Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. If you are interested in adopting Puck, please complete an adoption application on our website. Just go to uaaf.org/adopt. Story
Hi, I’m Nora! I’m a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. I love to make an entrance—whether I’m zooming down the hallway or running in and out of the house, you’ll hear me coming! My tail is usually wagging, and I’m always excited to see my people. When playtime is over, I’m a total snuggle bug and would be very happy curled up next to you on the couch. I’m loyal to the core and once I choose my person, you’re my person forever. I can be a little sassy (okay, maybe a lot), but that’s part of my charm. I also LOVE toys—seriously, I’ve built quite the collection and I’m very proud of it. I get along with other dogs, though I can be a bit bossy at times. I don’t have to be an only pup, but I do best with dog-savvy humans who understand that small dogs can have big feelings. I’m very protective of my people and just want to keep them safe. Cats? Well… I think they’re fun to chase, so I’d probably prefer a home without them (or with cats who can stand their ground). The good news? I’m crate trained, house trained, great on a leash, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped—and I just had a dental, so my smile is sparkling. If you’re looking for a sweet, spunky, toy-loving cuddle buddy with loads of personality, I might be your girl. I promise to love you fiercely and keep life entertaining. If you are interested in adopting Nora, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Bandit - Small Dog, Big Heart! This 3 year old Schnauzer mix (17 lbs.) is the definition of a happy, easygoing companion. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, loves to play, and is always up for toy time or a cuddle session. He does well with small dogs, uses a dog door like a pro, and has great house manners. He sleeps in his crate at his foster home, but would love, love, love to sleep on the bed with his people. Bandit rides nicely in the car, and knows a few basic commands. Best of all, he’s confident and relaxed—no separation anxiety and no aggression here. Bandit can be a bit of an explorer, so he needs a securely fenced yard in his new home. And keep an eye on this guy. He can dash through the door like a shot. Bandit needs leash training and can be aggressive toward other dogs while he's on leash. When playtime is over, he’s all about being close to his people. Couch buddy? Bed snuggler? He’s in. This sweet boy is ready to bring joy, companionship, and lots of love to his forever home. Bandit has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Bandit, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Meet Rex, the sweetest, “perfectly imperfect” pup you’ll ever meet! Rex is a 1 year old, 15 lb Lhasa Apso mix with a heart as big as his personality. Born with a cleft lip, missing one eye, and a congenital heart defect (now successfully repaired), Rex has overcome more in his first year than most dogs do in a lifetime. And through it all, he has remained a happy and incredibly loving little soul. Rex is friendly and affectionate, but he can be a bit sensitive and shy in new or unfamiliar situations. Once he feels safe, his playful, goofy side shines through. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion, but he’d also be perfectly content as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of quality time and reassurance from his person. Rex is crate trained and well on his way to being housetrained, but he’ll need a consistent routine and attentive supervision to help him continue building on his progress. Because of his sensitive nature, Rex would do best in a calm home with adults or older children who can give him the patience, understanding, and steady routine he needs to feel secure. If you’re looking for a loyal, tenderhearted companion who will reward your love tenfold, Rex might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with someone who sees his uniqueness as something to celebrate. Rex is neutered and current on vaccinations. He has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you’re interested in adopting Rex, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt).
