Story
Kyle was born May 15, 2025 to a local person who owns the mother and father pit bulls. We acquired him 10 weeks later. He was shy in the beginning, but has turned into a great dog for me and my husband. He loves toys!! Loves to play with balls and then wants us to chase him. He sleeps in our bedroom, on a rug on the floor or on the bed. The only issue is his fear of people he does not know. He shows this by barking aggressively and growling. We have sought behavioral training and this has helped. Plus he is on two medications. He is more relaxed and less aggressive. He needs someone who will expose him to more social interactions. Maybe someone who already has pit bulls or someone who loves pitties. He is a beautiful dog. We just want to find him a home with people who will love him.

Story
Sweet Maize (May-zee) needs a lot of attention. Adopted her from a shelter and have worked on her anxiety issues. She has come a long way She is good with cats and MOST dogs. One of our dogs is high energy and prone to aggression toward her. She deserves a safer space than we can provide. She exhibits PTSD-like behavior and needs a calm place with a regular routine. She is wary around men, and it takes a long time for her to accept them around.. She will not hurt kids, but the activity level may be a challenge for her. She needs a very patient female around willing to get her integrated into a new environment. She does okay on field trips with her person. Regular outings to regular places helps. She has been here over a year, and we’ve learned her needs and her challenges. I will be picky about placement, and rehoming will be with the agreement that if she is not a good fit, she is returned to us (not a shelter) as we try again. Fee includes crate etc. so she has familiar items.

Story
Meet Mrs. Potts, the ultimate cuddle bug in a goofy, loving package! This sweet, black-and-white mixed-breed girl is 2 years old and weighs 54 pounds—a perfect size for snuggling on the couch. Mrs. Potts has had a challenging journey early in life. She arrived at Pawsitive Tails very underweight and neglected, learning to trust people for the first time. From that point on, though, all she’s wanted is to be close to her humans and soak up every bit of love she can. Mrs. Potts is a little bit like a big puppy, playful and goofy at times, but calm at heart. She’s happiest lounging as a couch potato or snuggling up for a good nap. However, she also enjoys playtime with her chew toys or a walk around the block. She is still learning proper leash manners and getting better each walk! Because Mrs. Potts is still learning basics like “sit” and “kennel,” in addition to simply just “being a dog”, she will need a patient home that’s willing to continue helping her become the best dog she can be. That shouldn’t be difficult, though, because she is eager to please and quick to learn. The reward for your hard work will be watching her grow into a happy dog that realizes how fun life can be and understands that her family will always love and keep her safe. Mrs. Potts is house-trained and crate-trained. In fact, she enjoys quiet time in her kennel, which has proven to be a bit of a safe space for her as she learns that the world isn’t so scary. She can be a bit of a velcro dog, so she checks in often and will likely snuggle right into your lap. She’s done well on car rides and, while she loves people, she’s had only a little exposure to kids, so gentle introductions are best. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will reward your love with loyalty and endless cuddles, Mrs. Potts could be the one for you. She’s proof that resilience, trust, and a big heart can go a long way, and she’s ready to share all of that with her furever family! She is currently receiving treatment for heartworms, but the good news is that it’s totally treatable. We will provide everything needed to support her smooth recovery. Mrs. Potts will be spayed, is vaccinated, microchipped, and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Story
If you’re looking for a quiet, low-key puppy… just keep swimming 🐠 But if you’re looking for personality, playfulness, and a whole lot of love? You’re in the right place. Dory is a 3-month-old Beagle/Staffordshire Terrier mix who brings big energy in a small package – for now, as she’ll be about 46-79 lbs. full-grown! Dory is spunky, smart, and a bit dramatic (think: expressive, hilarious, and not afraid to share her opinions). She’ll confidently mix it up with dogs bigger than her, then turn around and melt into your lap like the sweet cuddle bug she is. Here’s what makes Dory so easy to love: 🐾 Nearly house-trained and great with potty pads when needed 🐾 Knows “sit” and “down” (and working on “drop it”) 🐾 Loves toys – squeaky, stuffy, rope… You name it 🐾 Enjoys playing with other dogs and keeping up with the big kids 🐾 Curious and loves things like snuffle mats and scent games She’s still a puppy, so she’s learning as she goes. Dory is improving on leash every day, still figuring out crate time (she prefers being near her people), and can get a little impatient during playtime. But she’s bright, eager, and will absolutely thrive with consistency and structure. A few things to know about life with Dory: 💙 She loves the outdoors and would do best with space to explore 💙 Her ideal family is ready for puppy energy + training 💙 A playful dog friend or an active home would be a big plus Dory may not have the world totally figured out yet (and she cannot speak Whale)… but she does know how to love, how to play, and how to make every day more fun. Dory’s adoption fee is $275 and includes her spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Apply to meet Dory at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
EVY (formerly Harley;name was changed only because I already have a dog named Harley) is a 55-lb American Pocket Bully, approximately 5,6 years old. She is a loving, people-oriented couch dog who does great with older children, including my kids and neighborhood kids. I took her in to help her breeder, but the breeder has since moved and is unable to take her back. Due to my recent divorce, hysterectomy recovery, financial strain, and managing multiple dogs, I can no longer provide the environment EVY needs. She gets along well with two of my dogs but has shown aggression toward one dogs and they do not cohabitate safely despite management efforts. Because of this, EVY may do best as an only dog or with an experienced owner who understands dog behavior and introductions. Cat compatibility is unknown. She enjoys walks and outdoor time but loves to stay indoors, she is a princess! The breeder stated her vaccinations were up to date likely need updated and spayed.
