Story
Vixxen's Story Meet Vixxen 🤍 Vixxen is a 7-year-young female Pitbull with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She came to us after her previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender her due to not having enough time—but Vixxen hasn’t let that dim her spirit one bit. She’s incredibly smart and loves getting out of her kennel. In fact, she’ll do just about anything to make sure you notice her! Her kennel manners might not be picture-perfect, but that’s only because she’s working overtime to make sure you hear her and don’t pass her by. Once that kennel door opens, her true self shines—she’s ready to walk, play, and soak up all the love she can get. 🤗 Vixxen is a strong, solid girl weighing around 65–70 lbs. She’s dog-friendly, loyal to her people, and would thrive with a family who’s ready to give her the time and attention she’s been missing. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to be seen, loved, and included—Vixxen is waiting for you. Story
Luna 's Story Meet Luna, a beautiful 3-year-old female husky with a striking presence and a spirited personality. Luna was adopted just a few months ago but has recently found her way back to us. Luna is a smart and active girl, as many huskies are, and she’ll do best with an owner who understands the breed and can meet her physical and mental needs. She can be selective with other dogs, so careful introductions are important, and she would do best in a home without cats. We also recommend a household without small children, where her boundaries and energy level can be respected. On walks, Luna is enthusiastic and tends to pull on the leash, so continued training will help her become a more polished walking companion. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she has great potential to learn and grow. Luna is full of personality and is ready to bond deeply with the right person or family. If you have husky experience and are looking for a loyal, energetic companion, Luna just might be the perfect match. We are now accepting applications for this special girl. Please apply for Luna at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Arya 's Story Meet Arya – Your Future Adventure Buddy! 🐾❄️ Arya is a stunning 17-week-old purebred Husky with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! This high-energy girl is always ready for her next adventure—whether that’s running, playing chase, exploring the outdoors, or tossing around her favorite toys. She’s incredibly dog-friendly and would thrive in a home with another young, playful pup who can keep up with her spirited play style. Arya plays hard and loves even harder, so a canine companion who enjoys a bit of rough-and-tumble fun would be her perfect match! Arya absolutely adores people and is eager to learn—she already knows her “sit” and “down” commands and is continuing to build her skills every day. Like many puppies, she’s still working on her manners, including her mouthiness (those Husky puppy teeth are no joke!), so a home without very young children would be best while she continues learning. She’s currently living with a cat in her foster home and does tend to chase, but with a confident, dog-savvy cat and proper introductions, she could potentially coexist peacefully. Crate training is a work in progress—Arya may howl when she can’t see her people, but she does settle down with time. With patience and consistency, she’s sure to keep improving. Arya is looking for an active home that understands the needs of a smart, energetic breed and is ready to continue guiding her as she grows into an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, adventurous, and affectionate pup to join your life, Arya might just be your perfect match! 🐕💙 Arya is in a FOSTER home, she is not at our Shelter. To meet Arya, get your application in and we will set up a meet with her foster family! Story
Gertrude 's Story Meet Gertrude! 🐾 Gertrude is a sweet 7-year-old American Bulldog weighing about 80 pounds, and she’s ready to find a loving home to call her own. Through no fault of her own, Gertrude was surrendered when her owner’s living situation changed. Despite the big transition, she has remained the affectionate, gentle girl everyone loves. Gertrude absolutely adores people and thrives on attention. She’s the kind of dog who will happily lean in for pets, follow you around the house, and keep you company while you relax. She’s also housetrained, making the transition into her new home even easier. One of Gertrude’s best qualities is how well she gets along with others. She does great with other dogs, cats, farm animals, and children, making her a wonderful candidate for many different types of families. At 7 years old, Gertrude has the perfect balance of maturity and personality. She still enjoys spending time with her people but also knows how to settle in and relax. Gertrude is ready to leave the shelter behind and start her next chapter with a family who will love her as much as she loves them. ❤️ Applications are now being accepted for this wonderful girl. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion, Gertrude may be the perfect match for you. Story
Paris's Story 🌸 Meet Paris 🌸 This stunning 3-year-old Old English Bulldog mix has been with us since 6/26, and what a journey she’s had. Paris was returned once for being “growly,” but we’re happy to share — that’s not the whole story. Since leaving that situation, Paris has been showing up beautifully. Paris spent most of her life living outdoors. Adjusting to indoor life has been a big transition, but with time, patience, and a loving foster home, she has truly started to shine. Watching her learn what it means to feel safe inside a home has been incredible. 💛 What We’ve Learned in Foster: • She prefers women — she bonds more quickly and seems to feel safest with them. • She needs to be the only pet in the home. • She is crate trained when left alone. Paris is looking for an experienced dog owner — not a first-time home — who understands decompression, structure, and slow introductions. Dogs who grow up outdoors often need patience and guidance to fully adjust to home life. With the right leadership and consistency, they flourish… and Paris is well on her way. She doesn’t need perfection — she needs understanding. She doesn’t need instant trust — she needs someone willing to earn it. And once you do? Her loyalty is something special. 🐾 We are now accepting applications for Paris. If you believe in second chances and have the experience to help her continue thriving, she may be the perfect match for you. Apply today to meet this resilient, beautiful girl at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-

Story
Calla 's Story Meet Calla 💙🤍 Calla is a beautiful blue-and-white, four-year-old Pitbull with a gentle soul and a heart that just needs a little time to feel safe. She arrived at the shelter as a stray, and while new situations can be a bit overwhelming for her at first, patience and kindness go a long way with this sweet girl. Calla tends to warm up more quickly to women, but once she trusts you, her loyal and loving nature really shines. Calla is a big fan of her toys and isn’t shy about letting you know how she feels about them—she can get a little vocal and possessive, so she’ll do best in a child free home and with someone who understands and can help manage her enthusiasm. She does well with other dogs and may enjoy a canine companion, but cats are a bit too scary for her, so a cat-free home is best. Looking for a calm, understanding home where she can settle in at her own pace, Calla would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give this sweet girl the love and stability she deserves. In return, she’ll offer quiet devotion and plenty of personality. 🐾 Please apply for Calla at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50
