Story
Phoenix is a 4–5-year-old Pitbull mix who came to our emergency hospital after a good Samaritan found her severely injured on the roadside. Her wounds, likely the result of multiple dog bites, required extensive hospitalization and ultimately a leg amputation. Despite everything she endured, Phoenix remained gentle, loving, and resilient throughout her recovery. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives and continues to live life joyfully—her missing leg does not slow her down in the slightest. Unfortunately, due to her past trauma, she is dog-aggressive and must be the only pet in the household. That limitation has made it extremely difficult to find her a suitable home, even though she has touched every heart in our clinic.

Story
We adopted Chahta into the family after he was rescued from a crated breeding situation. Our intentions were to take him with us to our forever country home in Alabama. However, plans were derailed in May 2024 with my oldest son being diagnosed with cancer. He was his support pet, best friend, and quiet protector. Fast forward to November 2025 and we recently memorialized my son. This is hard to write, however we would love for Chahta to go to a forever home. Teenagers and adults would be best. He has ptsd when crated but is very lovable. He is excellent with cats, but will need time with other dogs. He loves to cuddle on the couch or at your feet. He will also sleep alongside you in the bed or on the floor. We are heartbroken from losing our son and now having to rehome Chahta. We didn't want him to go to a shelter. We wouldn't be able to sleep, however we are unable to care for him and that is unfair to him. Anyone with a yard, loving arms, patience and kindness will be excellent.

Story
Gunter is a 3–4-year-old Pitbull mix (grey and cream) who was found in the summer of 2022, chained to our hospital’s back gate in Union City, Ga. We attempted to contact animal control and local shelters, but unfortunately, no one responded—and several facilities warned that he would likely face euthanasia if surrendered. We chose to care for him ourselves. He was neutered and has remained up to date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick control. Day to day, Gunter lives in a kennel and enjoys short breaks on our outdoor patio several times a day. He has not been socialized with other animals due to space and safety limitations, so we are unsure of his behavior toward other pets. However, he has shown no aggression toward people and is a favorite among our staff—energetic, affectionate, and eager for companionship once he warms up.

Story
Sierra was born in Waverly, Tennessee on November 18, 2018. She is a loving fur baby who requires a lot of play time because she has so much energy and does her zoomies a lot! She loves playing with other dogs, toys, and people! She will run from you at first and bark out of fear, but once she sees that you’re no threat to her, she will give in and you’d fall in love with her immediately. She loves to talk and howl a lot, and she is very sassy! Overall, she has a big heart and a great personality. She would be the perfect best friend for any home!

Story
Suki, a Chiweenie is four years old. We adopted her from Atlanta Humane in early 2023. Suki loves to be rubbed and showered with attention. Fetch is her favorite activity! She knows & understands simple commands (i.e. yes, no, come here, wait, outside & treat- her favorite). She enjoys sunbathing and being outside with the family. She is also crate trained and knows it as her “bed” & is house trained. Like most dogs, Suki has great hearing and barks whenever she hears something or someone she’s unfamiliar with. She definitely lets the house know (by barking) when someone is at the door or comes to visit. She’s not a fan of baths or the vacuum cleaner. Suki was diagnosed with IVDD in late September which caused temporary paralysis. She’s recovered and is back walking. She has a little wobble when running, sometimes causing her to fall down but she’s able to get up immediately. Up-to-date with Rabies vaccine only.
