Story
Hercules is a Husky who will be 1 on July 24th. He’s a great dog with a lot of personality once he gets to know and trust you. I originally rescued him from a junk yard at 7 months and have had him since trying to find him a forever home. He is house trained and knows general commands. He is a puppy, so he is constantly exploring everything and trying to get a hold of everything he can. He does great with other dogs whether it’s living with them or just meeting them on a walk. He does good with my younger sister, but he does not like to be over loved, so if you have really young children it may not be an ideal fit for him. He is very shy and closed off at first, but as long as you give him time and chicken (his weakness and his high value treat when it comes to training) he’ll grow to love you. All he needs is some time and patience for him to open up.

Story
Suki is a Husky we pulled from a Texas shelter where she was in danger of being euthanized. After arrival we discovered that she needed surgery for ingrown eyelids. We allowed her some time to settle into her new foster home before she underwent the surgery - which was a success! Now she’s all healed from her surgery and her beautiful eyes are wide open. Suki is about 59 lbs. We're unsure of Suki's exact age, and neither are the vets. She's estimated to be between 4 to 7 years old. Regardless of her age, she is energetic, loves her toys, and loves to play with her foster’s resident dog. Don’t get us wrong - she also loves to take naps in her bed so she can be sure to catch up on her beauty sleep. Suki is housebroken and doesn't require a crate. She’s walking nicely on a leash…unless she's distracted by a rabbit :) She gets along well with most dogs that she encounters on her walks. She knows the stay command. She has not been tested with cats. She loves to be loved up and will give you a thank you kiss (when you’ve earned it!). Sadly, Suki was bred too many times, resulting in some sensitivity in her belly and lower back. Consequently, she dislikes people touching these areas and prefers to initiate affection on her own terms. Due to this, we don't recommend young children to be around her, and she would be better suited to a household with older adopters. If you have experience with the breed, have patience, and lots of love to give, please consider giving Suki the forever home and family she so deserves. Suki is currently being fostered in NJ and if you are approved to adopt, she is available for a meet and greet. Story
Bonnie Coco is a female, 3 and a half year old husky/lab mix who weighs 60 pounds.  She is a sweet, affection-seeking girl who forms a strong attachment to her people.  She absolutely loves being around kids and would do best in a home with children and/or other dogs to run and play with.  She gets along great with dogs of all sizes.  She has not been around cats.  She is crate and house trained and also knows basic commands such as "sit", "stay" and "come".  She loves to cuddle and craves attention.  Due to her strong love for her humans, she can be clingy at times and display some separation anxiety behaviors (whine, bark, bite carpets, etc) when separated from them therefore, she will do best in a household where the owners are home a lot and can provide her with a calm, stable environment.  She can be hesitant around new people but will quickly warm up to them especially if they are calm and gentle around her.  She would love a home where the owners have time to take her on daily walks and/or a fenced in backyard so she can run around. Bonnie Coco is an owner surrender.  They love her but their circumstances have changed and they are looking for a loving home for her.  They only want what is best for her. Personality: friendly, playful, affectionate, energetic Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs.  Has not been around cats. Training: housebroken, crate trained, knows some basic commands: sit, stay, come Estimated date of birth: 12/14/2021 Weight: 60 pounds Medical: vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped Location: Currently with a foster in NJ, and once you are approved to adopt, is available for a meet and greet. Story
You know every rescue dog has a pretty significant story that all of us cry over and fight  to help make their life better. This young girl Katya grew up on a pretty despairing property that was full of unaltered cats and dogs and not enough food and sometimes no water and often there was not adequate shelter from all the rain and elements of weather. None of the people around her could take care of all the animals. She was tied out and it broke our heart to go on the property and see the condition shevand others were raised in. Katya has risen above all of that as a one-year-old Husky that weighs 60 lbs. and she is a pure love.   A happy girl with a little bit of shyness because she's never gotten out into the world to experience new things. When we picked her up from the property and took her off that chain we knew she would be smiling very soon. She is always so overjoyed when you cuddle with her and play. She is a mellow Husky with medium energy that is easy to entertain and deal with.  She's lived amongst many cats all her life,  so that typical Husky caution of ' no cats allowed',  doesn't apply to her. She loves children, loves other dogs and she enjoys meeting adults with just a tad shyness and time to warm up to them. We want someone to spoil her rotten. We want someone that will let her sit on their lap and pretend that she's a Chihuahua like she thinks she is in size. She has  an innocence that makes you just want to hug and protect her. She makes you want to give her a better life and future.  If you've got a fenced yard, a Husky loving home, and some time, we want to hear from you. Maybe even just living in an apartment with a dog park could be the much better life that she's looking for. It would be such a better life than what she's had. Let's all come together and find Katya the best new life ever.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 23, 2025, 11:28 am
