Story
If you’re looking for brains, beauty, and a big ol’ shepherd heart, say hello to Merkur! This handsome boy is the full package: wicked smart, endlessly loyal, and charming enough to make you cancel your plans just to hang out with him. Seriously—Merkur doesn’t fall for tricks... he teaches them. Merkur is all about his daily walks (sniffing every bush = very important business) and has a serious weakness for treats—bonus points if they’re crunchy. He’s the kind of pup who thrives when he knows his people are all in. Give him love, structure, and lots of reassurance, and he’ll give you his whole heart in return. He’s already stolen ours—probably because we can’t resist those ears or his sweet, soulful eyes. Now, he’s on the lookout for a forever home where he can feel safe, secure, and oh-so-loved. Think Merkur might be your perfect match? Fill out an adoption application at animalcareleague.org and come meet your new best buddy!

Story
Meet Huckleberry Huckleberry is the kind of dog who doesn’t just walk beside you — he sticks with you. This handsome German Shepherd mix is loyal to his core, and once he decides you’re his person, you’ll have a best friend for life. At first, Huck can be a little shy. He likes to take his time getting to know new people, but when he trusts you, his sweet and affectionate side comes shining through. He’ll lean in for pets, look up at you with those big soulful eyes, and make you feel like the most important person in the world. One of Huck’s favorite things is going for walks. He lights up the moment he sees his leash — trotting happily along, sniffing everything, just enjoying being out in the world with his person. Huckleberry is looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and loved. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll give you all the quiet loyalty and steady companionship you could ask for. If you’re looking for a true friend — someone who’ll walk with you, love you, and always have your back — come meet Huckleberry. He’s ready to find his forever person. Story
Phineas our handsome gentleman with ears that could rival any floppy-eared dog celebrity. While he might take a little time to warm up (he’s got to get to know you first!), once he does, you’ll be charmed by his calm demeanor and playful side. He’s the kind of dog who loves to chill, but when the mood strikes, he’ll bring out his goofy, fun-loving personality. Phineas would thrive in an adult-only home where he’s the one and only dog, with an experienced handler who understands that he may need a little time to settle in. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll give you all the loyalty and love you can handle, and maybe even a few floppy-ear wiggles! If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow guy who’s got a playful side and plenty of love to give, Phineas could be your perfect match. With a little patience and guidance, he’s ready to be your new best friend!

Story
Meet Babybel! At just a year old, Babybel is a bundle of joy, curiosity, and nonstop affection. This playful pup is full of personality and always ready to bring energy—and cuddles—into your life! Babybel is curious and may take a bit of time to warm up at first, but warms up quickly! She loves a good play session, but sometimes forgets her own strength—she’s still learning that not everyone wants to wrestle like a puppy! She thrives in homes that can give her structure, exercise, and lots of attention. She’s a classic “Velcro dog”—always nearby, always looking for love. She's still working on potty training, but she’s making progress and is very food-motivated, which helps a lot. Babybel knows basic commands, and is always ready for the next adventure—or snuggle. Babybel is looking for a home that will continue helping her grow into her best self—one with patience, playtime, and a whole lot of love. If you're ready for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, she’s waiting to meet you! Fill out an adoption questionnaire at animalcareleague.org!

Story
Our boy Gabe is basically a ray of sunshine wrapped in fur—he’s playful, goofy, and rocks a permanent smile that could light up an entire room (seriously, it’s contagious). Literally a cutie pie! This happy go lucky guy is always down for some fun, whether it’s zoomies in the yard, a game of fetch, or just flopping over for belly rubs like the lovable goofball he is. He’s a total people-person and loves making new human friends. He would prefer to be the only canine king of the castle. Other dogs? Meh. Gabe knows he’s the whole package— so no extras needed! If you’re looking for a buddy that is silly, sweet, and always smiling, Gabe’s your guy. Come meet him and prepare to fall in love (and maybe laugh a lot). If interested, you can fill out our application on our website at animalcareleague.org!
