Story
ugo's Story Meet Hugo 💙 Male • Pitbull • ~50 lbs • Handsome boy Hugo is so over the kennel life—and honestly, we don’t blame him. Being in the cage already sends him into overstimulation, and trying to put him back in is truly heartbreaking. His anxiety ramps up fast, and it’s clear this environment is just too much for him. When it comes to food, Hugo eats like it might disappear—devouring meals as if it’s the first he’s had in months. We’re working on slow feeding so he doesn’t make himself sick, and helping him learn that food will always be there and never taken away. Because of this, he’s not very gentle with treats yet—he’s still in survival mode. Despite all of that, Hugo is an absolute charmer. He loved every new person he met and soaked up the attention. He’s a strong pull on leash, so leash training and a confident handler will be important as he settles in. ✅ Dog friendly ✅ Cat friendly 👶 We suggest older kids only, due to his high food drive and lack of awareness around little fingers Hugo is a sweet, social, affectionate boy who is completely done with kennel life and desperately needs a home—or foster—that will give him stability, patience, and space to decompress. Once he does, we know this boy is going to shine. If you’re ready for a handsome, loving dog who just needs a chance, Hugo is waiting 🐶💙 💌 Adoption application: https://www.g Show more

Story
Vixxen's Story Meet Vixxen 🤍 Vixxen is a 7-year-young female Pitbull with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She came to us after her previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender her due to not having enough time—but Vixxen hasn’t let that dim her spirit one bit. She’s incredibly smart and loves getting out of her kennel. In fact, she’ll do just about anything to make sure you notice her! Her kennel manners might not be picture-perfect, but that’s only because she’s working overtime to make sure you hear her and don’t pass her by. Once that kennel door opens, her true self shines—she’s ready to walk, play, and soak up all the love she can get. 🤗 Vixxen is a strong, solid girl weighing around 65–70 lbs. She’s dog-friendly, loyal to her people, and would thrive with a family who’s ready to give her the time and attention she’s been missing. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to be seen, loved, and included—Vixxen is waiting for you. Nyla's Story Meet Nyla! 🐾 Nyla is a beautiful 4-year-old female Shar-Pei/Pit Bull mix who’s ready to find her forever home. She arrived as a stray, and sadly no one ever came to reclaim her—but she hasn’t let that dim her joyful spirit. Nyla weighs about 53 pounds and is full of playful energy. She absolutely loves toys and is the kind of girl who happily brings them over to share with her human friends. On walks, Nyla can pull on the leash, but with consistent training and guidance, this is something she’s expected to improve quickly. She has tested well with other dogs and even cats, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet household. Friendly, fun-loving, and eager to connect, Nyla is now ready for adoption and can’t wait to meet the family who will give her the loving home she deserves. 💕 Apply to adopt Nyla at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Valentina's Story Meet Valentina 💕 Valentina is a 4-year-old American Bully with the sweetest smile and an even sweeter personality. She arrived at the shelter as a stray on 12/30/25, and from the moment she walked in, she’s been winning hearts left and right. This lovely girl absolutely adores people and soaks up attention. Valentina passed her behavioral assessment with flying colors—she does great with other dogs and has even shown she can get along with cats, too! Valentina is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped, so she’s truly ready to head straight into her forever home. All she’s missing now is a family to love her as much as she’ll love them. If you’re looking for a friendly, well-rounded companion with a contagious smile, Valentina may be the perfect match for you. 🐾 Apply to adopt Valentina at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Leroy's Story 🐾 Meet Leroy! 🐾 This 7-month-old American Bulldog mix is truly the cutest little guy around 💙 At 37 lbs, Leroy is a growing boy with a heart of gold and a whole lot of love to give. ✨ About Leroy: • Male, 7 months old • Sweetheart personality • Loves toys 🧸 • Enjoys everyone he meets • Pretty easy walker on leash • Tested fine with cats 🐱 • Would do great with kids 👧🧒 Leroy is still a puppy and will need continued training and manners, but he’s eager to learn and very lovable. When it comes to other dogs, he can be selective—he wasn’t a fan of a super playful, high-energy dog but did much better with a low-key, calm dog who respected his space. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun, affectionate pup who just needs some guidance and structure, Leroy might be your guy 🐶💙 📩 Get your applications in! https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Peyton's Story ✨ Meet Peyton ✨ 8 years young | American Bully | 55 lbs of solid sweetness Peyton’s story starts quietly. She was found as a stray, and while we don’t know what she’s been through, it’s clear she’s learned to move through the world gently and cautiously. Peyton is very timid and shy, a true low-key, chill kind of girl. She isn’t looking for chaos or constant activity — she’s hoping for a calm, peaceful home where she can finally exhale. She needs time, space, and patience to decompress and feel safe. This isn’t a dog who rushes into affection. She will come to you when she’s ready, and when she does, it means everything. Because of her fearfulness, we recommend no young children. Peyton does best with respectful, grown humans who understand that love doesn’t always look like hugs and constant touching. She doesn’t want to be smothered — she wants to be understood. The good news? ✔️ Dog-friendly ✔️ Cat-friendly ✔️ Calm, gentle, and easygoing And when Peyton starts to feel comfortable? You’ll see it — her little butt starts to wag, and your heart will melt. 💕 She’s absolutely adorable in her own quiet way, and once she trusts you, that bond is special and deeply rewarding. Peyton is a great girl who just needs someone willing to go slow, respect her boundaries, and show her that the world doesn’t have to be scary. If you have patience and a calm hom Show more
