Our Puppy Adoption Policy & Senior Adopters We absolutely adopt to seniors and value them deeply in our rescue community. In fact, we encourage adopters age 70 and older to consider adult dogs (5+ years) — they often form the most beautiful, well-matched partnerships and truly thrive together. Why not puppies? Puppies require many years of intensive care, including:Daily training and socializationSignificant physical activityOngoing veterinary careLong-term contingency planning for the next 15+ years Because of these lifetime needs, we place puppies only in homes where long-term stability and planning can be confidently met. For this reason, we do not place puppies with adopters over the age of 70.This policy exists solely to protect the lifelong welfare and stability of the dog — never to diminish the value or capability of senior adopters. Disclaimer:Adoption decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and reflect the rescue’s mission to act in the best interest of each animal. Policies are not intended to be discriminatory and are applied solely to ensure lifelong placement and welfare of the dog.We do not allow electric fences/halo collars, runners/tethers or doggy doors ##2616225##

Story
Tomb RaiderChihuahua Mix15 weeks old4 poundsGood with dogs: NO DOGS OVER 15 POUNDSGood with kids: NO KIDS UNDER 12Good with cats: Not sure and no way to test Tomb Raider definitely knows how to work her puppy dog eyes and that little grin when you pick her up She definitely needs another little dog in the home**She would not do well with being alone a lot..she loves people too much** Her ideal home is someone who is younger, social and not afraid of not being the Popular one while out and about Tomb Raider is such a sweet girl who loves to be around her people and another small dog as she does love to play. She loves to chase a ball but definitely not the "bring it back" type of girl. T.R. will be your ride or die girl and would NOT take a buLLet for you...but would take your chicken nuggets. I don't know how big she will be but she will definitely be on the small side...maybe around 8-10 pounds (maybe 15 pounds) Are you looking for the one girl who won't judge you but will definitely act like she didn't hear a word you said? Are you looking for the one girl who will sit next to you and watch a Hallmark movie while stealing some popcorn? Tomb Raider has class, stubbornness and a whole lot of sass!! We do not allow electric fences/halo collars, runners/tethers, doggy doors ##2577213##

Story
Location: New Jersey - meet and greet in South Jersey is requiredSquirrel Pembroke Welsh CorgiAbout 40 lbs- needs help continuing his weight loss routine!Good with dogs?: Yes, 40lbs and underGood with cats?: Unsure, but he does have a prey drive.Good with kids?: Dog savvy kids welcome!Crate trained: YesHouse trained: Yes, will sometimes mark but working on it!Leash trained: YesMeet SQUIRREL! Squirrel was surrendered by his owner through no fault of his own, he was being bullied by the resident Golden Retriever and the owner made the tough decision to rehome Squirrel. Due to his past, we would recommend that Squirrel either be the only dog, or be in the company of other small to medium sized pups. That being said slow introductions would also be a must as he can be shy/fearful due to his experience. Meet and greet with resident dogs is a must. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have a second shadow, you’ll soon find out! In typical corgi fashion Squirrel lives for his people and wants to supervise basically everything. His ideal situation would be either a family (dog savvy kids welcome!) or couple that can give him short brisk walks to maintain his figure, and then give him copious amounts of cuddles on the couch - his favorite place. Most of all he would love a family who is patient and kind with him as he adjusts to your routine. Squirrel’s quirks are that he occasionally might do a little dribble in the house to mark his territory. He also can be a picky eater and it took a couple days for him to finish his meals at his foster home. Otherwise, he is a certified good boy with phenomenal manners. Squirrel is waiting patiently for his furever family. ##2605570##
