Story
Meet Sophie, she’s an adventurous 6y.o. pupers who loves food and to be with people to play, and give snuggles, and kisses. She’s got big brown expressive eyes. She is hypoallergenic and her hair is a beautiful white and caramel color that is so soft; but she’s not concerned with her looks. She would rather play tug-a-war, fetch, or find new smells out in the big world. Sophie is also a good alert dog and will let you know when strangers are around. Sophie does struggle with skin allergies and needs medicine regularly. Because of her skin allergies she has a few sores on her legs but these can be removed by a vet. We are not able to keep Sophie because we are taking over the care of elderly parents who cannot have dogs around.

Story
Gracie is utterly the most stunning exquisite dapple color, softest long hair, 7 year 30 pound petite Catahoula / Collie mix. She was very reserved and skittish when she first got to her foster home, but with lots of patience she is opening up every day and catching on to the routine. Her foster family has not heard her bark a peep. She can scale lower baby gates in the snap of a finger so she absolutely requires a 6 foot tall fenced in back yard. She cannot go to a home with kids under 15 because if the door was opened and she was not secure she most certainly would dart out the door. Gracie gets along wonderfully with all the dogs in her foster home, big and small, male and female. She does need to go to a home with at least one other dog, they constantly cuddle with heads on each other, arms around each other and groom each other. She is affectionate with her 2 legged people but absolutely adores her 4 legged friends. At times she is very feminine and reserved, but other times not very lady like at all, she sleeps on her back with legs spread eagle. She is totally house and crate trained. Given the opportunity Gracie will put her front paws on a counter or help herself to unattended people food, oh and she likes to have a sip or two of coffee left on the end table, she is just a little busy body, but in the cutest form of busy. She needs to be fed separate or watched as she devours her food super fast and will help the other 4 legged doggies empty their bowls if they have not ate as fast as she has. By no means is she food aggressive though. They all drink water at the same time from the same bowl. She will chew up papers if left unattended so she needs to be given her own toys to chew on. Gracie will make the most wonderful addition to her furever home, she just needs to be given the utmost respect and time to feel secure and safe and catch on to the routine of her new home.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Gracie's adoption fee is $200. Story
Who's the sweetest girl?! Meet Jackie, a 3-year-old pit bull mix and undeniably the sweetest girl! Jackie loves people of all sizes, especially children. She's a gentle and easygoing girl with so much love to give. Jackie came to CAWS from a local shelter where she was a staff favorite. She's a medium energy dog who needs daily exercise - she loves walks and is benefitting from extra practice while on leash, and enjoys a good game of fetch. She also loves swimming and going for rides in the car. Jackie can be a little choosy with her dog friends, but can live with medium to large dogs after a proper introduction and time for them to build their friendship. She shouldn't live in a home with small dogs, cats or other animals. Jackie weighs 44 pounds, but could stand to safely gain a few more lbs. She's crate trained and house trained, and eager to find her forever home! Is it yours? If you’re interested in Jackie, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Synonyms for Diva: starlet, leading lady, prima Donna, Keyana. Keyana may not have had the best start in life but this 2 year old Husky mix gal is looking for the best rest of her life. If you are looking for your favorite gal pal to trail run or run the Netflix, this is your gal. Imagine BFF vibes but also a little back talk to keep you in your place. Keyana needs firm boundaries but not a firm hand. She talks back and may redirect when scooted the wrong way, though she is a people pleaser and just wants affirmation. If you want to go to the bathroom by yourself this definitely is not your dog. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes, unknown on cats. She truly just wants to be included but is definitely still working on her manners. Keyana is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She is also house and crate trained. Come on down and meet this leading lady!Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Story
Maverick is a 2yr old husky mix who weighs about 45 lbs (He even had his DNA done!). His favorite things are squeaky toys, bones, treats, and playing with his doggie friends. He really likes to chase things, so a home with cats might not be a great fit. Maverick loves kids and would do well in a home with older, dog-savvy kids....he is still young and may accidentally knock a little one over when he is playing. He uses the dog door at his foster-mom's house and is house and kennel trained. Maverick loves to be with you wherever you go and is he always up for adventure! Mav will do well in training classes and would be great at agility….he is very food motivated and eager to learn. This little guy is an amazing dog and will be the best buddy you could ever have!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9 yr old, 50 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is “REGAL”, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you’re friend or foe, but don’t worry…I’m a love bug after I’ve made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don’t like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I’m not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you’re ignoring me, but you’ll think it’s super cute. Don’t fret, this regal boy doesn’t require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
