Story
This gorgeous girl is so lucky to be alive! We were driving down a busy four lane highway when we spotted her run across the highway barely missing getting run down by a large box truck. She ran into the parking lot of a Dollar General so we immediately pulled into the parking lot and luckily she ran up to our van and jumped right in! We tried and tried to find her owner but to no avail. It's hard to see in the pics but she has one blue eye and one golden eye. We suspect she had a little Husky in her but we did a DNA anyway, lots and lots of breeds in her DNA, including 5% Chihuahua! She's a super mutt! Clarice is spayed, fully vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. She is available for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $600

Story
My name is Milo and I am a MIRACLE.   I was found as a stray back in January of 2024 and I was near death with starvation and abandonment during the frigid temps of January in Tennessee.  I had a wonderful foster mom named Brenda step up to take me in and feed me, and take care of my medical needs.  She and Critter Cavalry Rescue are now teaming up to get me a wonderful forever home.  I am good with other dogs and I am a charming kind of guy that is only about 2 years old and weighing 50 pounds.  I am a purebred boy but truly that doesn’t matter as much as the fact that I am a great dog.  I will require a fenced yard, a Husky savvy adopter and a house with that fenced yard.  I am NOT an apartment dog.  I talk too much and I need a few hours daily to hang out in a yard alone just to satisfy my Husky “Call of the Wild” nature.  I am pretty much housebroken and crate trained.   I am going to be tested with cats but I am good with nice dogs that don’t get in my face.  I will defend myself if there is a rude dog approaching.       I can walk on a leash pretty well and I am totally healthy and a happy boy.  I am told that I am a “heartbreaker” dog….. and I am ready to break some hearts soon!  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 27, 2024, 12:38 pm

Story
Our precious Sophie is a castaway from an owner that has come upon hard times and cannot take care of her.  This sweet girl is obviously underweight from not having the food she needed and now at the shelter she is certainly not getting what she needs either.  Sophie at 4 years of age is needing to be spayed and we are needing a place for her to go after the spay.  She weighs only 28 pounds and we know she should probably be 38-40 lbs in reality.  She is currently in a hard core and small, dirty, shelter in Tennessee and we want her OUT and safe and fostered by someone who cares enough to help her get to her next step forever home.  The photographer that went to the shelter and took these pics, said she was so nice and sweet and very good with other dogs.  She has the look and total feel of a Husky girl that only wants to love you and to be loved right back by her humans.  She was easy going, gentle and friendly for pictures.  We feel that she was probably housebroken since was inside with previous owners.    Take a wonderful chance on a “wonderful” dog.  You won’t regret helping Sophie.    Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 27, 2024, 12:38 pm

Hello Im Sky, believed to be around 7 or 8 according to the vet. Im a big baby who loves to run, play and jump. My current owner took me in 2 years ago from some crazy lady beating me in the park. She gave a wonderful time at her home. Unfortunately she is having a hard time with finding someone to watch me when she goes away with the military. Im a good dog I have a old sole and love to cuddle. I bark more than I howl and my howl sounds like a cross between a growl and a howI. love my toys so please dont take them away.

Story
Hudson was brought in as a stray found at Boulder stadium. He was extremely scared and was adverse to anyone trying to leash him. We have worked very hard to socialize Hudson and he has come a long way. He walks very nicely on a leash now and enjoys being around his humans. Hudson does get along with other dogs but doesn't seek out play. He has met a few female husky and shepherd mixes who he will engage in play for a minute but then seem to lose interest and walk away. He is a very balanced dog around other dogs and even dominant males tend to remain calm around him. He has not done well with cats however. Hudson definitely prefers to be around woman and has been reactive to larger or taller men on meet and greets. We feel a home with no children would be the best environment for him. Hudson is very smart and trainable so a person with Husky/Shepherd experience could give Hudson the home he deserves! Email dogs@hitor.org for more info.

Story
Nanook is a gorgeous and unique boy around 2 years old. He is incredibly social and silly with humans, and his quirky personality is perfectly complimented by his goofy looking floppy ear. He is a typical Husky, in terms of activity and energy, thus would do better with older children than younger children.Nanook can struggle with separation anxiety when he is very attached to his humans, and can be dog reactive on the leash.

Story
Meet Kris, a beautiful 3-year-old 45 pound husky mix with a heart as vast as the Kentucky skies he once roamed under. Kris is a puppy at heart - full of life, pure joy and loyalty, with one mesmerizing blue eye that reflects the depths of his longing for a loving home. Despite his undeniable charm and sweet nature, Kris finds himself questioning why he remains overlooked and unchosen by his forever family. Abandoned by his previous owners when they relocated, Kris sought solace in the confines of an outdoor Kentucky shelter. But amidst the bleakness, a glimmer of hope emerged as fate led Kris into the care of Peace4Paws, who recognized his worth and welcomed him with open arms. Now, Kris eagerly seeks the feeling of home, yearning for the joy of belonging to someone who loves him the way he craves to be loved. Kris is the definition of the perfect companion, as his past hasn't hardened his sweet soul — he's man's truest best friend, and adores the company of children, dogs, and cats too. Housebroken, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations, Kris is ready to embark on a new chapter of his life, filled with adventures and sweet moments to share. And we know he will spend his life showing you he was the right choice. With a playful spirit that revels in the great outdoors yet knows the comfort of a quiet evening by your side, Kris longs for someone to spoil with his unwavering love and affection, while hoping to receive the same in return. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.May 26, 2024, 3:40 am

Meet Bandit! This handsome man is a 2 year old male Husky mix. He was found as a stray by our sister shelter and is now ready to find a forever home. He is super sweet and well mannered. He gets along well with other dogs and can be cat tested. He is super friendly and loves just about everyone and everything he meets. He loves to play and even though he's an adult, he is full of puppy energy. He would make a great addition to a family with an active lifestyle! He is currently located down South at our sister shelters and available for pre-adoption. We do transports to NJ once a month. He can't wait to find his forever home!
