Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Barkley is a happy, fit, and attentive 6-year-old Lab who loves to be by his person's side. He'll gladly join you for fetch, swimming, long runs, hikes, walks — you name it. He can also relax with you or be alone indoors. He's house-trained, doesn't destroy household items, and will snuggle with you on the couch while you watch a movie. Barkley completed boarding obedience school, follows basic commands, and is highly food-motivated, so he's easy to train and a pleasure to live with. He allows brushing and ear cleaning, his vaccines are current (Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Lyme), and he is neutered and microchipped. Sadly, we are seeking to re-home him because he hasn't adjusted well to living with a young child. He is not suitable for a home with children or male dogs. Please reach out if you think Barkley might bring joy to your life, as he has ours.

Norm

Hound (Unknown Type) Labrador Retriever

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Norm was brought into our lives at 9 weeks old from a shelter and has been a good boy for the last few years. He has an "eeyore" like personality, loves snuggles, his big red herding ball, swimming, fetch, and FOOD. Norm is extremely trainable and food motivated and can walk quite nicely on a slip lead figure 8 attached leash. We are heartbroken that we need to rehome Norm because he really only has one behavior issue - he has shown signs of resource guarding around our 13 month old child. He has not shown aggression, just warning communication through growl/snarled lip and we're playing it safe. We have done training and he comes with lifetime support from Dog Wizard. He's familiar with training that can redirect him from poor behavior. Norm should be in a home without children, with a fenced yard, and can be with other dogs, pending introduction. He should be in a relaxed home with predictable routine. He will make the most loyal companion to someone looking for a really good boy.

Denver

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Great Dane

Milan, MI
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Denver is a 6-year-old Staffordshire/Lab/Boxer mix and a loyal, loving companion. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but after welcoming a newborn and raising an active 3-year-old, we’ve realized our home is no longer the right fit for him. Denver is crate trained, knows commands, has had extensive training, and is highly food motivated and eager to please. He bonds deeply with his people and thrives with structure, consistency, and an active lifestyle. He would do best in an adult home or one with older, respectful children. He can play rough with other dogs and needs proper introductions. No cats or small animals. He was born with a naturally short tail (not docked). Denver has so much love to give and deserves a home where he can thrive. Please reach out if you think you may be the right match.

Doberman Pinscher

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Jimmy Durian was beat up and very shutdown when we met him - he was very sick and underweight, he had been in survival mode outside with his siblings before Animal Control Officers found them. Once in a foster home, Jimmy was crate trained and liked sleeping curled up in his own space. Jimmy is passive and got picked on frequently by bigger male dogs so he was paired up with happy female dogs to play and help him gain confidence. As Jimmy played and had outside time, he gained muscle and started to heal. He would love a dog friend to keep him company as a shy dog - eventually he realized cuddles by humans were just as desirable. Jimmy is overwhelmed by being in public space and lays down when put on a leash. Facebook Reel: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1X9KpiuDR9/ Seeking a family to continue to socialize this sweet Boy. Now neutered, Up to Date on Vaccines, Microchipped, Testing Negative for Heartworms and on Preventions. His current weight is 65 lbs, he is tall and lean. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee ($550.00) includes transport options to PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN) or select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT) by pet transport partners. The dogs were isolated and timid of human contact. The boys had bites and cuts on their legs and heads. CCR provided medical care for all of the dogs and months in foster homes has offered necessary socializing. {Joey Dion and Jimmy Durian appear to be litter mates and will not be adopted to the same home} Intake Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/voZpYVmWhYI?si=y0z8awyjMhTxHzp5 Rescue does not complete DNA testing. Silly Chandler Goose

Doberman Pinscher

Story
Chandler Goose's Story Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months before coming to rescue, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor - he does well confined to a room or large kennel run. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He is tall and at 3 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 85 lbs. He could be a 95 lb-110 lb dog. >> He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He will jump on people, he will pull at objects in someone's hand. Chandler Goose will require breed experience to adjust to a new home successfully. Goose reacts out of insecurity - he requires a confident human. !!! He has been slowly introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Due to his size and limited social skills, He should not be exercised at a dog park. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/UNgh6IvlV8U?si=i-Q9xYtOpNeCRWga Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. Adoption Fee ($650.00) includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Adoption Fee reflects the need for an XL crate at travel. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- HIS-tory: Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone.
