You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kie, or Big Mike as he is affectionately called in his foster home, is a big dog with a big personality! He is listed as a lab/shepherd mix based on what is listed on his rabies certificate, but we are told he is actually a known mix of Boxer and German Shepherd. We have not confirmed that with any DNA test, however. He currently weighs about 65 pounds, but at only about 1 year old, we expect him to fill out as he matures. If there is one word to describe Big Mike it would be comical. He is a fun, playful and happy dog. If play is involved, Big Mike is there. His current fosters enjoy tossing him a tennis ball as he enjoys a good game of fetch. Really, he just enjoys toys of all kinds and hopes his forever home has a good supply of toys for him to chew, chase, and tug. He also really enjoys dog friends and happily engages in play with them too. At the end of a fun day, Big Mike enjoys a good snuggle session. He knows he is called Big Mike, but he says nobody is ever too big to be considered a lap dog. Big Mike currently lives with other dogs, kids (ages 4 and 7), and cats. He is still very much a teenager and learning boundaries so prospective homes should have patience as he learns and matures. He is learning to disengage from the cat as he sees the cat like he sees most other things - something to play with. He also still has puppy tendencies with jumping and occasional mouthing. Big Mike is fully crate trained and is good with house training. He is learning appropriate leash manners and impulse control. He has done well for vet care and nail trimming. Big Mike is looking for someone who enjoys big, active dogs and will continue appropriate socialization and training.
