Story
Rae is a 5-7 month old husky mix recently. Very sweet dog, follows you around everywhere and just wants to be with people and get as many pets as possible. She is crate trained, loves to play fetch, knows basic commands and we are working on more. Unfortunately our older dog, an Aussie Shepard (who has previously lived with other dogs), is not warming up to her at all; this has lead to some confrontation between the animals. We are at 1.5 weeks of the 3 weeks based on the 3/3/3 method and have had no success with the two animals building a relationship. Our plans are to meet with a behaviorist/trainer to try to bridge the relationship between the dogs but still have our concerns for both dogs in the long-term. We just want what is best for both animals and for Rae to find a loving home where she can continue to soak up the love she deserves.

Story
We first got pennie in 2019 at the Humane Society. She's a energetic girl even in her late years and will want to play with as many people as possible. She's about 10 years old and acts like she's 2. But even with her energetic lifestyle she wants to hangout and socialize with as many people and dogs as possible. Growing up pennie wasn't properly socialized with other dogs, but I've regularly taken her out on walk trying to get her to socialize with other dogs. She can understand orders likes sit, stay, and shake. She's an active dog and will constantly want walks and to play with other dogs. If you have a strong arm and steady hand she'll be your beloved pet for her entire life.

Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. If you are interested in adopting Puck, please complete an adoption application on our website. Just go to uaaf.org/adopt. Story
Hiya! I’m Moe, and I’ve been looking for you. I thought I could find you on my own, so I took myself for a walk. Apparently, that’s against the rules! Some nice people picked me up and took me to the shelter, thinking you would find me there. Since you were busy getting ready for me, I came to live with my foster mom while you prepared your heart for your new best friend. I’m about 6 months old and, until recently, lived a bit of a nomadic life. Because of that, I’ll need a patient family to help me learn what it means to be a beloved family member. Leashes are still new to me, and they make me a little nervous, but my foster mom says I’ll soon discover they lead to adventures with my people. I’ve shown some signs of separation anxiety, but with the right family, consistency, and time, I think I’ll learn that I’m safe and loved, even when my people aren’t right beside me. I love having doggie friends and seem curious about cats. I’m also learning how to use the dog door, but I’m not quite a pro yet. A good routine and positive guidance will help me continue building my confidence. If you’re looking for a sweet young pup who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, I might be the one you’ve been waiting for. Moe has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Moe, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Meet Tyson, a handsome brindle Boxer whose expressive face—and unforgettable underbite/cleft combination—will make you smile every day. Tyson recently completed a month of intensive training at Innovative K9 Training Academy, where he mastered leash walking and crate manners. He’s a true gentleman on walks, doesn’t pull, and is perfectly crate-trained. At home, Tyson is a champion lounger, often relaxing in his signature “saddle” sit that’s as unique as he is. Once Tyson bonds with you, he’s all about cuddles and cozy naps. He’s a loyal, affectionate companion who loves spending time with his favorite people. Tyson is a sensitive dog who thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Loud noises and busy households can make him anxious, so he’s looking for a quiet home without small children. He can be protective of his people and home, and while he may enjoy being your one-and-only pet, he has lived successfully with another Boxer and learned to calmly ignore other dogs during training. His cleft palate is simply part of what makes him special and requires no medical care. Tyson happily eats dry kibble without issue; he just needs to avoid soft foods such as peanut butter. Tyson is neutered, current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you’re looking for a well-trained, affectionate companion with loads of personality, Tyson could be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Tyson, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Maryjo at 801-802-0609 or email maryjokorb@gmail.com

Story
Linkin is a sweet, silly little guy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s been perfect with the dog door since day one—four weeks in and not a single accident, even before he was neutered. He loves to play with both humans and dogs, and fetch is his favorite game. His signature move is grabbing the toy, zooming into another room, then proudly trotting it back to his person. He does great with small dogs but hasn’t been tested with cats or large dogs yet. Linkin is still learning that men can be safe; he’s nervous around them but making steady progress. He’s especially warming up to Garrett, his foster dad, who has been the bringer of meals and treats. Sometimes he’ll growl when he’s unsure who’s approaching, but he relaxes as soon as he realizes it’s Garrett. Linkin is a world class cuddler who wants to be with his person as much as possible. He loves looking out the window and is usually quiet, though he’ll bark or howl at whatever catches his eye. He’s done well in a crate but also sleeps happily on the bed with the other dogs. Like any young pup, he’ll occasionally chew something he shouldn’t, but he listens when corrected. He’s smart, funny, affectionate, and just so much fun to have around. Linkin has been neutered, is current on vaccines has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Linkin, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Tammy at 801-819-5319 or email muddypawsgroom@gmail.com.
