Story
Raleigh is an 8-year-old Maltipoo with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. She joined our family as a puppy and has spent her life doing what she does best: being close to her people. Raleigh is a classic lap dog. She loves curling up beside someone on the couch, following her person around the house, and sleeping close by at night. She is affectionate, loyal, and deeply people-oriented. While she loves cuddling, she also has a playful side. When given a yard or open space she occasionally gets the “zoomies” and loves to run and explore. She especially enjoys being outdoors and will happily sunbathe if you let her. We are looking for a calm home where Raleigh can continue living the companion-dog lifestyle she thrives in. She would do best in an adult home where she can be someone’s little shadow and soak up lots of love and attention.

Story
Smith was sadly hit by a tractor trailer leaving him paralyzed from the waist down and his family surrendered him at the hospital. He is able to defecate on his own but requires some assistance with emptying his bladder. He is a sweet lovable boy and still races around in his wheel chair. He loves everybody and has tons of love to give. His happy go lucky demeanor would make him a fabulous therapy dog. He does not allow his handicapability to dampen his spirits and is an inspiration to all who meet him. Story
Jethro’s story is a sad one. He was saved from an abusive situation in Philadelphia three years ago. A Good Samaritan brought him to a local vet hospital where he received the care he needed and was slowly nursed back to health. When no one came forward for him, he began his search for a new family to love. Despite spending most of his day in a kennel at the vet, he is described as such a happy, sweet, and loving boy.    Jethro is about 5-7 years old and 60 lb. He is on maintenance meds to keep his skin healthy. Vet staff absolutely adore him and make sure he has time to socialize with people and other dogs. He is friendly with the dogs he has met there, but we’re not sure if he has ever lived with another canine, so a pre-meet and slow introductions are always recommended. He is too rough with cats and therefore not a good match for families with felines. Jethro listens well, comes when called, knows how to sit when prompted, and is very attentive to his person.    Jethro is long overdue to be back in a home, giving and receiving the love he so deserves. If you’d like to meet this happy hound, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com and we can connect you to the vet hospital where he’s in boarding.    Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application to forward.(Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
Mitsy is a fun sized pup who very cute, affectionate, sweet, snugly, playful and silly. This 1 year old girl is a super size at just under 30lbs. She has a little filling out to do but is full grown. Our guess would be that she may be terrier and possibly Chihuahua with some bunny mixed in there too.    Mitsy has been doing really well in her foster home! She gets along very well with other dogs and really enjoys playing chase with them in the backyard. In between zoomie sessions she is snuggled up for a nap or occupying herself with a bone or toy. Mitsy adores people and loves to give and receive affection. She is hoping to be a lap dog in her forever home. She would also really appreciate a fenced yard since zooming and hopping around is her  specialty. We do not know how Mitsy would be around cats.    This sweetie pie has been great in the crate. She is quiet and well behaved when crated overnight and when her foster mom isn't home. Mitsy is still working on house training but is doing very well and we understand the weather lately hasn't made going outside the most desirable.    Mitsy can be a little skittish with loud noises and sudden movements so we think kids in a home should be 8 years and up. She takes a little bit to be fully trusting of people and other dogs but it doesn't take her too long and it's well worth it. This girl's playful and funny antics will bring a smile to your face and her cuddles are top notch.    If you are interested in Mitsy please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com.    (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
