Story
We call this precious babygirl Pesa, because of her imprint of the texas map. Pesa is going on 6 months and looking for a loving family to call home. She is one of the most shy, coolest, and laid-back dog, but don't let that fool you she likes to hang with the big dogs. She knows how to use the puppy pads and she also know how to use the bathroom outside. She is friendly with all animals including cats. She loves to play, eat, and most of the time you will catch her just chilling with one of her toys, wanting a belly rub, or outside laying suntanning in the grass. She loves all stuffed animals and toys. If you would like to know more please submit an application and reach out to Chantel at 773-681-1460 or email: Chantelhairston24@gmail.com

Story
Kong is an almost 3-year-old Pit Bull/Lab mix who has been a loved part of our family. He is neutered, house-trained, smart, loyal, playful, and affectionate. He loves attention, enjoys being around his people, and has so much love to give. Unfortunately, our family is moving and we are unable to take Kong with us. This is not an easy decision for us, and our biggest priority is making sure he goes to a home where he will be loved and cared for just as much as he has been with our family. We are looking for someone who will welcome him as part of their family and give him the attention, care, and companionship he deserves. Kong will also come with his crate to help make his transition into his new home a little easier. More than anything, we want to know that he is going somewhere safe, loving, and permanent where he can continue to be a happy and cherished member of the family.

Story
we found this heeler last october loose under a car . We had him checked for a chip by a vet . Vet said no chip and was about 2-3 months old . We posted him for months on end with no luck . I contacted animal shelter we were told if we couldn't keep him to turn him loose . Well we won't do that . I have other dogs in the house that he has up until now got along with . He's now 8 months old and he's become aggressive with our male lab and our male husky but he gets along fine with our female dogs . The vet told us that his hormones are now coming in and testosterone is high so that's why he's having issues with our 2 male dogs , Both our lab and husky have always played with him and played well . This has only started in the past couple months . We never intended to take another dog but i refused to just let him go or put him in a shelter . I rescue dogs i don't dump them . But this baby needs a home where he has room to do what heelers do.He is a very sweet dog otherwise

Story
Nala came into my life in 2024 during one of the hardest periods of my life, and she quickly became my emotional support and best friend. She was given to me unexpectedly for free, and it truly felt like a little bit of magic when I needed it most. I recently moved to Texas and have been working to rebuild my life. Unfortunately, with everything that has changed, I no longer have the time and attention Nala deserves. It breaks my heart, but I know finding her a loving home with more companionship is the right thing for her. Nala is about 4 years old and is genuinely the sweetest dog. She has no behavioral issues, she’s calm, quiet, affectionate, and easygoing. She’s always excited to greet people and loves being around her person. She knows sit, stay, lay down, spin around, and paw! She’s playful when you want to play, but also loves relaxing. She has been deeply loved, and I hope to find someone who will love her just as much.

Story
Meet Annie! She is a 3yr old spayed female American Pitbull mix that weighs 40lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on as a stray 8/26/2025. She was adopted for one day but returned due to her very active playful manner. Yes, its true she is a spitfire! She loves to chase toys, doing zoomies in the play yard, and can be a bit mouthy with excitement. Once she runs out her energy she will sit right next you on the bench to be petted and will shower you with kisses. She does love treats but does not always take them gently so she will need additional training. She would do best with a person with an active lifestyle that can dedicate time to Annie to help her be the best pup she can be. She always has a big smile on her face and her tail wags non-stop. You can tell she wants to be your one and only pup in the home. With her energy level it maybe best. Please discuss with the shelter staff if you have another dog in the home so a dog test can be arranged. This super friendly lovebug can’t wait to find her own loving home. Can you please provide her with this?
