Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fallon is a wise, old soul. He is a Lab/Shepherd X with an approx DOB of 1/20/2022. He’s taking in new experiences as if he’s done all this before! Nothing is too urgent, except for meal time! He loves play time with other dogs and older children. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to children under the age of 10 so slow, controlled intros are advised. He has a nose to hunt and playfully enjoys chasing the chipmunks out of their hiding spots around the yard. He's quite an outdoor explorer, never quite ready to come inside. That being said, he quickly learned the underground fence boundaries and is no longer pushing the limits. He is crate trained, but as he gets older he's more and more comfortable outside of his crate and sometimes needs treat motivation to go in on his own. He loves hugs and snuggles and is always open to curling up in an available lap. Fallon is a medical needs dog. He has urinary incontinence, which requires him to wear belly bands at all times. He is on a strong dose of Proin 2x per day and a monthly testosterone injection, which helps some but he will always be a leaky boy. Changing his pads in his belly band a couple times per day is going to be very important to maintaining his hygiene to avoid urine scalding (burning of the skin due to prolonged exposure to urine). Commands he has learned include “sit”, “down”, “inside”, “outside” and “kennel”. He is making progress with stay, wait, stop and come. He has been with Wags & Whiskers since he was about 10 weeks old but as you can imagine it has taken the rescue a while to figure out what was "wrong" with him. He is now finally ready to find his forever family and we are hoping that his anotomical issues won't deter him from finding a home. He really is a sweet boy that will need a special adopter that is home often and willing to work with his leaky faucet Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a 8 mo old lab mix,  spayed Female, DOB 10/22/22, 35 lbs and stand 20” at the shoulders. I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my house. But, actually it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.   I am a sweet girl of 8 months. However, I do have a few issues I need to mention: I have resource guarding with toys, balls & bones with other animals ONLY and NOT with humans. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony.  I just think the toys are mine and no one else. Lastly, I am NOT a fan of the kennel and am very crafty on escaping the bar like jail that my foster mom puts me in. Because of this I now have my own   “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I do bark at first when my foster mom leaves me but I settle down. Meanwhile, I’m taking a calming chew daily. Therefore, there are no shared walls for this girl.  A girl my age must be in athletic shape to jump / climb gates & fences, which by the way, I’m quite the pro. So, a tall fence or a tie out is recommended. Car rides may be a bit of a challenge as I like to ride a shotgun but then go back and forth.  They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I chew only on approved doggie toys when my foster mom is around such as stuffed animals, bones, and tennis balls. I have been known to chew items that are NOT doggie approved, so close supervision is recommended remember I’m still a puppy.  You may throw a tennis ball or two and perhaps I’ll drop one near your feet. But that may be a 50/ 50 shot and I do think for my age that’s pretty good odds.  I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open.  I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes.   My Foster mom is teaching me to walk on a leash without pulling her down the block, she bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now)  and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters.  I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood. I'm learning not to jump on people or tables. I'm getting better but this will take time as I just get excited and I want to investigate.  Potty training is a hit and miss, I go outside for the most part, but I don't always tell my foster mom  I have to go potty. She has to look for ques and body language. This will take time as well, but slowly, I'm getting it.  My foster mom says I'm a diamond in the rough, just a  few polishes here and there... I will be a good dog for someone.  Don’t underestimate my petite size as I can win you over with my cute wrinkled face. I should mention some of my GOOD qualities:  I just love belly rubs and scratches behind my ears. I do lick your face in pure enjoyment as I know I will be getting a scratch here and there in return.  I love sleeping in bed but only for a short time. I have NO reaction to barking dogs, vacuum cleaner or even the lawn mower. Just mow the lawn and I will follow behind you. I will do well with a family who may want to explore agility classes or even daily running.  I love playing with my foster brother and I’m a good girl for a 8-month-old for the most part. But I do sometimes get the zoomies and do circles around my foster brother.  (He gives me a funny look) I’ve been trained to lay down when there is any human food around, NO begging is allowed in this household. I do require some kind of exercise, either walking or running and I prefer a 5-6’ fenced yard.   NO cats for this girl!  Here is the reason why - If you have a squirrel, bird or rodent issue, NO problem I stalk quietly at first --then chase them away for you.   I get along with dogs of any size and kids. What more can you ask for? I would love a family who can do activities with me (this keeps my mind sharp) and I can chill at the same time. I will probably be approx  50 lbs, medium energy level when fully grown.   Are you my forever home?   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Fin (Finley)! He is a lab mix and is 1.5 years old with birth date of 6/8/2022. He is an all-around perfect dog and will make a great addition for a family that is looking for an easy and loving dog! He is potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands (sit, shake, and wait/stay), and has the sweetest demeanor. Fin is good with kids, dogs, and cats. Fin has been very respectful to his foster family’s resident cats and 10 month old baby. Fin loves to play fetch with a ball or stick and to go for walks. When hanging out in the house, entertains himself with his toys and especially loves his stuffed animals. Fin sleeps in his crate at night and is crated when home alone. He does great while crated and knows it is his personal area often putting himself to bed at night when tired. He has also free roamed the house for short periods and did great! Fin is looking for a family that will let him cuddle and throw his ball. He loves getting pets and wants to be loved on. Because he is so easy going and good with all, he will fit easily into any home! Fin cannot wait to meet you! Story
Sam is the sweetest, most relaxed dog we've ever known. He loves lounging on the couch, soaking up the sunspots in the living room, or just being near his people. He almost never barks inside, is well-behaved, patient (except at dinner time), and has a laid back disposition. Even at 8 years old he still has his puppy speed and loves running after bunnies and squirrels in our yard. He chases after our cat around the house at times but then snuggles up to her when he thinks we're not looking. We recently had a baby and can tell that he thinks of her more as a toy than a companion and it’s easy to understand his confusion and frustration. We just don’t want to take any chances so unfortunately, with a heavy heart, we’re in search of a new home for our sweet boy. Sam would do well in a calm environment and with an owner or owners who are home often or work remotely. We want him to be safe, loved, and appreciated in a home where he can live out the rest of his years in peace and happiness!

Story
Meet Morgan! This fun gal is playful, goofy, affectionate, outgoing, smart, and eager to please! She would love to live with a doggy brother or sister, as Morgan loves wrestling with bigger dogs who don’t mind her rough-and-tumble play style. A dog sibling isn’t a must-have, however, as long as she has plenty of opportunity for exercise, mental stimulation and doggie playdates! In addition to playing with larger dogs Morgan enjoys going for walks, chewing on bones, destroying any plush toy she can get her paws on, rolling in the grass, and sunbathing. She doesn't like baths or loud noises, but really, who does? Morgan has a relatively high prey-drive, so a home with small critters and smaller dogs is a no no. Morgan is a great work-from home buddy and will mellow-out when it’s time to work- napping or playing with her toys. When work is over, she’s ready for action! Morgan is crate-trained and nearly completely housetrained (a few accidents here and there) when provided regular time outside. She’s food-motivated and catches on to training quickly: Morgan knows “sit” and “down,” and is eager to learn more! Morgan spent a significant portion of her adolescence in a shelter, and she’s still learning to control some excited behaviors (jumping up and playful mouthing). She’s a happy, energetic dog, and sometimes Morgan isn’t sure how to channel her energy. As with any young dog, Morgan will thrive with boundaries, structure, and routine. She would love for someone to take over and show her how to be her best self through continued work on obedience training and manners. Morgan truly is the apple of our eyes; a diamond in the sea of black dogs. Black dogs are historically the hardest dogs to get adopted. We don’t know if it’s because they blend in, are “ordinary,” or just simply not “unique enough” to those who are ready to add to their family. But the truth is, there’s something special about Morgan. If you’re looking to add to your pack with an adventure buddy that will keep you smiling, look no further than Morgan. She’s got nothing but love to give and puppy-dog-eyes to melt your heart. She can’t wait to meet you! If you would like to meet Morgan, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Buffy is a bit of a reserved girl to start but once she knows and trusts you be prepared to showered in love. Buffy is crate and potty trained. She hasn’t had a single accident in the house- impressive for a young pup! Buffy lives with children and 2 other dogs and she is truly the perfect family dog. She is a champion snuggler- you’ll often find her curled up next to human or canine sibling. An expert ball chaser- still working on the retrieving part! And a perfect playmate- following the cues of the others. Buffy loves walks and is working on basic commands. She is food motivated and eager to please her people. Buffy has not met any cats but would likely be just fine with a feline sibling. What is Buffy working on? The puppy basics of course! In addition to these Buffy is also working on continuing to explore her new world- meeting new people and going new places! She is learning that she doesn’t have to be afraid and that her humans will set her up to succeed in new situations. Meet Skye- Skye is a half and half mix of spunky and sweet! She will wrestle with her 40lb foster brother one minute, and crawl up and give you kisses the next. She loves playing with every dog she  mets, and has done wonderful- thus greta with dogs!  Skye also loves humans and can't wait to greet everyone she sees with butt wiggles and kisses.   She will curl up at your feet for a nap and she gives tons of puppy kisses. Skye almost has potty training down, but she plays so hard and drinks so much water sometimes she forgets. Frequent visits to the lawn do the trick! She sleeps all night in her crate and does great during crate breaks during the day as well. Skye is curious and smart.  She is very interested in everything her humans are doing and is learning to wait. Skye is learning her house manners and basic commands. Story
If you’re looking for your new best friend in life - Hi, I’m right here! I have the biggest heart and love my humans. I’m obviously the very best girl - completely house trained, kennel trained, obedient, and a good listener. I love when my foster mom grabs my leash for a walk, I wiggle my butt in excitement and appreciation! I’m a great leash walker so I love our walk times. I do require a fence yard though for all my zoomies and for potty times - I haven’t quite learned to do that on a leash yet. Did I tell you how smart I am? I would love continued training classes. I LOVE food and I’m told you get a lot of treats for learning new tricks! So far I’m doing great with the dog savvy cat in my foster home - he’s the boss and I know that. I’m working super hard on socializing with new people. Loud noises and people quickly approaching scare me a bit at first but my foster parents are there to assure me I’m ok. I do great watching people pass from a distance though! That being said, I don’t think little humans are in my future. But doggo siblings could be in my future! I’m a very submissive and sweet girl with my doggo friends. I match playful energies as well as being calm when appropriate. If you’re looking for the very best, chilliest girl please fill out an application! I would love to meet you! If you would like to meet Olive, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.
