Story

My son at college got Marvin from a friend who was fostering for the family that could not keep him. My son's university housing would not allow him to keep Marvin. He lived with him for about 3 months. We brought him to our home where we have attempted to find him a home. He is about 3, potty trained, neutered, shots and flea treatment are current. He is sweet and gentle. He is a big guy who loves to snuggle and doesn't realize he is not a lap dog. I have only seen him around other male dogs and he does fine, is not aggressive but wants to play. He rarely barks. We have dogs on both fence lines, and he will run the fence with them while they bark and will not bark at all. He does occasionally bark if a rabbit sits too long in his line of site out the window. We are working on the command come. He is not lease trained and a powerful guy. We are currently working on that too. If adopting family is in the KC area, Engels will always dog sit when available, free of charge.

Story

Here is Bentley, a 7 year old golden retriever. He’s a sweet loving boy much of a the time, has the pretty typical golden goofiness. He has had some issues of aggression with both owners, typically with possession aggression, where he takes our items, and we have to take him out of the room to grab it so he doesn’t snap at us. He is typically more aggressive with the male, sometimes deciding he doesn’t want to let him in the door as he goes inside, and shows teeth. Never had a problem with our kiddo, but we also don’t want to take that chance. He also has many allergies which is the main reason we are needing to part ways with him. We don’t feel like we can keep up with his ongoing, typically monthly allergy shot and/or pills, and all specialized dog foods we’ve tried, hasn’t helped keep us out of the vet. He gets chronic ear infections and spots on his belly, after about 3 weeks from cytopoint, he’s typically back itching constantly and we don’t feel we keep up with it enough for him

Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He has medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or wild animal, they said no. He's been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl, show teeth, or lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional.He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner.He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!

Story

Millie will be a great addition to someone's home but we just aren't the perfect fit. Millie has undergone extensive training (3-week overnight "bootcamp") and has made great strides, but we have not put in the effort to be consistent at home with what she's learned. We are rehoming because our home is a bit too chaotic for her to be successful and she does not get enough walks & exercise to suit her needs. Millie is good with dogs and loves to play but is definitely dominant which can be overwhelming at first to smaller dogs. She doesn't know how big she is! She's a bit of a counter thief an will steal anything that smells good that has been left unattended. She likes to snuggle and be affectionate and will be all over you to the extent you let her. Millie is high energy and will do great with an active person/family who will give her plenty of walks and opportunity to run and who will be consistent in reinforcing the commands she learned during her training.

We adopted Max almost a year ago under the impression that he was a poodle mix, but his Embark test came back 100% Bouvier des Flandres. Max is a very sweet, very big, sensitive boy. He is pretty chill around the house with the family. On the other hand, he is very easily excited by our kiddos (five and ten) playing with cousins or friends, car rides, other dogs, small animals, etc.I am his primary caretaker, and it breaks my heart to consider rehoming him. I have a few chronic health issues, and I feel his needs (behavioral, grooming, training, etc.) are just beyond my capacity for the foreseeable future.Max would do well in a home with an owner experienced with big dogs. He jumps our four foot fence easily, so a taller fence or understanding of his ability is important (he hasn't run away—he jumps the fence to go see neighbor dogs)Rehome fee includes his crate, dog beds, walking harness & car harness, long & short leashes, food, favorite toys, slicker brush & comb
