Ella`s been a social butterfly since arriving at the Shelter. She enjoys going for walks with volunteers as well as playing with other dogs. A home with another dog may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Ella in a home with children, cats, or small animals. Ella is looking for an active adopter to provide above-average mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis. True to her breed, if she is left alone unsecured and/or under-stimulated, she will go out and find fun on her own! Adopters are strongly recommended to keep Ella indoors only when she is left alone to prevent this from happening.Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee! Big dogs have lots of love to share so consider adding one to your family today!

Meet Supernova! Supernova has been a social butterfly since arriving at the Shelter. She enjoys going for walks with volunteers as well as playing with other dogs. Supernova came into the Shelter with her sister Ella. She also would go on trips to the dog park in her previous home to play with friends. A home with another dog may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Supernova in a home with children, cats, or small animals. Supernova is looking for an active adopter to provide above-average mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis. Story
Meet the marvelous Martha! Martha came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. Martha has been a gentle giant through the transition from her backyard to the Shelter. Martha previously lived with four small dogs and coexisted nicely. Martha is currently hanging out in a foster home. The foster parents report: “It’s going great – Martha’s been super easy to handle. She lives for pets. She’s met kids and other dogs and has been a total sweetheart with everyone. She seems to be slowly getting livelier.”Martha has been low to medium energy. She enjoys sniffaris (slow walks where she can explore the world) and doesn’t necessarily need to run marathons every day with her adopter. Daily walks will be crucial to helping Martha lose weight as she is a bit of a bigger girl than she should be (100lbs!). A home with other dogs may be a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Martha with cats. If you’re looking for a gentle giant, come to the Shelter to set up a meet and greet with Martha today!

Story
Meet Canela! This sweet herding breed mix is looking for a breed-savvy adopter to provide above average mental and physical stimulation to keep her a happy camer. Canela’s favorite things are going for walks and playing frisbee. Canela knows “sit”, “shake” and “lie down”. An adopter that will continue bonding with her and learning through positive reinforcement based training will be best to help Canela settle into her new home and continue learning life skills. Canela has met dogs and enjoys playing but can be a bit conflicted behind barriers or on leash. Reactivity is common in dogs and can be managed through environmental set ups as well working with a positive reinforcement behavior consultant. Canela may enjoy a home with a canine companion but any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Due to some observed prey drive towards cats and squirrels, a home free of small animals is recommended to set Canela up for success. Due to some breed specific behaviors, Canela is recommended to go to a home with teens or adults only.

Story
Meet Choco! Social and sweet with people and experienced living with kids, Choco can be exuberant in play and when greeting people (jumping up on people to say hi). Choco can be a bit of a bulldozer with his rough and tumble play with other dogs, so adopters may need to manage his interactions with other dogs somewhat, especially while getting to know him better, and not be in rush to take him to off-leash areas like dog parks and beaches. Choco lived almost exclusively outdoors in his former home so some patience and training will be needed to help him transition to indoor living. Tall, dark and handsome Choco will enjoy above average mental and physical stimulation with toys, training and plenty of adventuring in his next home.
