautiful gentle giant as he matures. He can be a little nervous around humans at first, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality really shines. Riley loves having another dog in the house and gains a lot of confidence from canine friends—he lights up the moment there’s another pup to play with. He loves his toys and other dogs… basically if it’s playful, Riley is all in! Riley is both food and toy motivated, which is a big help with training. Like many puppies his age, he’s still learning the basics—he’s not crate trained yet and is working on potty training. He’s a bouncy, playful puppy who loves to jump and play, and he’ll thrive with a patient adopter who’s ready to put in the time and consistency that a large-breed puppy will need. With structure, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, Riley is going to grow into the sweetest, most loyal companion—a true gentle giant once he outgrows his puppy energy. If you’re looking for a loving pup with a big heart (and even bigger paws), Riley might be your perfect match. He is being fostered in Edison, NJ and his adoption fee is $500. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."

Story
Come meet me and 75+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's Super Adoption Event, Furever Yours! Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm! Meet Great White, a 2-year-old, 70-lb Great Pyrenees with a big heart, a goofy personality, and the most magnificent feather-duster tail you’ve ever seen. He’s known to his friends as Max, but Great White is his government name. Great White (aka Max) is a lovable, silly boy who truly thrives being near his people. His tail is basically an accessory with its own personality — always wagging, always dramatic, and guaranteed to make you smile. He’s dog-friendly, super smart, and eager to please. He already knows Sit, Paw, and Down, and with his love of routine, he does best when his days have a predictable flow. This handsome fluff is house trained and crate trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. He loves playing with toys, and once he’s settled, you’ll find him happily chewing on a good dog chew or treat. Zoomies in the yard? Absolutely — GW lives for them and would happily spend all day outside if he could. Great White also loves car rides and going on adventures with his foster parents. The moment the car door opens, he jumps right in, ready to go and see the world by your side. GW would do best in a home without cats, but he gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion. Most of all, GW is looking for his forever family — a place where he can be loved, included, and finally settle in for good. If you’re ready for a loyal best friend with a heart of gold and a tail that could double as a luxury broom, Great White (but Max to his people) is ready to meet you! Great White is currently being fostered in Clark, NJ. His adoption fee is $475. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Ivan has that calm, dignified vibe—right up until you realize he’s also a total lovebug who will lean in for snuggles as if it’s the most important appointment on his schedule. Born around December 2020, Ivan is laid back, wonderfully mannered, and so easy on a leash that walking him feels like strolling with an old friend. Treat time? He sits politely like he’s at a fancy restaurant waiting for the bread basket, and he accepts snacks with the kind of grace that makes you question your own table manners. He’s affectionate in the sweetest way and truly embodies “gentle giant” to a T. While he's a magnet for people of all ages, kiddos included, he’s also a social guy who lights up around other dogs. He will need a dog companion in his forever home, because life is simply better with a trusty sidekick to help patrol the yard and report any suspicious leaf activity. Adopt Ivan and you’ll get a handsome, gentle-hearted companion who will happily supervise your life, approve your snack choices, and be the best decision you've made all year. Like the gemstone she’s named after, Opal is gorgeous, with a striking and silky coat that makes her even more irresistible in person. But her real sparkle is in her personality. Opal adores people and warms up quickly, which means you don’t have to work hard to earn her trust—she’s ready to be your bestie right away. Born around December 2022, she’s affectionate in all the best ways—she gives hugs, offers her paw like she’s being polite and charming on purpose, and she’s a world-class cuddler who will happily sit right next to you. She’s the kind of dog who greets you with a full&#226&#128&#145body wag, checks in often just to make sure you’re doing life correctly, and will happily follow you on your extremely important journeys to the kitchen and back. Opal does great with other dogs (both male and female), and will definitely need a dog companion in her forever home. She’s a fun, sweet playmate who fits in easily, and she loves toys—she believes every squeaky toy contains ancient secrets that must be discovered. She’s also smart and curious, so you’ll definitely catch her doing a little investigating, a little playing, and a whole lot of being adorable.
