Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fallon is a wise, old soul. He is a Lab/Shepherd X with an approx DOB of 1/20/2022. He’s taking in new experiences as if he’s done all this before! Nothing is too urgent, except for meal time! He loves play time with other dogs and older children. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to children under the age of 10 so slow, controlled intros are advised. He has a nose to hunt and playfully enjoys chasing the chipmunks out of their hiding spots around the yard. He's quite an outdoor explorer, never quite ready to come inside. That being said, he quickly learned the underground fence boundaries and is no longer pushing the limits. He is crate trained, but as he gets older he's more and more comfortable outside of his crate and sometimes needs treat motivation to go in on his own. He loves hugs and snuggles and is always open to curling up in an available lap. Fallon is a medical needs dog. He has urinary incontinence, which requires him to wear belly bands at all times. He is on a strong dose of Proin 2x per day and a monthly testosterone injection, which helps some but he will always be a leaky boy. Changing his pads in his belly band a couple times per day is going to be very important to maintaining his hygiene to avoid urine scalding (burning of the skin due to prolonged exposure to urine). Commands he has learned include “sit”, “down”, “inside”, “outside” and “kennel”. He is making progress with stay, wait, stop and come. He has been with Wags & Whiskers since he was about 10 weeks old but as you can imagine it has taken the rescue a while to figure out what was "wrong" with him. He is now finally ready to find his forever family and we are hoping that his anotomical issues won't deter him from finding a home. He really is a sweet boy that will need a special adopter that is home often and willing to work with his leaky faucet Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a Lab X  with a DOB of 10/22/22 (approx. 50lbs). I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my home, but it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.   I would like to mention a few characteristics I have that make me stand out from the doggie crowd. -  I hop like a bunny around the yard. -  I patrol the yard for squirrels, rabbits & cats. No one gets past this girl’s watchful eye. -  I am non-reactive with other dogs – I just want to play with them. -  I have a 4’ 5” vertical jump.  6’ fence is recommended -  I Pounce on tennis balls while I play with them. I like to ride a shotgun when it comes to car rides. They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open.  I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes. I love toys, but I don’t share them with other animals. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony.  I have been known to escape my kennel. Because of this I now have my own “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I am not a fan of the kennel, but I settle down quickly.   I tend to pull on the leash, so my foster mom bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now) and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters.  I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood.  I am still working on potty training.   What kind of home would do best for me: -  Active home that can release my spirited energy and have dog stimulation toys. -  I am food motivated and this works great for training. -  Be patient as I am still young and learning. -  Love me with all your heart as I will do the same.      Are you my forever home?      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Say hello to Silvia. She is an energetic puppy equally ready to play and snuggle, her estimated DOB is 6/5/23. She is still working on house training. But is picking up kennel training well. Does great playing and interacting with other dogs. She is food motivated so needs to be kept on eye on when feeding other animals. Until she learns that it is not her food. She’s currently a little underweight. But we are working on that, and she should grow into a big healthy girl. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kie, or Big Mike as he is affectionately called in his foster home, is a big dog with a big personality! He is listed as a lab/shepherd mix based on what is listed on his rabies certificate, but we are told he is actually a known mix of Boxer and German Shepherd. We have not confirmed that with any DNA test, however. He currently weighs about 65 pounds and is a tall, leggy dog. Big Mike is a young, spunky, and comical dog who is a natural athlete. His foster mom is a runner and he easily keeps up for 6-7 miles at a time and could go much further as he comes home with plenty of gas in the tank. He also adores toys and will self entertain with a good squeaky toy (though he needs toys that are built to last!) or would be happy to engage in a session of tug or fetch. His foster family has two kids who love his enjoyment of toys. Big Mike provides endless giggles as they toss the ball and he happily runs and pounces after it. After a good day, there is no better snuggle bug than Big Mike! He simply wants to be with his people. Big Mike is dog friendly and integrates easily with other dogs of various sizes. He has shown no resource guarding tendencies with dogs or people and generally is quite social with people, though can occasionally get spooked by a hat or hood. He handles vet care and nail trims well and is fully crate trained. He does well with house training, but on occasion has an accident when he is in a new place or overly distracted.  Big Mike is a great dog, but like everyone, he does have some areas to work on. He does live with a cat, but he does not understand why he cannot wrestle, chase and generally pester him. He is not out to do harm, but he needs to learn boundaries with cats. Big Mike is 100% in the teenage stage of life and will need someone who understands this. He is busy, impulsive, and will need to continue to learn boundaries with someone who can continue to give him positive real world experience. Big Mike is capable of jumping a 4 foot chain link fence, though stays contained in his 4 foot wooden fence and isn't a runner. If his yard is fenced, it will need to be wooden or 6 feet tall. Overall, Big Mike is a fantastic, fun, playful pup looking for a home of his own.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Kenai.    My brother Teddy and I live with a great family with three large dogs and a couple of teenagers. I love to play in the backyard and wrestle and chase my brother.      I am currently working on potty training and crate training. Both are going really well. Not perfect, but what you would expect from a puppy. I have all your typical puppy behaviors, the good and the bad, but I’m really working hard to improve. I love treats when I do the right things so that is a huge motivator. I’m getting ready to move in with my new family. I hope it is you!!    Please send in the application and we can meet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tootsie, the goldendoodle with a tale as fluffy as her coat! This little lady had a rocky start, but with a little time and trust, she's blossomed into a loving companion. Well, as long as you're not a kid – they seem to give her the jitters! Tootsie's not one for the limelight; she's more of a backstage kind of pup. Her real passion lies in the company of her furry friends. Yep, Tootsie's all about the pups, not so much the humans. Tootsie's perfect match? A home that's as secure as Fort Knox, complete with a fenced yard over 4 feet tall – no leashes for this lady, thank you very much! She's got a thing about neck pressure; it's just not her style. What else does Tootsie need? A four-legged mentor to show her the ropes, a quiet environment to call her own, and a family who gets her – boundaries and all. If you're thinking of bringing Tootsie home, you'll need more than just love; you'll need a deep understanding of her unique needs. Tootsie's not your average pup, but for the right family, she's the missing piece to the puzzle.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
