Story
Luna is the rescues longest resident. As a young puppy Luna was sent to a board n train where harsh methods were used and her trust in humans was completely destroyed. She was flown down to us from a shelter in San Jose in the hopes we could work with her and get her to the point of being able to safely be adopted out. Luna has definitely been a labor of love but she is ready for a home of her own now. She has perfect house manners and is completely house broken. She walks beautifully on a leash and participates in our pack walks where she solicits love and attention from everyone. On the homefront she can be protective but she is a corso, and this is to be expected. She’s been fostered with both dogs and cats and with proper introductions would easily be able to live with other pets. She’s never had an altercation with any animal. She really needs a home with someone who understands the breed and loves cuddling with their pup as she’s a huge cuddler.

Story
Gentle and easy-going! Grrrrr!! I’m Bear, and I’m a 10-year-old, 98-pound Labrador Retriever Mix looking for my furever home! I came to TAP after being abandoned by my past owners, sadly due to my older age.  I’m a gentle and easy-going boy who is already potty-trained, leash-trained, and neutered.  All you have to say is “potty time” or “let’s go” while on a leash, and I know exactly what to do.  My health is in pretty good shape, but I will need to be evaluated once I have an established vet.  Being the seasoned guy I am, I have slight vision impairment related to normal aging, and I use eye ointment for extra support.  This condition will not lead to blindness, but I may need eye repair surgery in the future.  I also take Cytopoint injections to help with my allergies.  I’m a gentle and introverted pup, who loves my humans.  I’m very smart and pick up easily on the schedule you set for me.  I can be energetic when you come home or when it’s time to go for a walk, but other than that, I’m pretty mellow and love my naps.  My favorite things (besides taking naps) are taking walks, chewing on thick teething bones, and occasionally, playing with balls.  While I don’t mind being around other doggies, I like having my alone time and need slow introductions so that I have time to warm up.  I am very gentle around kids of all ages, and I enjoy receiving love from them.  However, no climbing on me, please, and no sudden movements around me since I can’t see as well as I used to.  Due to my mellow nature, I’d like to be in a mellow home, as well.  However, I’ve done just fine in a busy household with my foster family, living with multiple doggies and constant foot traffic of family and friends who come visit.  I enjoy being in the mix, as well as having a safe area to retreat to when I want some alone time. Overall, I’m a great companion and am just looking for someone special to look past my age and give me a chance.  My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##1698906##

Story
A great companion! Hi, friends! My name is Alonso, and I’ve come all the way from Tijuana to find my furever home!   I’m a 7 year old old Border Collie mix male, who weighs 45 pounds.  I’m potty-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained, and I’ve already been neutered, too.  As far as my health goes, I’m on Royal Canin Vet Diet Adult Gastrointentinal Low Fat Dry dog to help manage my kidney issues.  I also have limited vision in my right eye and am blind in my left eye, so I am currently on Prednisone acetate, which costs ~$20 a bottle, depending on the market value and where it is purchased and Optixcare Plus lubricant,  (~$15 a tube, depending on the market value and where it is purchased). I also take Telmisartan to manage my high blood pressure (~$15.00 for 3 month supply, depending on market value and where purchased).   I’m the sweetest boy! I love my humans and to be spoiled by them.  My favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, sun-bathing in the yard, napping during the day, getting belly rubs, and going for car rides and walks in the neighborhood.  I’m generally a pretty mellow type of guy, but I do get zoomies in the backyard, and I like to play fetch, too.  Although I love having company, I also do fine on my own with very little signs of separation anxiety. I’d prefer to be the only animal in the home since I don’t do well around other doggies or kitties.  Older kids (eight and older), though, would be a great fit for me. Basically, as long as I have plenty of time around my people, I will thrive be my best self! "The Animal Pad recognizes that taking in a new dog can pose a challenge to the entire family. Alonso’s adoption package includes a FREE four-week scholarship with our partner Goodpup (https://goodpup.com/). Goodpup offers virtual, individualized training to ensure you, your dog, and your family have the skills needed to thrive together. GoodPup Scholarships include: 4+ weeks of positive reinforcement training 24/7 chat for questions and support Access to a behavior team to assist in advanced cases" Do I sound like two paws up to you? If so, my adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##1495460##
