Story
This is Scooby. He is a 6-year-old male Bloodhound. We are looking for a home for him. He needs a quiet household. Our house has become too chaotic for him, and he is suffering from some anxiety. Bloodhounds require a dedicated owner with lots of attention. He is a beautiful dog and wants to please. He is not a dog that will snuggle but loves attention, pets, walks, and treats.

Story
I adopted Bella from the Lake County Shelter three months ago. She came into shelter with two other dogs that were homeless. Bella is about a year old and full of energy and curiosity. She loves meeting other dogs and people although she can be a little nervous at times. She loves going for walks, hiking, and lounging in the sun. She would do best in a home with no young children or cats. She loves being active so hopefully her human will be also. She’s a sweetheart . But we have two cats and her pray drive is too much for the cats. Our German shepherd is good with the cats after we did slow introductions but Bella still try’s to attack them after working with her for three months .

💔 Loving Husky Needs a New Home — Meet Koko 🐾 It breaks our hearts to share this, but we are looking for a new home for our sweet husky, Koko. Our son has developed a severe dog allergy that we’ve tried everything to manage, and unfortunately, we’ve reached the point where rehoming Koko is our only option. Koko is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves being around people — especially kids. He’s calm, loving, and always ready for hugs and belly rubs. He gives so much love and thrives on connection. ✨ About Koko: - Male Husky - 3 years old - Neutered - Microchipped - Up-to-date on all vaccinations - House-trained - Great with children - Very affectionate. We are devastated to let him go, but we know Koko deserves to be in a home where he can be close to his people again. If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal, loving companion, please reach out.

Story
Noah is such a wonderful dog and we love him dearly but as our children grow, we find that we have less and less time for him and it makes us sad. We want someone who can give him more attention. He is so full of life and energy- but due to our schedules, Noah spends most of the day in a crate. He is house trained, but we find that if he’s home alone for more than an hour or so he starts to get anxious and may get himself into trouble. He is 13 years old but still a lot of energy and a lot of life. He is starting to go to the bathroom a lot and may have some accidents if he doesn’t go to the bathroom often. He is a very quiet dog rarely ever barks. Super good with other dogs and children. Super lovable just wants to be cuddled all the time.

Story
Meet Boomer, the big boy of a Shepherd! Boomer has a history living with children, teens, men, women and seniors! His favorite activities are going for walks and playing tug of war. Boomer had some dog friends in his previous home that he enjoyed interacting with and has shown some interest in befriending dogs since entering the Shelter. A home with a canine companion may be a fit after some “speed dating” prior to adoption. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
