Story
Meet Buddy Meet Buddy, a neutered male Spaniel mix with a big heart and a bit of attitude! Buddy is about 10 months old and currently weighs 14 lbs. and probably isn't going to get any bigger. He is microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Buddy needs an at-home adopter only and would not be suitable for an apartment living situation. He also does not like kids, so an adult home only is what Buddy needs. He’s got a snappy side when he's feeling unsure and might nip new people or if he finds himself in a frenzied situation, but with some patience and understanding, he’ll quickly warm up and show you just how sweet he can be. Buddy is a lap dog through and through—he loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for snuggles and affection. He’s a loyal little guy who will bond closely with his person, and once he feels comfortable, he’ll be your best friend. He needs an experienced owner who can help him feel safe and secure while teaching him boundaries. In return, Buddy will offer you all the cuddles and companionship you could ever want! If you’re ready for a dog with a bit of spunk and a lot of love, Buddy might be the perfect match for you. Come meet him today and see if you're the right fit for this adorable little guy! To meet him, contact his foster mom, Jan, today: crazy4mutts@outlook.com.

Story
Meet Chicky NOTE: This is a Courtesy Listing. If interested in Chicky, contact Kevin at 951-290-1979, or email kevincollins17@gmail.com. ARRF does not have a shelter. All dogs are in private homes. Chicky, a four-year-old neutered male Corgi-mix, was adopted in 2021 in Denver, Colorado, and is now looking for a new home where he can truly thrive. He’s a confident, active boy who does best with strong, consistent leadership—both from his humans and any canine companions. Chicky is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He’s already mastered several commands and tricks, and he absolutely loves staying active with walks, runs, and toy time! Chicky is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccinations, and currently weighs 26 lbs. Chicky can become nervous in situations where rules and expectations aren’t clear, and he’s developed some resource-guarding behavior around a specific person. With the right guidance and structure, Chicky has so much potential to be a loyal and loving companion. He would do best with experienced dog owners who can provide him with the calm, confident leadership he needs to feel secure. If you’re looking for a bright, active dog who’s ready to learn and bond deeply, Chicky might just be your guy! To meet Chicky, please contact Kevin Collins at 951-290-1979, or email kevinccollins17@gmail.com.

Meet Leo COURTESY LISTING FOR ANOTHER RESCUE! Please contact the San Diego County Animal Shelter, 5821 Sweetwater Road, Bonita, CA 91902. The shelter is open for animal viewing Tue-Fri from 1 pm to 3:30 pm and Sat-Sun from 10 am until 3:30 pm. You can also meet him at other times by scheduling an appointment at (619)767-2675. Be sure to mention Leo's ID number, which is A1917413. Leo is a neutered red and white Siberian Husky mix. He is nearly two years old and weighs 74 lbs. He tells us that his life would be perfect if only he had four things: a family, some toys to toss around, a swimming pool (or at least a kiddie pool), and some food! This low-maintenance fellow can entertain himself night and day with some good rubber toys to chew and pounce on and a swimming pool for dips on warm days. Leo knows basic doggie commands like sit and come and is eager to learn more, especially if his training sessions include treats! He does his best to be house-trained despite living in a shelter kennel. He takes treats gently from his handler's hand and walks like a gentleman on his leash, keeping an eye on his handler. And despite his outwardly independent spirit, inside that gorgeous fur, he is a big teddy bear; he loves to give and get affection anytime, anywhere. You can meet Leo at the San Diego County Animal Shelter North Campus, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011. The shelter is open for animal viewing Tue-Fri from 1 to 3:30 pm and Sat-Sun from 10 am until 3:30 pm. You can also meet him at other times by scheduling an appointment at (619)767-2675. Be sure to mention Leo's ID number, which is A1917413.

Meet Bruno - he is Curious, Friendly, Independent, Loves, Loyal, Playful, Protective, Quiet, and Smart. NOTE: Bruno is a Courtesy Listing. ARRF does not have a shelter. PLEASE CONTACT HIS FOSTER AT (619) 804-8649 or email nanyabizness@gmail.com. Come meet Bruno, formerly Bacon from Apple Valley! He's a two-year-old Staffi mix who is super happy, smart, playful, and affectionate. Bruno is a special needs pup as he is hearing impaired, but this is part of his charm! Due to his difficulty hearing, he ignores most dogs and is a very deep sleeper. He has had some basic training as he knows how to sit, lay down, and walk well on a leash. He is house-trained, and loves all people, including children! While he is dog friendly, he can be food aggressive with dogs only, so he is best as the only dog in the house or will need an owner dedicated to his training. He has not been cat-tested, but seems overly interested in strays. Bruno weighs about 55 lbs., is neutered, and all vaccinations are up to date. He is active and requires daily exercise, mental stimulation, and playtime. He loves to be around his people and will follow you around if you let him. He makes the most adorable howling sounds when he needs something. If you are looking for a dog that you can take on any adventure and who will love you forever, Bruno is your perfect match! To meet Bruno, contact his foster, Nanya: call (619) 804-8649 or email nanyabizness@gmail.com. Bruno is being fostered in downtown San Diego.
