Story
Caesar: A Loyal Heart Seeking a Patient, Understanding Home. Hello! My name is Caesar, and I'm a handsome Shepherd (and maybe Husky!) mix, estimated to be 1.5 years old and weighing 55 lbs. I was neutered in March. I was found in Fresno, California, and didn't have much exposure to the world before coming into rescue. Because of this, I can be quite fearful and reactive towards new people and other dogs. I need a truly understanding and patient adopter who is committed to helping me feel secure and confident. While I haven't had much early socialization or training, I'm a quick learner and brave. I'm surprisingly house-trained and do very well inside the home once I understand the routine. I've already made excellent progress in my foster home, showing that with consistency and the right environment, I can continue to blossom. I'm a truly wonderful companion. I'm a fast learner and quickly accept and respect new things or people once I'm familiar with them. I've learned to sit politely for what I want and will even show you to my leash when it's walk time! I love walks and would make a great hiking buddy. My foster mom says I'm pretty strong – it must be the Husky in me! I wear a prong collar for walks, but I'm learning good leash manners. I also have a strong prey drive and am diligent about pursuing squirrels in the yard – this bodes well for your garden this summer! Initially, I was pretty reactive to vehicles passing by, particularly loud trucks or fast- moving cars. I have spent lots of time desensitizing and am much less concerned with cars on the road. Turns out, I happen to love riding in the car! I will very willingly “load up” and then enjoy the views and fresh air with my head out the window. The Shepherd in me loves to please, and I pick up new tricks quickly. I already know SIT, DOWN, and SHAKE, and we're working on STAY. I'm still a bit of a puppy at heart, playful with my toys (stuffed animals, ropes and things I can swing around are my favorite) and I’m always up for a good roll in the grass. I will patrol the yard, but generally refrain from barking at passersby. Even with yard access, I prefer being with my people if they are indoors. I like to lounge on the bed while you get ready for the day. And once I get to know you, I’ll snuggle with you on the couch. What I Need in a Home Due to my fear-based aggression, I need a home without small children. I could enjoy sleeping in on the weekends with a teenager who enjoys canine companionship. I’ve never been around a cat but would likely be inclined to chase them. I need a home with a secure yard and will always need to be on leash and harness when outside of the home.

Story
Meet Bulldozer! 🐾 3-Year-Old Purebred American Bully | DNA Tested | Big Heart, Bigger Personality Bulldozer is a high-energy, water-loving cuddle bug who's as goofy as he is affectionate. He’s happiest when splashing in a lake, chasing sticks, or crunching empty water bottles—then promptly collapsing in your lap for snuggles. A true velcro dog, Bulldozer wants to be your constant companion and will happily follow you from room to room, tail wagging all the way. He’s already learned Sit, Down, Wait, and Heel, and is currently in training to fine-tune his manners. His trainer is so committed to his success that they're offering free maintenance lessons for life to his adopter. He walks well on leash but needs gentle reminders to stay calm when he's excited (and he's excited often—joy is kind of his thing). Bulldozer is cat-friendly and dog-friendly with slow, structured introductions. He’s still learning doggy social cues, so he needs a savvy owner who can help guide his continued growth. Due to his breed and temperament, prior bully breed experience is a must—he thrives with confident, experienced humans who can help him regulate his excitement and navigate the world. Health-wise, Bulldozer has Hyperuricosuria (HUU), a manageable genetic condition that requires him to stay on a prescription urinary diet to prevent bladder stones. His forever family should be prepared to keep up with this important lifelong dietary need. Bulldozer is looking for a committed, loving home that understands his unique needs and is ready to embrace his big personality, wiggly cuddles, and continued training journey. In return, he’ll give you his whole heart—every single day. Ready to bulldoze your way into his heart?

Story
Hi, I’m Koa — your soon-to-be adventure buddy and professional belly-rub enthusiast 🐾💛. I’m just about a year old, full of happy energy, and I’ve never met a dog or human I didn’t want to be friends with. I’m a social butterfly who LOVES playdates, dog parks, and anywhere I can make new furry friends. My recall is so good, you might think I have a built-in GPS just for you! I’m a quick learner (treats help 😉) and I’ve already mastered leash walking, house manners, and car rides. I live with a foster dog sister, and we’re besties! I’d be happiest with an active person who can keep my body moving and my brain busy, while also giving me the structure I need to keep being my best self. Positive reinforcement? Yes, please — I’m here for all the “good boy!” praise. I do get a little anxious when you leave, but I’m learning that you’ll always come back. With patience, consistency, and love, I know I’ll feel more confident on my own. Oh — and people can’t stop telling me how handsome I am 😏. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, fun-loving companion who will stick by your side through every adventure, I think we’re meant to be. 🐶✨

Story
**About Kalvin:** Thank you for your interest in adopting Kalvin! Please note that Kalvin is an international rescue from Taiwan. Upon approval of your application, you will need to pick him up from an airport, such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, or YVR. Don't worry; international adoption isn't a complicated process, and we've been doing it successfully for many years. We'd be more than happy to explain how it works. Kalvin's Rescue Story: Kalvin was only one month old when he was found abandoned in a shelter. He was all alone in his cage without his mother or other dogs to keep him company. His skin was plagued by disease, and he was completely bald. The rescuer couldn't bear to see him suffer, so they rescued Kalvin and made it their priority to treat his skin condition and find him a loving forever home.  His coat is back to normal and he is given a clean bill of health by his veterinarian.  About Kalvin: Despite his initial rough appearance, Kalvin has a gentle and kind personality. He never bites people or other dogs and takes time to explore new environments and strangers. Having another dog by his side helps him feel bold and courageous. Treats are helpful in getting him to warm up to strangers more quickly, and he enjoys having his back vigorously massaged by those he trusts. Kalvin is cautious around those he doesn't know well, indicating he may have experienced abuse in the past. However, once he is comfortable with someone, he shows enthusiasm and affection. He is passionate and gentle by nature and loves playing with other dogs. Kalvin truly deserves a forever home where he can be cherished and cared for. If you're interested in learning more about Kalvin, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information or simply fill out the adoption form on our website. Please note that Kalvin is still in Taiwan, so prospective adopters will need to go through our international adoption process. Kalvin is ready to find his forever home and become a loving addition to a caring family. Apply here https://lifeofhopefoundation.org/adoption-application/
