Story
Sweet Maize (May-zee) needs a lot of attention. Adopted her from a shelter and have worked on her anxiety issues. She has come a long way She is good with cats and MOST dogs. One of our dogs is high energy and prone to aggression toward her. She deserves a safer space than we can provide. She exhibits PTSD-like behavior and needs a calm place with a regular routine. She is wary around men, and it takes a long time for her to accept them around.. She will not hurt kids, but the activity level may be a challenge for her. She needs a very patient female around willing to get her integrated into a new environment. She does okay on field trips with her person. Regular outings to regular places helps. She has been here over a year, and we’ve learned her needs and her challenges. I will be picky about placement, and rehoming will be with the agreement that if she is not a good fit, she is returned to us (not a shelter) as we try again. Fee includes crate etc. so she has familiar items.

Story
“Alexa- do you have a notification for me?” Alexa: One of the dogs at Pawsitive Tails Dog Rescue has a great bio. Would you like to hear about it? “Yes” Meet Lexus, a beautiful brindle female mix looking for a home! She is a compact 40-pound 2-year-old who is smart and treat motivated, so she is quick to learn new tricks. Lexus is house and kennel-trained and loves all people. After a slow introduction, she is dog-friendly and enjoys playing with other dogs her size or larger. Lexus’ favorite things are chewing bones, destroying stuffy toys, running around in a fenced yard, and getting belly rubs. She is very affectionate and loves to give kisses. Lexus will submissively roll over on her back for belly rubs. This smart girl is learning leash manners. She is happiest running around in a fenced yard but can jump a 4-foot fence, so an adopter who will walk her or who has a 6-foot privacy fence would be best. While Lexus has lots of energy for play, she is also the best cuddler and enjoys snuggling up next to you on the couch while you watch Netflix or your favorite streaming service. Lexus is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations and preventatives, such as flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 “Alexa- how do I meet this dog?” Alexa: Fill out an application at PawsitiveTailsKC.org to meet this beautiful girl.

Story
EVY (formerly Harley;name was changed only because I already have a dog named Harley) is a 55-lb American Pocket Bully, approximately 5,6 years old. She is a loving, people-oriented couch dog who does great with older children, including my kids and neighborhood kids. I took her in to help her breeder, but the breeder has since moved and is unable to take her back. Due to my recent divorce, hysterectomy recovery, financial strain, and managing multiple dogs, I can no longer provide the environment EVY needs. She gets along well with two of my dogs but has shown aggression toward one dogs and they do not cohabitate safely despite management efforts. Because of this, EVY may do best as an only dog or with an experienced owner who understands dog behavior and introductions. Cat compatibility is unknown. She enjoys walks and outdoor time but loves to stay indoors, she is a princess! The breeder stated her vaccinations were up to date likely need updated and spayed.

Story
🌱 🌷 Hope springs eternal! 🌷 🌱 The perfect saying for our 🌿 Hope 🌿, who would like this spring to be the happiest time of her life 🪻🪻 . She has been a wonderful foster dog. Now, she deserves her forever people. Hope is a 6-year-old English Foxhound mix who weighs about 55 pounds. She’s pretty, she’s smart, she’s a doll. You could stop reading here, because that’s really all you need to know. But we’ll go ahead and tell you more! She has gotten into the routine well at her foster home and loves time with her foster people. She is excellent with children and with all people – it’s easy to love her. She likes to go for walks and is great on the leash, and she likes to do a bit of zooming in the yard. But she doesn’t need a huge amount of exercise. She likes to lay at your feet while you work or relax and just enjoys her people’s company. Hope sits on command, and she’s learning stay, shake and lay. She always comes when she’s called, whether you say her name or whistle for her. This intelligent girl is a quick study for training, and she takes treats gently from your hand – she’ll be easy and fun to train to do just about anything. She is crate-trained and house-trained. Hope’s way of resting her head on your hands or on your lap is one of the best feelings in the whole wide world. She lets you know she loves you and is grateful to you. She can be iffy with other dogs at times, so her foster people have socialized her with other canines as best they can. She probably should be the only dog, but it’s possible that over time, as she accustoms herself, she could do fine with a dog buddy in the home. Hope is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, as well as current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. Spring into action, and don’t delay to fill out the application for her today! Meet & greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Meet Mrs. Potts, the ultimate cuddle bug in a goofy, loving package! This sweet, black-and-white mixed-breed girl is 2 years old and weighs 54 pounds—a perfect size for snuggling on the couch. Mrs. Potts has had a challenging journey early in life. She arrived at Pawsitive Tails very underweight and neglected, learning to trust people for the first time. From that point on, though, all she’s wanted is to be close to her humans and soak up every bit of love she can. Mrs. Potts is a little bit like a big puppy, playful and goofy at times, but calm at heart. She’s happiest lounging as a couch potato or snuggling up for a good nap. However, she also enjoys playtime with her chew toys or a walk around the block. She is still learning proper leash manners and getting better each walk! Because Mrs. Potts is still learning basics like “sit” and “kennel,” in addition to simply just “being a dog”, she will need a patient home that’s willing to continue helping her become the best dog she can be. That shouldn’t be difficult, though, because she is eager to please and quick to learn. The reward for your hard work will be watching her grow into a happy dog that realizes how fun life can be and understands that her family will always love and keep her safe. Mrs. Potts is house-trained and crate-trained. In fact, she enjoys quiet time in her kennel, which has proven to be a bit of a safe space for her as she learns that the world isn’t so scary. She can be a bit of a velcro dog, so she checks in often and will likely snuggle right into your lap. She’s done well on car rides and, while she loves people, she’s had only a little exposure to kids, so gentle introductions are best. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will reward your love with loyalty and endless cuddles, Mrs. Potts could be the one for you. She’s proof that resilience, trust, and a big heart can go a long way, and she’s ready to share all of that with her furever family! She is currently receiving treatment for heartworms, but the good news is that it’s totally treatable. We will provide everything needed to support her smooth recovery. Mrs. Potts will be spayed, is vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.
