Story
Hi there! I’m Willa! I’m looking for a home of my own in time for the holidays! I’m a sweet and playful 3-4-year-old boxer mix, weighing in at a lovable 60 pounds.  I’m super, super friendly, and I love playing with other dogs, but would probably do best in a home as the only pup. I was patiently waiting at a shelter in Tennessee, but it’s gotten crowded because of all the dogs displaced by Hurricane Helene. I came in a stray, and nobody has come for me, so now I'm thrilled that I was lucky enough to come to NJ and find you! I am currently living with a foster family with older kids and I love them, but its not a forever kind of thing and I'm still on the hunt for my fur-ever. I'm looking for a very patient and low energy quiet home, as I can sometime get anxious (especially when being outside with new and loud noises - I'm still learning the ropes!) I'd also thrive in a home with a yard to run free in but prefer to hang inside mostly. I recently learned how fun toys and balls can be. And then there's the nightly couch cuddle I can't resist. I do great in the crate when my family is not home and at night. I also know some basic manners like sit, paw and leave it. If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a new best friend, please consider adopting me. When you bring me home, you’ll also make space for other dogs who are still waiting for help. You can apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make room for more friends in need.If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! U.S. shelter and adoption estimates 2012 3,500—Number of animal shelters •  6-8 million—Number of cats and dogs entering shelters each year 25 percent—Percentage of purebred dogs in shelters •  3-4 million—Number cats and dogs adopted from shelters each year 2.7 million—Number of adoptable cats and dogs euthanized in shelters each year 25% of dogs in shelters are pure bred - that's 1 in 4! Story
If you love outdoor adventures Wallace is the dog for you. This 2–3-year-old Boxer/Hound sweetheart is an active boy– he loves hiking on the trails, running in the snow, splashing in the water – it’s all good with him. He walks well on leash, and actually loves to lead the way, which is really sweet. Oh, and he loves riding in the car, especially if its for a pup cup! At 77 pounds Wallace is a big guy but is as gentle and affectionate as could be. He is very intelligent, a good learner and has a strong desire to please his people. He loves to play but also settles down easily. And while he sleeps through the night on his bed, he would always prefer to share yours if given the chance. Wallace is currently in foster, where he is doing great, but he is waiting eagerly to find his forever home. He is looking for an experienced owner to guide him and be his best friend. He would do best in a home with adults or older kids who can manage his size and energy, and while he plays well with other dogs, should be the only dog in the home. Also on his wish list... a yard where he can explore and stretch his legs! In return for all of that he promises to give back with loads of love and lots of loyalty. Kindhearted Wallace just can't wait to find that forever family who will appreciate how truly special he is! Could it be you? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
At just 3 years old and 46 pounds, The Rock still has his whole life ahead of him… he just needs someone to help him believe that again. When he lost his home, his entire world came crashing down. Since arriving at the shelter, he has been nothing but sweet, gentle, and comfort-seeking, but the sudden change has left him anxious and unsure about the world around him. He’s found a small sense of safety in his kennel, and right now, stepping outside of it can be scary. But with patience, understanding, and someone experienced with anxious dogs, The Rock will rediscover his confidence. He just needs someone to show him that this isn’t the end of his story—it's the start of a happier, safer chapter. Give him time to decompress, space to trust at his own pace, and the love he’s been missing… and you’ll find a deeply affectionate, loyal dog waiting at the end of that journey. The Rock has been dog-friendly here and may even benefit from a calm, confident canine companion. If you can offer patience, guidance, and a heart ready to help a sweet soul rebuild, The Rock is ready to meet you. He’s truly worth the journey. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you. Please call the shelter (516-869-6311) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about this dog, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.org for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Story
Howdy folks! I’m an easygoing, good-natured, big ol’ Boxer/Terrier mix named Chopper, and sadly, I look like a bait dog. I’m young, about 10 months old, about 60 lbs, and like many dogs in San Antonio, Texas, I was dumped in the median of a busy highway. It was terrifying to say the least, and bless my lucky stars when an incredibly brave lady dodged traffic on foot to save me. I was thrilled to see her and let her carry me back to her car, and now she is my foster mom! Yep, I wasn't chipped or wearing a collar, so 4 Little Paws Rescue took me in. I am now neutered, chipped, and vaccinated, and the scars on my face are starting to fade. Turns out I’m a pussycat, sweet and gentle, almost motherly, with a litter of puppies who live here. My foster mom says I’m a lover, not a fighter, and I enjoy snuggling beside her when we relax on the couch watching TV. I make friends easily with everyone, dogs, and humans, and I was only curious when I met a kitty cat. I know how to sit on command, and I LOVE doggy toys. I am very well-behaved, fully housebroken, only bark to alert, and I taught myself how to use the doggy door by watching the other dogs. I love going for walks and road trips, and I am a very good listener, giving you my full attention when spoken to. I’m just a teddy bear and ever so grateful to be safe and sound and loved. My future looks bright, and I am totally looking forward to meeting the lucky East Coast family who gets to adopt me and make me their forever dog! Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Howdy from Texas! My name is Tank, and I am a handsome Boxer mix, about 9 months old, 64 lbs, and I was hanging out at a convenience store in Castroville, Texas, trying to make friends with the customers so someone would take me home. Thankfully, my plan worked when a lady pulled up in her ca,r and she is now my foster mom. I have been having a fun time playing with the other foster dogs while getting ready for adoption… vaccines, neuter, microchip, preventatives, lots of love and socialization, although I was already social, LOL! I am a super friendly boy who gets along great with all people, young and old, other dogs, and kitty cats. I have gobs of energy and enjoy playtime and outdoor activities like walking, hiking, camping, tug-of-war, running zoomies, or any kind of adventure! I am good on a leash and love rides in the car, and I’ll jump right in on my own when you call me. Fun fact: I am a total foodie! I’ll eat any treat offered, but I especially like carrots. I am also the affectionate type, not embarrassed to share kisses or snuggle beside you on the sofa. I am a very nice playmate for grownups, kids, or dogs, and although I will retrieve a ball when thrown, I’m still learning to bring it back to you. I’m well-behaved, housebroken, doggy-door trained, and I do not guard my food or toys. As a matter of fact, one of my doggy friends and I will frequently share food bowls. I am just a very nice boy and a total looker who can rock a Christmas bow, and I know I will make a wonderful forever dog! Inquire about me today. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
