Story
Dalmatian puppy, AKC, hearing tested and has no hearing issues. She is up to date on vaccines. Need to find her a new home because of issues with my older dog. She is a sweetheart and I'm hoping to find someone who has Dalmatian experience. Would be perfect if you have a fenced yard and another friendly dog. She does good with cats too.

Story
Blanche is a sweet, gorgeous ~40 lb. brindle dog. We rescued her when she was about a year old, and have loved our time with her. She is friendly, athletic, enjoys the outdoors, and is happy to snuggle. While she loves people and enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs, she is not calm with toddlers/small children. As we have a new baby, we are making the very difficult decision to look for a new home for Blanche. We know she will make a wonderful companion for a new owner or family. She is housebroken, and she knows the commands: sit, down, wait, off, paw (shake), and spin. She is fully up to date on all vaccinations. She has been happily living with another dog for about 4 years. The other dog is smaller (15 lbs.) and definitely the beta. Blanche may be happiest as an only pet, as they do get into small scuffles periodically. But she is very social, and enjoys playing with dog friends and meeting dogs when out on a walk.

Story
Frankie was recently rescued from a NY Shelter where he was picked up as a stray. No one claimed him so DCAR was happy to bring him into our rescue. He was very matted when he was found and had to be shaved down. We’ve attached his shelter picture so you can see his pretty coloring. Frankie listens well, comes when he is called, loves to chase balls and curl up on your lap. He’s a sweet, cuddle bug. He is also doing great on house training. Frankie has settled in well at his foster home but he has developed house guarding issues. He does not like strangers coming into his space. He barks loudly and aggressively in an effort to scare people away. He recently saw a behaviorist for an evaluation and we will be working on correcting this behavior. He will need an adopter who is willing to continue his training and help him feel less anxious. Frankie would be great as an only dog but is good with other dogs too. Frankie's perfect home is a house that does not get a lot of visitors and no small children. Fence preferred but all applications will be considered. This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW! We currently adopt in the states of NY, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We can not accept applications from other states at this time. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html Our adoption fees are on our application. All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped. We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs. We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.

Story
> Secure fenced yard is a plus but he walks well on leash > Another small dog in the home or would be great as an only dog too Biggie is new to rescue and is an owner surrender. He is a Yorkie mix and enjoys cuddles while watching tv. He can be a talker and sometime barky but does listen well. Biggie would make a great companion and how cute is he? Biggie walks well on leash so a fenced in yard isn't required for the right home but preferred. Biggie is being fostered in Maryland and we do not do meet and greets out of the foster's area. If you are interested in Biggie please submit an application. Thanks.

Beagle

Male, 11 yrs

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Fergie is a sweet 11 year old lemon colored Beagle. His owner is moving into assisted living and can no longer care for him. Fergie is fostered with a family where he has been very easy to live with. He is housebroken, crate trained, good with cats (he is fostered with three), enjoys playing with other dogs, and is good with older children. He would likely be fine with young children, but he has not been tested with them. He travels well in the car and is well behaved at the vet. He is quite spry for his age and enjoys leashed walks and playing at the dog park. In the house, he settles down quickly. He likes to sleep on the couch or in his crate. While sometimes shy with new people, he quickly warms up and comes over to be pet or given a treat. Fergie is a friendly, loving companion who would do well in a home with adults who are looking for a dog with moderate energy needs but still has some spunk.
