Story
Mya was 1 year old when we adopted her in 2022. She’s a good Girl. We adopted her for our daughters. With one child heading off to college and one who is crazy busy all the time we just don’t have the time to give Mya the attention she deserves. Mya does just about anything for a treat. She knows how to sit, lay down, target, shake, and many other fun tricks. She is potty trained. She never has an accident inside even when our busy schedules neglect to let her out properly. She loves pets and people. She is great with our girls and loves to run around and play with her stuffy. She doesn’t jump on people or growl. She does bark occasionally but it’s a one time bark to let you know she needs to go potty. We love Mya and we just want to see her go to a good home who will love her as well. Somewhere with a fenced yard she can run and play. A home that will give her lots of love and attention. All the things she used to get here before our lives got so busy.

Story
Come meet me at one of our two Adoption Events this weekend! 💜 Trove Brewing in Burnsville on Saturday, 6/6 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm 💚 Chuck & Don's in Wayzata on Sunday, 6/7 from 11:00am - 1:00pm Age: approximately 1 year Weight: 31lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home. Cat friendly: Yes! Kid friendly: Not tested, but likely fine with respectful children. Potty trained: Yes! Crate trained: Yes! Meet Ricky! He is the sweetest little fluff ball ever. At first he was slow to warm up. He liked being near by but wasn’t super interested in playing or cuddling. Now he loves to chase his foster puppy sister around the yard and chew on treats. He still isn’t too interested in toys, but he loves to be by his people and get lots of pets! Ricky walks well on a leash and knows to go potty outside. He has never had a potty accident in his foster home. He also doesn’t mind car rides. Ricky would love a fenced in yard to play in, but would also do fine going potty on a leash. Ricky has tried to wander so a secure fence or a commitment to using a leash is a must for him! Ricky LOVES treats and takes them very gently. He is still learning basic commands, but based on his love of food, he should pick it up quickly. Ricky lives with a doggie foster brother and sister and a kitty foster brother and sister too. He hasn’t had any issue with any of them! In fact, Ricky requires another dog in the home to help him feel brave and confident while he is adjusting and he looks to other dogs for cues. Additionally, Ricky’s fluffy hair will require regular brushing and grooming to avoid painful mattes. Ricky tolerates brushing well, especially when he gets treats! Ricky hopes to meet you soon! Adoption fee: $595

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Yuki Sex: Female Color: Isabella White Eye Color: Brown Birthday: 11/15/20 Weight: 49lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes, good with new dogs she meets. Does best with male dogs. Small Dog Friendly: So far, she has been good with the few smaller dogs she has met on leash. Cat Friendly: NO - very high prey drive. Crate Trained: Very short periods of time, and only while we are home. Trusted to free roam when we’re not home, but our home is pretty much husky-proof. Has a history of harming herself when crated in her first foster home. Housebroken: Yes, she will let you know when she needs to go out. Energy Level: She has her calm times and long naps, and she also gets zoomies and loves to play rough a few times a day like most huskies. She loves walks and loves to be outside watching squirrels or bunnies in a fenced yard. Reaction to New People: Good with adults and older kids. Working on manners and socialization. Kid Friendly: Older, calmer kids are best for her. Smaller children make her nervous, especially if they get too close too fast. Training: She knows the basics; sits before getting her food dish and is pretty good at coming when called. Could use some better leash manners but has improved. She really wants to meet and play with other friendly dogs on walks. She would likely benefit from some socialization to gain confidence in new/public situations. Like most huskies, she is a runner, so caution by the doors and getting in and out of the car is needed. Grooming Needs: Normal husky coat brushing about once a week or so, more when blowing her coat. She does shed less than other huskies we’ve had, her fur is on the shorter side which helps. Does okay with baths but only needs that once or twice a year. Gets dirty while playing, but the dirt tends to fall off quickly – it’s a husky thing. Fence: Yuki would do best with at least a 4-foot-high fence, 6 feet would be better. She loves to be outside; rain or snow do not bother her much. She hasn’t tried to dig out lately but is a true husky escape artist so should be supervised even with a fence! Solo or Siblings: Yuki would do best with a male dog with lots of energy to match hers in play. Preferably male husky (or other high energy dog) around her age or younger. Once she got comfortable in her foster home, she started being less tolerant of female dogs in the home. We’ve been working on that. She could also do well as a solo dog, with lots of play and attention to get her energy out. From the Foster: Yuki is a sweet, furry little princess who loves attention and belly rubs. She has her relaxation times and has her zoomies and loves to play. She’s a bit shy and hesitant in new situations and would benefit from socialization and group training class. Like a typical husky, she loves to run, climb, jump etc, so may also benefit from joring or agility classes. She loves attention and belly rubs; she will lay on her back and paw at you or reach out to you for more if you stop. She is quite a talker, like many huskies are, and when the neighborhood dogs bark, she howls to join in. She is an all-around adventurous, loving, curious and goofy girl who may be shy and nervous at first, but who settles in fairly quickly to be her true husky self. She would love to have a more mature human or family to experience life with, and to help her learn to enjoy the world

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Name: Jelly Bean Sex: Female Color: Black and White Eye Color: Blue Birthday: Unknown - Vet thinks she is about 3 years old. Weight: 48 lbs Large Dog Friendly: Yes Small Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Would definitely chase. Crate Trained: Yes - LOVES her crate. Knows "Go Pen." Housebroken: Yes Energy Level: High during play sessions, but has a good "off switch," too. Can be a chill office mate. Reaction to New People: Curious, interested, quick to accept affection. Kid Friendly: Yes. Enjoys interactions with kids of all ages, but needs supervision with toddlers due to her enthusiastic play. Training: Knows Pen, Sit. While on leash responds easily to Leave It, On By. Grooming Needs: Extra-long and soft "Wooly Husky" coat. Needs weekly brushing to prevent mats. Fence: Would need a 5-6 foot fence if she were to play off-leash, but she would be happy with leashed potty breaks and a couple of daily walks. Solo or Siblings: Either. Thrives on human attention. From the Foster: Jelly Bean is a creature of pure joy. She lives in a state of perpetual curiosity and happiness. She is content and quiet in her kennel, which is where she eats and sleeps. During the day it is her private retreat with the door open. She will counter-surf if there is food available, and likes to select things to carry in her mouth, but she's never been destructive when left free; just hangs out in the pen or watches out a window. She hops in circles with joy and falls at your feet for pets when her people come home. She is the easiest walking Husky I've every had. Loves to sniff and explore, and wants to walk in front, but her pulls are gentle. Picks up items along her path but gives them up when corrected. Redirects easily from squirrels and rabbits on the path. Potties reliably on leash. She is a proven escape artist who should not ever be off leash outside of a secure enclosure. Adoption Fee: $400 All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis, Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
