Story

Alice is a Shepherd Mix, her estimated date of birth is 12/1/11 and she weighs 45 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Alice is a very sweet girl. She is good with people and with other dogs, very happy and friendly. We first took Alice in after she was hit by a car which fractured her pelvis and caused a condition known as megacolon. Megacolon is a state of permanently increased diameter of the large bowel. This change in intestinal structure leads to abnormal function, including reduced colonic motility and chronic constipation. Fecal retention in Alice's colon causes dilation of the colon and can somewhat impair her ability to poop. We have been able to get her much better health-wise and with medication and care Alice should be able to lead a healthy long life. She currently receives a daily stool softener and Cisapride, a medication that increases the motility in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Currently Alice is not house broken and does not have normal stools. They are often watery and grey and come out a little bit at a time. We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Appointments can be set up to meet any dog in San Diego. Currently we are unable to do any out-of-state adoptions. Story

Rocky is a Rottweiler Mix, his estimated date of birth is 2/7/12 and he weighs 75 lbs. He is up to date on all of his shots and he is fixed. Rocky is OK with people but is not good with kids, cats, or small dogs. Rocky has a habit of jumping and he has a tendency to try to escape so he would need a home that was very secure. Rocky has food aggression and is very possessive of toys and people. He can sometimes have an over protective drive to certain people.  Rocky can be very vocal and would require a home with a lot of space as Rocky prefers to roam and would become destructive if restricted in a small space. Rocky is not good with new people or places and can be aggressive to other male dogs. He requires regular grooming and requires a special diet. Rocky is afraid of water and can become agitated by running water or large areas of water. He has a habit of dumping out his water dish. Rocky is not good on a leash despite repeated training and still has issues with house training and marking.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Story

Berta is a Terrier Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/27/2014 and she weighs 16 lbs. . She is up to date on all of her vaccinations and she is fixed and microchipped. Berta is comfortable with people she knows but has issues with new places, new people and areas with a lot of noise. She requires a special diet as she has some minor gastrointestinal issues. Berta needs a lot of grooming but needs to maintain a thicker coat as she gets cold easily. She is more aloof and prefers to not interact with people too much. She is not good with kids, cats or small animals. She is OK with some dogs but not many. She does like to vocalize and requires a home were she can be monitored as she does like to chew. Berta needs to be introduced to things very slowly as she can can get skittish and pee. She  is also skittish around fast movements.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Story

Kristi is a Australian Shepherd Mix. Her estimated date of birth is 8/20/2015 and she weighs 40 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Kristi is OK with people that she knows but is not good with new people. She is better suited for a home that has no cats, no kids or other dogs or small animals.  Kristi does like to vocalize and would be best in a house as she needs a lot of space to run around. Kristi is not good alone and does need someone she can trust to be her side most of the time. Kristi requires a very special diet and does not tolerate prepackaged dog food well. She has some minor skin issues that do require weekly medication.  She has a very high energy level and would require exercise on a daily basis for at least 1 hour otherwise she has the tendency to be destructive to items.  Kristi does have some issues on a a leash and has a small problem with marking in homes.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently. Story

Helen is a very sweet girl. Her EDOB is 7/2010 and she weighs 35 lbs. She is up to date on all of her shots and she is fixed. Helen is Ok with some people but she can be nervous around people that she does not know. Helen does vocalize a bit and is only suited for a large home with a large backyard as she has a very high energy level and needs to run around. She has some issues with accidents in the house and has issues with walking on a leash. She does not do well with cats, kids, or other dogs and has to be the only animal in a home. Helen has minor chronic skin issue which does require weekly medication to help.We do not have a central location to see our dogs.  Meeting any dog is by appointment ONLY currently.
