Story
Bowie is a great dog. He listens he is loyal he is fun loving and easy to take care of. He is a little over a year old now and about 40 pounds. He wont get much bigger or maybe even not bigger at all. We have an older dog / two little kids / 1 baby on the way. With our schedule between work and family it is just difficult to consistently take him out on longer walks or show him much love and we think Bowie would be better suited in a home that can show him the love and affection he deserves!

Story
Ceniza's life began with hardship. Likely used for breeding and then discarded, she came to us as a timid one-year-old. Now about six years old, she has grown into a loving, gentle companion who is easy to be around. She is quiet, affectionate, great with kids, and loves both cuddles and playtime. Her sweet, energetic spirit has brought so much joy into our lives. Because of her past, Ceniza does have challenges. She is not friendly toward other animals, so she would do best as the only pet in a household. She also struggles with anxiety when left alone, so she feels safest being crated during those times. While these needs may sound like obstacles, they are small compared to the warmth and loyalty she gives every day. As much as we adore her, our relocation makes it impossible to give her the stable environment she deserves. Finding her a new home is a heartbreaking decision, but the right family will gain a devoted companion who will reward them with endless love and joy.

We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs to their new home leaving by January 9th 2026 (could be sooner!) to the east coast from where we are located here in Southern California. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Abbie to our trip for the right home/home! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Her adoption fee, along with her adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Abbie ultimately finalizing her adoption. Meet Abbie 💗 Abbie is the kind of little dog who slips into your life with a softness that feels like she was always meant to be there. She has the sweetest, most serene temperament—gentle, loving, and incredibly attentive to her person. At just over 8 lbs with a straight, hypoallergenic Havanese-Poodle mix coat, she’s a delicate, elegant little companion who loves with her whole heart in the quietest, most comforting ways. She doesn’t need grand gestures or constant activity; she simply wants to belong, to be held, to be near, and to be someone’s steady little shadow throughout the day. She came to us from an older gentleman in a wheelchair who adored his dogs dearly but could no longer physically care for them. His love for them was clear, and making the choice to surrender them was an act of true devotion—putting their futures first. Although the dogs in his home knew one another, their bond was truly with him, not with each other, so it became very clear that finding individual families for each of them was the right next step. Abbie has taken that transition with so much grace. She trusts easily, she loves openly, and she holds no hesitation in her heart. Abbie is wonderfully behaved and exceptionally easy to live with. She is house trained and on a consistent 3–4 hour outdoor potty routine. She sleeps peacefully in her crate at night, though she would happily curl up beside your bed or in it if you prefer—she is very adaptable and thrives in routine and closeness. She’s not a barker, but she will softly alert you to unfamiliar noises in a way that feels helpful rather than reactive. She loves other dogs and cats and blends in with any home dynamic beautifully, though her true happiness comes from being with her person. She has a playful side that comes out in the yard during sunbathing sessions, but even then, it’s gentle and joyful, never chaotic or overwhelming. Abbie enjoys grooming and adores being pampered—she stands calmly and loves every bit of the attention. She is wonderful on road trips, happiest resting in your lap, which is why we recommend a booster seat for safe travel when she can’t be held by someone other than the driver. Her manners in the home are impeccable; she is calm, respectful, and content simply being near you. Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/abbie-1 She is fully vetted—spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and has had a full dental cleaning with necessary extractions, along with a complete exam by our veterinarian. Her adoption fee helps cover her medical care, dental extractions, microchip, months of care with us, her grooming needs, and the training and structure we’ve provided to prepare her for this next chapter. Note: Abbie will need to be on a soft food diet for now as sadly almost all of her teeth had to be removed. (She has 6 teeth left, two of which are her bottom k9's so no, her tounge isn't hanging out (it's a question we get a lot!!) She is as beautiful and perfect as ever, just with less teeth 🙃 Abbie is ready for someone who wants a loving, peaceful, deeply devoted companion. If you’re looking for a soft little soul who will give you her entire heart without hesitation, she may be your perfect match.

Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Benny to our trip for the right home/homes! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! His adoption fee, along with his adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Benny ultimately finalizing his adoption. Meet Benny 💙 Some puppies simply have “it” — that gentle spark, that intuitive sweetness, that soft, loving presence that wraps around you the moment they crawl into your arms. Benny is one of those rare little souls. Even at such a young age, he carries a calm confidence and an emotional awareness that feels far beyond his months. He came to us from a home where he was deeply loved and spoiled in the best ways, and you can feel that history in how connected he is to people. The devotion he offers is pure, immediate, and full-hearted. His journey to us was a tender one. His prior owner adored him and struggled tremendously with the decision to surrender him. A sudden breakup and the need to return to full-time work meant Benny would no longer have the companionship he was accustomed to — and she knew that wouldn’t be fair to him. She chose the selfless path, asking us to take him in and ensure he found a home where he could continue to be someone’s whole world. Because that is exactly what Benny is meant to be: a true companion, a shadow, a love-at-your-side kind of dog. He is incredibly smart — shockingly so for his age — and don’t let his size fool you. When you call “Benny!”, you hear his little paws pattering toward you from wherever he is, bursting with excitement just to be close. His heart lives for connection. And he is doing phenomenal at his house training — truly remarkable for a puppy his age. He goes outside every couple of hours to use the restroom, and due to his tiny size, he is always supervised for his safety. He’s attentive, willing, and eager to learn, which makes him such a joy in a structured home. He is a snuggler to his core, happiest pressed against your chest or curled at your side. Sleeping in bed with his person is one of the joys of his life, so if dogs in the bed aren’t your thing, he may not be the right fit. His previous owner let him be her cuddle buddy, and that comfort has shaped who he is. He’s the kind of dog who wants to wake up with his head on your pillow and fall asleep knowing you’re right there. Crates, though, are not his preference. We believe it’s the feeling of confinement — after being so bonded to his person his whole life, he simply doesn’t understand being separated or closed away. He isn’t destructive, and he isn’t mischievous; he just thrives when he’s near the people he loves. Being kept apart feels foreign to him, and we want to honor the emotional safety he has built through closeness, not separation. He LOVES his beds — so much so that we keep one in every space he spends time in. He’ll flop into them dramatically, roll on his back, or tuck himself in like a tiny burrito. In the car, he enjoys looking out the window, taking in the world with those big expressive eyes. And at the groomer? He’s an absolute dream. Being pampered suits him, and he handles grooming like a seasoned professional. Leash training hasn’t begun yet, as we needed to make sure all his vaccines were fully current before introducing him to the outside world. Now that he’s officially cleared, his new world is opening up — and with his eager-to-please personality, we have no doubt he’ll take to leash training beautifully and naturally. On the health side, Benny was born 5/22/25 and is completely current on everything age-appropriate. He has had a great full exam with our vet, is microchipped, has had his deworming based on fecal results sent to the lab, and is going home with a health certificate showing he has been fully cleared for adoption. He weighs 5.5 lbs currently and is expected to be around 10–12 lbs full grown. He is a purebred Maltese, and everything about him — his coat, his temperament, his expression — reflects the sweetness and refinement of his breed. Because he is still so young, he will be going home on a neuter contract, as it is important to allow him time to grow and mature before being fixed. What Benny needs most is someone who truly wants a companion. Someone who loves a dog that follows them from room to room, listens for their voice, and melts into their lap the moment they sit down. He thrives on closeness and emotional connection. He is eager to please, affectionate, and has one of those soft, intuitive personalities that simply makes a home feel warmer. If you’re looking for a sweet soul who will meet you at the door every day with his whole heart shining in his eyes, Benny is waiting for you. His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/benny which covers all of his veterinary care to date (including vaccines, microchip/registration, fecal testing, deworming, his full exam, and his issued health certificate), as well as the months of care, meals, grooming upkeep, and training he has received with us. Every adoption directly supports our ability to continue rescuing and preparing dogs like Benny for the beautiful lives they deserve.

Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Naveen and Jasmine to our trip for the right home/homes! As always for our adopters peace of mind we never ask for anything up front! Their adoption fees, along with their adopting families share of travel costs will be due the day we arrive in person with Naveen and Jasmine ultimately finalizing their adoptions. Naveen and Jasmine are a stunning pair of Goldendoodle siblings who remind us every day how special it is when love runs in pairs. Their soft, hypoallergenic coats shimmer like gold in the sun, but it’s their hearts — pure, joyful, and endlessly affectionate — that truly make them shine. These two have grown up side by side, best friends since birth, and their connection is something extraordinary to witness. Here, they’ve shown us what it means to live in harmony — playing, resting, and even asking for attention together (and yes, it’s a full-time job keeping both their tails wagging at once). While we would love to see them adopted together, we know that life sometimes writes its own story. If two wonderful homes come along instead of one, we have every confidence that both will thrive — their love for life and people runs so deep that they’ll carry that warmth wherever they go. Their prior owners loved them deeply and cared for them with great devotion. When they made the difficult decision to move out of the country, they reached out to us through tears, knowing they couldn’t take them along no matter how much they wanted to. It broke their hearts to say goodbye, but they did what every selfless pet parent hopes they would do in such a situation — ensured their beloved dogs would remain safe, loved, and secure. Their choice gave Naveen and Jasmine the opportunity to continue their lives surrounded by care and affection while waiting for their next forever family. Both dogs are incredibly well-mannered and wonderfully social. They’re great with other dogs, gentle with children, and loving with both men and women. They have amazing house manners and are easy to live with — the kind of dogs that make your home feel calmer just by being in it. They know all their basic commands — sit, come, stay, down, and shake — and follow them with eagerness and pride. They’re not barkers by nature but will use their voices when something unfamiliar catches their attention, always mindful and quick to settle once reassured. Naveen, the charming brother, has a deep love for water and takes daily swims in our pool, gliding through the water like it’s his second home. Jasmine, his sweet sister, is his quiet cheerleader — she prefers the shallow end, dipping her paws and keeping a watchful eye on him as he plays. They balance each other perfectly: where Naveen is adventurous and playful, Jasmine is thoughtful and tender. Together, they create a perfect sense of peace and joy. They adore affection and will melt into your lap the moment you start petting them — sometimes both at once, each resting their heads gently against you as if reminding you that love is meant to be shared. Good thing I have two hands (one for each 😂). They’re affectionate, loyal, and happiest when close to their people — whether that means curling up by your feet, following you from room to room, or sharing quiet moments at the end of the day. Both are house trained, crate trained, and sleep soundly through the night — whether in their crate or on a bed beside yours. They love walks, are wonderful on leash, and travel perfectly on road trips, hopping right in with bright eyes and wagging tails, ready for the next adventure. They’re excellent at the groomers and take their pampering sessions like the professionals they are. And, of course, they’re huge fans of treats — which makes every bit of training as fun as it is easy. They’ve continued to grow and thrive with us — perfecting their manners, strengthening their confidence, and showing everyone who meets them what pure devotion looks like. They are dogs who love with their entire hearts, and whether they go home together or separately, they will bring nothing but happiness and warmth to the families lucky enough to call them their own. Adoption Fees are on our website at the bottom of their adoption listings at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/naveen-and-jasmine Both Naveen and Jasmine will be fully vetted, microchipped, vaccinated, and cleared by our veterinarian prior to adoption. Their exams are set for November 11, 2025, and any necessary updates will be reflected at that time. Their adoption fees cover all veterinary care, including their exams and any procedures or treatments recommended by our vet, as well as the care, training, and professional grooming they’ve received while with us. Naveen and Jasmine are everything wonderful about family — loyal, loving, joyful, and kind. Whether their journey continues side by side or along two separate but equally happy paths, one thing is certain: they will fill their forever homes with a love that’s as golden as their hearts. 💛🐾
