We've been fostering Dutchess for a couple of weeks. She's a fun and loving 5 year old Alaskan Malamute. She is house and kennel trained. She gets along well with kids. With adults, she takes a couple of days to warm up to them before she's comfortable. After those couple of days, she'll be your best friend. She gets along well with our chocolate lab and has been friendly with every dog she's met. Dutchess loves car rides, hikes and belly rubs.

Story
Kenai is a typical Husky—very vocal, mischievous, loves to be around his people. He’s 7 years old, trained to sit, stay, down. Likes to pull when walking, but corrects well. Shy around new people, responds well to treats, very affectionate. He was my eldest son’s dog, but son moved out over a year ago and can’t take Kenai. I already have another Husky and am overwhelmed with dealing with both of them together. Kenai has also had a problem lately with peeing in particular spots in the house. He is usually housebroken and has full access to a side yard, but he appears to be marking territory and we feel it may be a response to one of the cats in the house.

Synonyms for Diva: starlet, leading lady, prima Donna, Keyana. Keyana may not have had the best start in life but this 3 year old Husky mix gal is looking for the best rest of her life. If you are looking for your favorite gal pal to trail run or run the Netflix, look no farther than Keyana! Imagine BFF vibes but also a little back talk to keep you in your place. Keyana needs firm boundaries but not a firm hand. She talks back and may redirect when scooted the wrong way, though she is a people pleaser and just wants affirmation. If you want to go to the bathroom by yourself this definitely is not your dog. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes, unknown on cats. She truly just wants to be included but is definitely still working on her manners. Keyana is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She is also house and crate trained. Come on down and meet this leading lady!Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Keyana's adoption fee is $200. Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9.5 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Hi, My name is Bella or Bell for short! I am considered a 'senior' but I have so much life left! When you pet me I love to go through your legs for fun!!! One of my favorite games is to play tug of war and I love to win, hint, hint. Here is what is known of my story. Apparently I was a stray. My foot got caught in a trap which was so scary and painful. Luckily someone found me and I got a wonderful rescue to help me heal and am now looking for a terrific home. Sometimes, when I am home alone I do mess with my back leg too much which can cause a sore. My current foster mom has been working with me the past few weeks and I've improved so much!!I really want a family who will be home most of the time to help me get over my past trauma! I promise you will love me so much! I am potty trained and use a doggy door in my current foster home. As a senior, if there isn't a doggy door, I need to be let out every few hours or I might have an accident (No fault of my own).I'm looking for my forever family to love on and that will love me!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
Nova is a gorgeous 3 year old shepherd mix. She came from a rough background, but has adapted to family life perfectly. Nova's favorite activity is snuggling with her humans. She is a great girl to take on fun weekend activities, but she is ok snoozing in the house while you work all week. Nova is housebroken, crate trained, and walks very nicely on leash. She is good with other dogs big and small, and due to her background she finds comfort in other dogs and must be adopted to a home with a canine companion. She can still be a bit timid in some situations, but is quickly gaining confidence. Young kids are still kind of scary for her, and she will chase cats. If you are looking for a fun-loving snuggly buddy, look no further than Nova! Please fill out an application to meet her at http://caws.org/adoption-application.
