Story
Our Lady Lou.. This amazingly adorable and super social girl is looking for her retirement home. Lady has lost everything in life 💔 When we first met her at DAC, she was sooo shut down — shaking uncontrollably and clearly completely heartbroken after losing her familiar person, her dad, and ending up at the shelter. Since then, our sweet girl has also lost the sister she came into the shelter with and was deeply bonded to. But somehow… despite all of that loss, Lady’s pure heart still knows nothing but love 🥹❤️ Lady is incredibly social with other dogs and absolutely should have a forever home with canine friends. She’s a huge cuddle bug, a tiny bit of a bed hog 😂, and overall one of the easiest and sweetest foster dogs we’ve ever had. She’s potty trained, does not require a crate when left alone, and truly just wants a soft couch, some furry friends, and humans to love. She’s believed to be about 10 years young and we’re hoping she still has many beautiful years ahead of her 🐾 Could you be her soft place to land? Story
Meet Violet! Two different ears. One whole heart. Violet clearly couldn't decide which of her parent's ears she liked more — so she kept one of each, and honestly? We think she made the right call. One ear looks like a Beagle ear and the other is completey different and has a mind of its own. Pair that with her little grumpy underbite (which is arguably the cutest thing on the planet), and this pint-sized girl is basically walking around as a living, breathing work of art. Violet isn't just a pretty face — this girl has PERSONALITY. She's funny, playful, and has recently discovered that snuggling with her person is, in fact, the best thing ever. She came in a little shy, but it turns out Violet just needed to know she was safe. Now that she does? Her sparkly, silly self is on full display, and she's ready to charm every single person she meets. Violet loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine bestie to help boost her confidence even more. She's wonderful with kids, does great in her crate, and is knocking potty training out of the park. Cats are still TBD, but we don't anticipate any drama there. This little girl has been through enough — now she's ready for her forever family to love her, keep her safe, and appreciate her deeply iconic ear situation. ✨ The Details ✨ ✅ Spayed ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Microchipped ✅ Fecal tested ✅ Dog, cat & kid friendly ✅ 22lbs ✅ 5 months old ✅ Potty trained & crate trained Adoption Fee: $350 Apply here: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster... Story
Meet Indi 🤍 This 50 lb pittie mix has quite the story — rescued from the streets and already proving he’s nothing but love. Indi is the definition of a happy, resilient boy who’s ready to leave his past behind and soak up everything a real home has to offer. Indi is suuuuper friendly with people and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. He’s playful, cuddly, and always down to share his toys (no guarding here!). He’s done great with dog meets so far and seems to enjoy having buddies around. Whether it’s playtime, couch snuggles, or cruising on a golf cart, Indi is just happy to be included. He’s doing well with potty breaks on a lead and is learning the ropes of leash walking and basic commands like “sit.” He’s a smart boy and eager to please — he just needs someone willing to keep guiding him. Indi may have a bit of a mischievous streak (one time he jumped the fence.. but not in a houdini way just in a stood at the other side of it looking confused and wondering how to get back), so a secure yard or supervised outdoor time will be important for him. He also has an old eye injury that left him unable to see out of one eye, but don’t let that fool you — it doesn’t slow him down one bit. Indi lives life full speed ahead with nothing but joy. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, resilient companion who will love you with his whole heart, Indi is your guy 🧡 Apply here! https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
She was chained outside in Detroit — tangled between overgrown trees, no shade, no warmth, no straw. That was Midge's life before rescue. But it wasn't until our friends The Karens saw her photo on Facebook and reached out with their own pictures and proof of her past that we truly understood everything this little girl had survived. We don't know how she went from that chain to a shelter, but what we do know is this: Midge is safe now, and she will never have to live that life again. Even after rescue, the road hasn't been easy. Midge has gone through heartworm treatment while under our care, and yet — through all of it — she is wiggly, happy, and full of heart. Midge is pint-sized (just 41 lbs.) and is discovering what it means to be truly loved, and she is blossoming more every single day. At 2–3 years old, she's past the puppy chaos but still young enough for years of adventures ahead. A low-key cuddle enthusiast, Midge would rather lounge on the couch with you than run a marathon. She's thriving in her foster home with canine siblings, has mastered "sit," and is fully potty trained and crate trained. Midge is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and the perfect little house hippo — quiet, cuddly, and content to spend the whole day by your side. She is a perfect little lady, with a perfect little pout. Please apply to give Midge the forever home she has always deserved. A few things to know about Midge: *2–3 years old, 41 lbs. of pure sweetness *Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped *Dog, Cat and Kid Friendly *Low energy, high cuddles *Knows "SIT" and eager to please *Potty Trained Apply here https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Dolly: Part Explorer, Part Genius, Full-Time Sweetheart If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts brains, beauty, and adventure buddy, Dolly would like to move in already. Dolly is the kind of puppy who likes to figure things out for herself. She's independent, confident, and incredibly smart. While some puppies charge into every situation without a second thought, Dolly prefers to take a moment, assess the situation, and then confidently dive in once she's comfortable. She's curious about the world and always ready to investigate whatever exciting thing is happening next. Dolly is already proving she's ahead of the curve. She's crate trained and will often put herself down for naps in her crate with the door wide open. That's right—while other puppies are busy arguing with their bedtime, Dolly is voluntarily tucking herself in. We don't know where she learned such responsible behavior, but we're impressed. Dolly is very close to being potty trained and already lets you know when she needs to go outside by barking at you. She'd likely pick up bell training in record time because this girl is eager to learn and eager to please. When it comes to fun, Dolly loves playing with her doggy housemates and would happily spend part of her day wrestling, chasing, and making puppy memories. She has a medium energy level and would make a great companion for walks, hikes, adventures, or simply exploring the backyard. Once she's had her fun, she can settle down and relax with her people. She's wonderful in the car, typically curling up for a nap within about 15 minutes of hitting the road. Future road trip buddy? Absolutely. Dolly is friendly and outgoing with new people and hasn't met a stranger she didn't want to greet. She can be a little bossy with other dogs at times and may test boundaries, but she's very responsive and willing to listen. Like many smart puppies, she's figuring out the rules of life and does best with consistent boundaries and continued confidence-building. She's also learning that sharing is caring. Continued positive reinforcement and structure will help her keep building good habits. In summary, Dolly is: ✔️ Crate trained ✔️ Nearly potty trained ✔️ Smart as a whip ✔️ Friendly and social ✔️ Adventure-ready ✔️ Great in the car ✔️ Sweet, playful, and eager to learn If you're looking for a puppy who has the confidence to take on the world, and the sweetness to steal your heart, Dolly is ready to pack her toys and move in. Dolly is 13 weeks old, spayed, utd on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and fecal tested. Apply here: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Ripley: The Tiny, Fearless Chaos Coordinator If you've ever wondered what would happen if a sheepdog, a comedian, and a squeaky chicken toy were combined into one adorable package, allow us to introduce you to Ripley. Ripley is 100% blind, 100% deaf, and approximately 1,000% convinced she can do anything. And to be honest? She's usually right. Ripley navigates her world entirely through her nose, her touch cues, and sheer determination. She knows commands like sit, touch, paw, and wait through hand-on touch signals, proving every day that being blind and deaf doesn't stop her from learning, loving, and living life to the fullest. Ripley is an active girl who loves running, exploring new scents, and showing off her surprisingly strong herding instincts. She'd probably volunteer to organize your household if she could. She's also a professional shoe thief—not because she destroys them, but because footwear belongs in her personal collection. When playtime is over, Ripley transforms into a world-class cuddle bug. She loves being close to her people and happily follows them from room to room, making sure no snack is eaten without proper supervision. She is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash and is treat motivated. Because Ripley can't see or hear, regular potty breaks help her stay successful with house training. Ripley absolutely adores other dogs, loves kids, and has never met a stranger she didn't want to be friends with. Cats, however, are a different story. She is completely obsessed with them and would happily spend her entire day chasing and "managing" them, so a cat-free home is a must. Small animals are also not a good fit due to her strong herding instincts. Ripley *must* go to a home with another confident dog, she is just too scared without one. One of Ripley's greatest talents? Being completely unbothered by life. Thunderstorms? Fireworks? Loud noises? She has no idea they're happening. The only thing that startles her is being bumped unexpectedly while she's sound asleep. A few things about Ripley: -Ripley is very sensitive to sunlight and needs protective goggles when outdoors. Being mostly albino, UV exposure can irritate her eyes quickly. -Stairs are still a work in progress, but she's learning. -She can get carsick, so road trips may require a little planning. -She relies heavily on her people for guidance and reassurance, making her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted sidekick. Perhaps the best thing about Ripley? Her bark sounds exactly like one of those squeaky rubber chicken toys. We're not kidding. Ripley doesn't need a perfect home. She just needs a family willing to see past her vision and hearing loss, and recognize the incredible, funny, loving, adventurous dog underneath. She may not be able to see you, and she may not be able to hear you, but she will absolutely love you with her whole heart. Ready to be Ripley's eyes, ears, and favorite human? Apply to meet this sweet baby! https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application
