Story
Nyla's Story Meet Nyla! 🐾 Nyla is a beautiful 4-year-old female Shar-Pei/Pit Bull mix who’s ready to find her forever home. She arrived as a stray, and sadly no one ever came to reclaim her—but she hasn’t let that dim her joyful spirit. Nyla weighs about 53 pounds and is full of playful energy. She absolutely loves toys and is the kind of girl who happily brings them over to share with her human friends. On walks, Nyla can pull on the leash, but with consistent training and guidance, this is something she’s expected to improve quickly. She has tested well with other dogs and even cats, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet household. Friendly, fun-loving, and eager to connect, Nyla is now ready for adoption and can’t wait to meet the family who will give her the loving home she deserves. 💕 Apply to adopt Nyla at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Vixxen's Story Meet Vixxen 🤍 Vixxen is a 7-year-young female Pitbull with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She came to us after her previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender her due to not having enough time—but Vixxen hasn’t let that dim her spirit one bit. She’s incredibly smart and loves getting out of her kennel. In fact, she’ll do just about anything to make sure you notice her! Her kennel manners might not be picture-perfect, but that’s only because she’s working overtime to make sure you hear her and don’t pass her by. Once that kennel door opens, her true self shines—she’s ready to walk, play, and soak up all the love she can get. 🤗 Vixxen is a strong, solid girl weighing around 65–70 lbs. She’s dog-friendly, loyal to her people, and would thrive with a family who’s ready to give her the time and attention she’s been missing. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to be seen, loved, and included—Vixxen is waiting for you. Please apply for Vixxen at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
eyton's Story ✨ Meet Peyton ✨ 8 years young | American Bully | 55 lbs of solid sweetness Peyton’s story begins quietly. She was found as a stray, and while we may never know what she’s been through, it’s clear she’s learned to move through the world gently and cautiously. Peyton is very timid and shy — a true low-key, chill kind of girl. She isn’t looking for chaos or constant activity. What she’s hoping for is a calm, peaceful home where she can finally exhale. She needs time, space, and patience to decompress and feel safe. This isn’t a dog who rushes into affection. She’ll come to you when she’s ready — and when she does, it means everything. Because of her sensitive nature, we recommend a home without young children. Peyton does best with respectful, understanding adults who know that love doesn’t always look like hugs and constant touching. She doesn’t want to be smothered — she wants to be understood. She can be selective with other dogs and would do best in a home without cats. And when Peyton starts to feel comfortable — you’ll see it. Her little wiggle starts, her butt begins to wag, and suddenly your heart melts. 💕 She’s absolutely adorable in her own quiet way, and once she trusts you, the bond you build with her is deeply special and incredibly rewarding. Peyton is a wonderful girl who simply needs someone willing to go slow, respect her boundaries, and show her that the world doesn’t have to be scary. If you have patience and a calm home, Peyton might just be the perfect companion you didn’t know you were waiting for. 🐾💛 💌 Adoption application: https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50 Show less

Story
Blaki's Story Meet Blaki 🐾 Blaki is a stunning husky mix, male, about 80 lbs of pure love and personality. He came to us with a microchip, but sadly his owner never came for him—so now he’s ready for a brand-new chapter. This high-energy boy is built for adventure. Long hikes, beach walks, exploring new trails—whatever you’re into, Blaki will happily be your walking buddy. He is strong on leash, so a confident, experienced handler is a must. Despite his size, Blaki truly believes he’s a lap dog. He will lean all 80 lbs into you for hugs, shower you with a million kisses, and make sure you never feel unloved. He’s a lover, not a fighter through and through. ✔️ Dog friendly ✔️ Good with kids, but due to his jumpy enthusiasm, we recommend children who are steady on their feet ❌ No cats—he’d prefer a feline-free home Blaki’s giant heart just hasn’t caught up with his giant body yet, and he doesn’t always realize his own strength. What he does know is how to love HARD. Someone take this hunk of love home and give him the forever family he deserves! ❤️🐺 💌 Adoption application: https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Calla 's Story Meet Calla 💙🤍 Calla is a beautiful blue-and-white, ten-year-old Pitbull with a gentle soul and a heart that just needs a little time to feel safe. She arrived at the shelter as a stray, and while new situations can be a bit overwhelming for her at first, patience and kindness go a long way with this sweet girl. Calla tends to warm up more quickly to women, but once she trusts you, her loyal and loving nature really shines. Calla is a big fan of her toys and isn’t shy about letting you know how she feels about them—she can get a little vocal and possessive, so she’ll do best in a child free home and with someone who understands and can help manage her enthusiasm. She does well with other dogs and may enjoy a canine companion, but cats are a bit too scary for her, so a cat-free home is best. Looking for a calm, understanding home where she can settle in at her own pace, Calla would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give a senior dog the love and stability she deserves. In return, she’ll offer quiet devotion and plenty of personality. 🐾 Please apply for Calla at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-50

Story
Paris's Story 🌸 Meet Paris 🌸 This stunning 3-year-old Old English Bulldog mix has been with us since 6/26, and what a journey she’s had. Paris was returned once for being “growly,” but we’re happy to share — that’s not the whole story. Since leaving that situation, Paris has been showing up beautifully. Paris spent most of her life living outdoors. Adjusting to indoor life has been a big transition, but with time, patience, and a loving foster home, she has truly started to shine. Watching her learn what it means to feel safe inside a home has been incredible. 💛 What We’ve Learned in Foster: • She prefers women — she bonds more quickly and seems to feel safest with them. • She needs to be the only pet in the home. • She is crate trained when left alone. Paris is looking for an experienced dog owner — not a first-time home — who understands decompression, structure, and slow introductions. Dogs who grow up outdoors often need patience and guidance to fully adjust to home life. With the right leadership and consistency, they flourish… and Paris is well on her way. She doesn’t need perfection — she needs understanding. She doesn’t need instant trust — she needs someone willing to earn it. And once you do? Her loyalty is something special. 🐾 We are now accepting applications for Paris. If you believe in second chances and have the experience to help her continue thriving, she may be the perfect match for you. Apply today to meet this resilient, beautiful girl at https://www.gloucestercountynj.gov/FormCenter/Animal-Shelter-5/PreAdoption-Application-
