Update Ruger is now at the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter. Ruger is 7 years old, ~100lbs neutered. He is a sweet, mature dog who lived extremely well with a foster home's younger dog and was remarkably tolerant of his puppy energy. He had been living as a companion dog and is accustomed to having a person of his own.Ruger does chase cats. He has not injured one, but because of his size and interest in chasing them, he needs a cat-free home. His foster has three cats, so she cannot safely keep him long-term. Ruger is neutered. Vaccination and veterinary records are being located/confirmed. His foster can provide additional information about his temperament and behavior as she gets to know him.Ruger came into foster care through no fault of his own. His owner was unexpectedly hospitalized and subsequently moved into assisted living and is no longer able to care for him.
