Maxey is a 3-year-old, 80 to 90 pound mixed breed dog. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has no medical issues. He is house trained, crate trained, and potty trained. He knows basic commands, is food motivated, and has no separation anxiety. He has been left home uncrated without problems.Maxey is affectionate, loyal, and medium energy. He likes playing ball, cuddling, sleeping near his people, and being part of the action. He does well with strangers and is friendly with both men and women. Children are unknown. He has a great relationship with his K9 brother, but he does not do well with other pets outside of that bond. He should be placed as the only pet in the home.

This is Heidi. She is 11 years young. lol. She’s very playful and likes to take a couple of naps a day. She will definitely let you know if someone is at the door or if they pull up. Very protective of her surroundings. Loves to get her belly rubbed. Hate to get rid of her but under the circumstances I have to. Thanks for looking.

Story
Jethro’s story is a sad one. He was saved from an abusive situation in Philadelphia three years ago. A Good Samaritan brought him to a local vet hospital where he received the care he needed and was slowly nursed back to health. When no one came forward for him, he began his search for a new family to love. Despite spending most of his day in a kennel at the vet, he is described as such a happy, sweet, and loving boy.    Jethro is about 5-7 years old and 60 lb. He is on maintenance meds to keep his skin healthy. Vet staff absolutely adore him and make sure he has time to socialize with people and other dogs. He is friendly with the dogs he has met there, but we’re not sure if he has ever lived with another canine, so a pre-meet and slow introductions are always recommended. He is too rough with cats and therefore not a good match for families with felines. Jethro listens well, comes when called, knows how to sit when prompted, and is very attentive to his person.    Jethro is long overdue to be back in a home, giving and receiving the love he so deserves. If you’d like to meet this happy hound, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com and we can connect you to the vet hospital where he’s in boarding.    Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application to forward.(Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
Smith was sadly hit by a tractor trailer leaving him paralyzed from the waist down and his family surrendered him at the hospital. He is able to defecate on his own but requires some assistance with emptying his bladder. He is a sweet lovable boy and still races around in his wheel chair. He loves everybody and has tons of love to give. His happy go lucky demeanor would make him a fabulous therapy dog. He does not allow his handicapability to dampen his spirits and is an inspiration to all who meet him. Story
Violet is a loving, people-oriented pup who was adopted 2 years ago and has been an absolute cuddle bug ever since. She adores being close to her humans – her favorite things are going for walks and then curling up on your lap to relax..  She's also fine just going out in a fenced yard. Unfortunately, Violet and the family's other dog aren’t able to get along, so with a heavy heart the family is looking for a new home where Violet can truly thrive. Violet would do best in: A home where she is the only dog, With someone who loves hugs & snuggles, and has gentle structure, A person or family who enjoys spending time together. She is so deserving of a calm, loving environment where she can be the center of someone’s world and the recipient of lots of warmth and affection. I want to be sure we can get her there! While experienced owners are always welcome, Vi is very self-sufficient and easy. She is 4.5 years old and 46 lb. If you’re interested in meeting Violet or want to learn more about her, please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com.    (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
Mitsy has become a longer term resident with us and we aren't sure why or how?!? This petite little girl is so cute and such a love bug we don't get it. Mitsy has been in a foster home with us since February! How can this be? Mitsy is beyond ready and reserving of her forever home so don't wait!    Mitsy is around 1.5 years old and a small and compact 30 lbs. She is such a darling and is full of love, cuddles and snuggles. She is dog friendly but we think with the right family could also be an only dog. She can but a bit timid and unsure in new situations so a patient, loving and supportive person or family would be best. She is a playful and silly girl who brings a smile to your face.    Mitsy is crate and house trained. She is excellent in her crate when her foster mom isn't home. She is too interested in cats so no kitties please. Mitsy would be ok in a home with kids 8+. Little kid movement and sounds are too frightening for her. Mitsy loves to zoom in the yard but could also be ok learning to leash walk for exercise. She does potty fine on leash but will need some time to gain confidence with leash walking in busier areas.    Mitsy is so sweet and affectionate and we can't wait for her to find her forever person/people to share this with. She is a world class nap buddy after she has spent time playing. Mitsy occupies herself well with toys, bones and kongs and is a great house guest and co worker while her foster mom works during the day. Don't miss out on this awesome pup!    Email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to get an application!    (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
