Story
Beast is a very active, high energy boy. Typical Mal. Loving and protective. Crate trained. He's around 6 years old. He's been with me 1 1/2 years. He's been to board in training and knows basic commands. Very intelligent and learns quickly. Beast needs to be the only animal in the home. He does not get along with other dogs and he thinks cats are prey. He is OK with older kids. I don't know how he'd be with younger kids. I'm moving out of state next year to a condo that does not allow dogs.

Story
Rosemary came to us from a connection and a newtork of dog loving animal welfare supporters in the DFW area. She has been living on the street on her own for five years, and in that time she had 3 litters of puppies that were all taken into homes or into rescue care. It was finally Rosemary's turn with the dedicated help of some amazing people and a professional trapper.  She was heartworm positive and has undergone treatment. SHe has come such a long way form being a frightened little lump in a private room to the happy girl she is today.  While Rosemary has made extravagant strides in the direction of being accustomed to living indoors, she is still frightened by quick movements or loud sounds. She will need a very specific home willing to continue working with her - perhaps for the rest of her life - on learning how ot be a dog and a dog living in a home. She is incredibly sweet and does accept human affection when she knows the person.  Rosemary is approximatly 6 to 7 years old.  If you are interetsed in opening your heart and home to Rosemary, please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt ##1100735##

Story
Saiph is a spayed female husky mix that weighs approximately 55 lbs. She is shy at first meeting new people, but will warm up after a short time. She requires slow dog to dog introductions. She is likely not safe around cats.  She is very sweet once she opens up and is rather quiet on the day to day. She will bark and become vocal if another dog encouches on her space, but we work with her every day on this.  Saiph was found as a stray and had very obviously recently weaned a litter. She was heartworm positive and has completed treatment with us. If you are interested in Saiph, please fill out her adoption application and we will reach out to you as quickly as possible!  Petfinder: Please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for adoption profiles and appications.  ##1568471##

Story
Gordon is an approximately 2 to 3 year old Siberian Husky that came to Redstone from our local, rural shelter. He was emaciated and could barely walk. His tail hung limp and nerve dead off his body. Luckily, with time and medical support, he regained full function of his hind legs and his tail. To look at Gordon today you would never notice anything was ever wrong with him.  He does have bullet lodged in his pelvic area. These generally cause more damage to attempt to remove rather than to leave them alone. We were very lucky that Gordon did not require any surgical intervention for his damaged legs or his tail.  Gordon is a very sweet boy and as he settled in here at the rescue he has found his husky voice. He enjoys to lay outside and observe the area around him. He can be sassy with other boys, but seems to get along ok with girls. He is still gaining some of his body weight back, but this will be a slower process over time as he has ground to make up. Gordon is considered a healthy weight by our veterinarian and he is cleared for adoption.  He is microchipped with lifetime registration, has been dewormed, neutered, he is heartworm negative and on prevention since coming to us here at the rescue, he is crate trained and appears mostly house trained, and he is vaccinated with core vaccines.  Petfinder: If you are interested in adopting Gordon, please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for his adoption profile and application.  ##1726746##

Story
Bingo is a young adult, neutered male Heeler type mix. He came to Redstone missing the lower half of his back leg from a very old injury. He underwent a formal surgical amputation and recovered very well from this. He was also heartworm positive and has completed treatment.  Through Bingo's medical care process, he has been exposed to car trips, new people, new places, and a lot of hands on interaction. He has come a very long way from the drastically undersocialized dog that first arrived, but he will need management regarding socialization as he adjusts further. He was not a feral dog coming to us and has lived in a home before, he just did not have socialization beyond that.  He requires a quiet home and would do best with someone that just needs a couch buddy. He enjoyes being out in the sun from time to time, but all he really desiers is a bed in a nice quiet place to curl up in. He is good with other dogs, but mostly chooses to keep to himself.  Bingo is crate trained and house trained. He has been neutered and treated for heartworm disease, he is on monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention, he has been dewormed, he is microchipped with lifetime registration, vaccinated, and he is ready to be placed in a loving home.  Petfinder: Please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for adopton profile and application.  ##1816448##

Story
Cosette is a young adult female Husky mix that has a very bubbly personality combined with being so very sweet. She loves to be pet and nearby, but she also has a sense of adventure and would love to spend her nice afternoons with her person outdoors. She is working through learning leash walking, so she would be a great weekend-adventure type of companion for someone!  She is crate trained and appears house trained, she is spayed (on 12/15/23), up to date on vaccines, microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and is ready to find a home that needs her.  She is dog friendly and is learning basic obedience cues. She could benefit from having another dog in the home, but could also do well as an only dog in an active home.  Petfinder: If you are interested in adopting Cosette, please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for her adoption profile and application.  ##1817203##
