Story
Meet Davie! Davie didn’t come from the best situation where he was properly socialized so we are working on building up his confidence and having him learn all about being a dog! Davie depends on other dogs to guide him the way as Davie has limited vision. He can see a little and will learn his surroundings very quickly, so a confident dog friendly dog is needed for Davie to succeed in life. Davie is looking for a patient owner who is willing to spend time with him and help him learn. He is very sweet once he learns his environment. He plays with other dogs very well! Davie came into PAR terrified of life, but he is making big baby steps and is getting more confident every day! Davie is a 9 month old Aussie/Hound/Boxer mix that is 60 lbs., neutered, and up to date on vet care. Davie’s adoption comes with 2 sponsored training sessions with a certified dog trainer within a 25 mile radius of Lapeer. To meet this handsome boy, please fill out our application for preapproval at the following link and then we can set up a meet and greet at your convenience. https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html PAR does have open hours to the public from 10am to 1pm on Saturday’s if you’d like to come meet the dogs.

Story
Meet Pigeon, a truly affectionate and playful girl who is looking for her second chance at a forever home. This sweet and smart dog is a people-pleaser through and through and will fill your life with love and laughter. Pigeon is the perfect mix of athletic and cuddly. She enjoys her daily walks and is a pro at fetch, always ready for some zoomies in a fenced yard. But she also loves nothing more than to curl up on the couch and snuggle. Pigeon is a pro at giving kisses and will convince you that she's a lap dog in no time! Pigeon had found her dream home and was living a wonderful life until tragedy struck, and her beloved owner passed away. She is now back and hoping to find a new family to shower with love and loyalty. Pigeon thrives as the only pet so that she can have all the attention to herself, and she promises to give it right back! With her friendly and easygoing nature, Pigeon is sure to fit right into her new family. She is house-trained and crate-trained, making the transition into your home a smooth one. All she needs now is your love and a cozy spot on the couch! Pigeon is up to date on her vaccines, monthly prevention, and is spayed. She would do best in a home with teenagers or adult only home as Pigeon does tend to get mouthy when she plays. Help us keep the promise made to Pigeon's previous owner and give this wonderful girl the loving home she deserves. Fill out an application today and get ready to welcome Pigeon into your heart! https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet Diane, the affectionate and playful pup who's sure to make you laugh! This smart girl is a fast learner and keeps her living space tidy (a rare find!). She loves nothing more than a good car ride, fun sniff walks, and interesting enrichment activities to keep her mind busy. Diane is a real social butterfly and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those that can keep up with her playful roughhousing! She's a true love bug, always ready to give kisses and cuddles, and will be a loyal and funny companion. Diane is best suited for a home with older children, as she loves the calm energy and can give her full attention to her humans. She is a Shepherd mix that is approximately 3 1/2 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly prevention. We are unsure about cats at this time. Could you be the one to offer Diane her forever home and endless love? Story
Meet Cache! SEE STRAYCATION UPDATE! This one-year-old collie mix is about as charming as they come! He's 50 pounds and could be the snuggle buddy you've been searching for! Before arriving at GLDR, Cache spent some time in a foster home where he was an excellent house guest. He got along very well with the other pup in the home and would make a wonderful pal for your family fur baby! He's already crate-trained and is good on his leash as well. Cache is a gentle boy who is most motivated by affection. He appreciates a nice chest rub and will lean in close to show his appreciation for the attention. If you let him, he'll happily park himself right on your lap to soak all the love you have to give. Cache is also food-motivated and will sit nicely for his tasty treats. Based on our evaluation, we feel Cache will do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. We feel he has the potential to live in a home with other animals as he did so in his past foster home. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our congenial Cache!

Story
Meet Nancy! THRIVING IN FOSTER! SEE UPDATES BELOW! With ears any pup would envy, this 11-month-old mixed breed baby is 50 pounds and is in desperate need of a dedicated home with another puppy pal to make her life complete! Nancy enjoyed some time away in a wonderful foster home! She loved hanging out with her fur sister and would thrive in a home with another furry pal. She also lived with a cat and did well with her. She finds comfort with other dogs and would love to be the newest member of your family! Nancy is crate-trained and on her way to being house-trained as well! She enjoys all sorts of toys and treats. Her foster mom was able to take away food/toys with no issue. As she is still a young lady, Nancy will benefit from daily exercise and continued training. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding while she acclimates to life in her new home. We promise you she will repay your kindness for years to come! At the end of the day, she sleeps quietly through the night. Based on our current evaluation, Nancy will do best in an active, but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She will need to go to a home with another dog who can show her the ropes and help build her confidence. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you'd like the chance to show Nancy just how good life can be, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for this submissive sweetheart!
