Story
Manny is a handsome guy with a great personality. He loves to run and play. Although he definitely enjoys the company of other dogs, some dogs will tolerate his antics, and some will not. Any interaction between him and other dogs would need to be supervised until it is certain everyone gets along. Like many sighthounds, Manny has a high small prey drive, so potential adopters would need to be mindful of that on walks. He would probably love running critters or birds out of vegetable gardens or vineyards! When he is not running or playing, Manny is perfectly content to be stretched out on a couch snoozing. This dog is being cared for by: National Greyhound Adoption Program 10901 Dutton Road Philadelphia, PA 19154 PA Kennel License #3069. Our adoption areas include PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, DC and NoVA.

Story
Benny is 80lbs of pure best friend! We pulled Benny from an overcrowded municipal shelter because he really stood out in the crowd. Benny loves people and always brings the fun. He is non-quarrelsome with other dogs and takes correction well when/if he forgets his manners. He would make an excellent family pet and would love an active family or owner that would take him on adventures. The best thing about Benny is that he also settles really well and is highly trainable. If you are looking to add some joy to your life, Benny is your guy! Story
Gem is a sweet but shy girl that has been at our shelter almost her whole life. She is very avoidant during meet and greets so she consistently gets passed over despite being a solid dog. She did spend a short while in a home with one of her littermates, but one of the other resident dogs was not a fan of Gem. Gem is looking for a quiet home with adults, or a family with children 16+ and another passive dog. Here are some great things about our girl: -Once she opens up, she is very silly and goofy -She loves sleeping in the bed with her humans at night. She will stay put all night and if possible, she likes to be right by you. She will also ask for lots of belly rubs and will give you her paw to shake. -She enjoys sitting on the couch or a chair during the day. She also likes to sleep on a dog bed. She would soak in the sun in the sunroom with her dog bed. -She is house trained. -She loved walks in the neighborhood -She loves toys! She especially likes her ladybug squeaky toy with squeakers all in the body. She would run around the house and carry that with her. She also likes nylabones. -She loves to chase other dogs and be chased BUT she doesn't like when it's two dogs chasing or vice versa. We think she would prefer to run around with just one other dog. Wrestling and rough play makes Gem nervous. - She is a big fan of cheese. Could you be Gem's forever home? Story
This is Crockett, a stunning wolfhound(?)/schnauzer(?)/doodle(?)/labrador(?) mix, who was surrendered to us because city life was too exciting for him. Crockett is a big, strong boy, at almost 100lbs. He has a medium energy level and has been completely appropriate with every dog we've ever introduced him to. He is comical, eager to please, smart, affectionate.....and sometimes a bit stubborn! He is very chill and is not the kind of dog that is up in your face all the time.Crockett would do best in a suburban or rural area, with dog savvy adult owners that like to throw a ball and perhaps another dog. Due to his size, Crockett would not be a good fit for a home with children. Please note that Crockett will need regular grooming. This dog is being cared for by: National Greyhound Adoption Program 10901 Dutton Road Philadelphia, PA 19154 PA Kennel License #3069. Our adoption areas include PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, DC and NoVA.

Sweet, funny doxie mix Nicholas is ready for his forever home where he can be the center of attention! He's fine with dogs but not a buddy for one. Enjoys meeting all people, loves his person, being close, cuddling. 5 years, 13 pounds, Nick had a small bout of IVDD, recovered quickly with rest, steroids. His walk is off a bit, but he walks, runs fast, is not hampered in living his little life at all. Nicholas enjoys squeaky toys, will carry them to you for play or squeak them by himself. He's a really wonderful best friend. Fostered near Philadelphia, PA. Adoption fee $275 www.longdogsrescue.org/application
