If you are looking for your favorite gal pal to trail run or run the Netflix, look no farther than Keyana! Imagine BFF vibes but also a little back talk to keep you in your place. She truly just wants to be included but is definitely still working on her manners. Keyana is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She is also house and crate trained. Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9.5 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Hi, My name is Bella or Bell for short! I am considered a 'senior' but I have so much life left! When you pet me I love to go through your legs for fun!!! One of my favorite games is to play tug of war and I love to win, hint, hint. Here is what is known of my story. Apparently I was a stray. My foot got caught in a trap which was so scary and painful. Luckily someone found me and I got a wonderful rescue to help me heal and am now looking for a terrific home. Sometimes, when I am home alone I do mess with my back leg too much which can cause a sore. My current foster mom has been working with me the past few weeks and I've improved so much!!I really want a family who will be home most of the time to help me get over my past trauma! I promise you will love me so much! I am potty trained and use a doggy door in my current foster home. As a senior, if there isn't a doggy door, I need to be let out every few hours or I might have an accident (No fault of my own).I'm looking for my forever family to love on and that will love me!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
Nova is a gorgeous 3 year old shepherd mix. She came from a rough background, but has adapted to family life perfectly. Nova's favorite activity is snuggling with her humans. She is a great girl to take on fun weekend activities, but she is ok snoozing in the house while you work all week. Nova is housebroken, crate trained, and walks very nicely on leash. She is good with other dogs big and small, and due to her background she finds comfort in other dogs and must be adopted to a home with a canine companion. She can still be a bit timid in some situations, but is quickly gaining confidence. Young kids are still kind of scary for her, and she will chase cats. If you are looking for a fun-loving snuggly buddy, look no further than Nova! Please fill out an application to meet her at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Hi! My name is Persy and I am a wonderful puppo! I LOVE tennis balls and since I am an all-weather gal, I don't mind plunging in the snow to get them. I am a compact 50ish lb. terrier-mix with a short coat, soft ears and cute terrier toes. I can be trusted when left alone to not get in the trash or shred your things, but I'd prefer to come with you as I am quiet and sit in my seat on car rides. I walk VERY gently on a leash and take teats just the same. I don't bark, even when I am feeling playful and silly, so I could live nicely in an apartment. I also don't get upset if you pick me up, or touch my tail, toes, ears or mouth, but I will probably give you a lick if you do. I am house broken and am probably smart enough to use a doggy door if you have one. I am learning to sit ... for bacon! With all my wonderful qualities, you are probably wondering why I am looking for my forever home at the beautiful age of 8. Unfortunately, my best friends are humans and only humans. I am very sweet with two-legged friends but am otherwise best described as dog and cat 'de-selective.' I need to be the 'only child,' but I promise to make it such a sweet, funny, easy time that you won't need anyone else. I am untested with kiddos, but will probably be fine with them.To meet me, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Story
Harvey is a super special senior who is looking for his super special humans. At about 10 years old, Harvey is old enough to know what he likes - eating and napping! - and what he doesn't - being touched unless it's his idea. Harvey can be a nervous guy around big dogs and new people, we haven't seen him around cats and he shouldn't live with children. Harvey comes by his hesitation honestly, he likely lived a life of neglect and finally abandonment before coming to CAWS and didn't get all the love and care a dog should receive. We're dedicated to changing that now! We know Harvey's people are out there - someone who will allow him to climb onto your lap when he's ready for cuddles, and someone who won't hold his tendency to snap when he feels threatened against him. Harvey has Cushing's disease and thyroid issues, and will require lifelong medication and dedicated care. Harvey does bark, so he'd do better in a house than an apartment with shared walls. If you think you have the big heart to give Harvey the life he deserves, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Harvey's adoption fee is $100.
