Story
Chief is full of energy and wants to go outside. He is a runner so he needs to be in a backyard that is fenced or he has to be leashed. He has had formal training and knows several commands. We are both on very busy schedules and he sits in the house all day alone right now so we are trying to find him a home that has either other dogs/kids or somewhere he can play and run. Chief is a beautiful dog and he just needs a active owner or a owner that has time to spend with him or has dog and/or kids.

Story
Pet Location: Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I am from a hoarding situation. I will likely need extra time to adjust to home life. I have lived with other dogs but have not socialized with many people. Things like walking on a leash and going through doorways can be challenging for me. Adopting me will be extremely rewarding, but I need time to learn.- I’m a shy dog and need someone willing to be patient with me.- Once I warm up, I`m described as sweet and easy-going!- Chews, Kong-like feeders, puzzle toys—help to keep me entertained!- I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends I have a fenced-in yard since I`m still a little nervous of new environments.- For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Woof to meet you! I’m Brody!I’m a 3-year-old black lab who’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary. I came from a hoarding situation, so new people and environments can make me a little nervous at first. Because of that, I’m looking for someone patient and understanding who will let me move at my own pace. I’m also enrolled in Confidence College, where I’m working on building my bravery and learning how to feel more comfortable each day.Once I warm up, though, I’m described as a sweet and easygoing guy who just wants to enjoy life with his people. One of the best ways to bond with me is through walks. I absolutely love getting outside, exploring new places, and taking in all the sights and smells; Adventures are kind of my thin

Pet Location Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter!- I’m smart and food/treat motivated. - During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs. -I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - Cats are much too interesting to me, so my home will need to be cat free. - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. - If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them to make sure they enjoy my enthusiasm for life!Hi there, I’m Razzmatazz! I am full of energy and always ready for fun, so I would do best with an active adopter who loves to play, run, and explore. I’m smart and food-motivated, which means learning new tricks is exciting for me, especially when there’s a treat waiting at the end. I’ve enjoyed being around other dogs during my time at Wayside, and I love making furry friends to share in adventures and playtime. One of my favorite things is meeting new people and showing them just how much fun life can be with a lively, playful pup around. I can be a whirlwind of energy, and I love spending time with humans who can match my enthusiasm. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a walk around the neighborhood, or just running and playing outside, I am happiest when I have someone to share my excitement with.If you have a dog at home, it’s important that we meet first so we can make sure we’re buddies and can get along perfectly. If there are children nine years old or younger, I’d also like to meet them first so we can all enjoy each other safely. With patience, love, and maybe a few treats along the way, I’ll bring laughter, tail wags, and endless energy into your home. I’m ready for an adopter who is excited to share life with a playful, smart, and lively companion like me.Love, Razzmatazz

Wayside Waifs CampusHi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats, time and patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today!

Story
Pet Location: Easter is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816) 986-4426.My friends at Wayside say:- I am a tripod. Even though I have three legs, I would love to run straight into your heart. - I’m a little shy—slow and steady wins the race with me.- I will do best with dogs who prefer to coexist. My home needs are:- I must go to a home that already has another dog so they can show me the ropes. - Wayside recommends you bring your dog to meet me before adoption to ensure we can be buddies. - I must have a fenced-in yard since I am still learning to walk on leash.- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. Hi there, I’m Easter! I’m calm and affectionate and possibly the sweetest dog you’ve ever met. That’s what my friends tell me anyway. My life hasn’t been an easy one, that’s for sure, but I’m resilient and forgiving. I just want to live a safe and peaceful life with people I love, that’s all. That’s enough for me. I hope that maybe you’re looking for a simple little dog to share your life with, and that you decide to choose me. I’m ready to be your dog!I’m a darling, 2-year-old, 35-pound Beagle mix, with soft, floppy ears, gentle, soulful eyes that turn bright and engaged once I know you’re my people, and an unassuming, easy-going, lovely personality. I’m already housebroken, but please stay patient with me if I have accidents now and then. I’m currently on a steroid drug for my heartworm treatment, so keeping a routine is difficult for now. Please keep me on a schedule and get me out for frequent breaks to help set me up for success. I was transferred to Wayside from a shelter in rural Texas that didn’t have space for me. One of my legs was amputated right before I arrived in KC, so I’m still getting used to that. And I’m recovering from heartworm treatment…and the move to a new state…and just being a shy little gal to start with. Whew, that’s a lot. With a little time and patience, I’ll be as good as new and all settled into my new life! Meanwhile, though, shelter living was feeling scary and lonely, so I was thrilled to be chosen to live in a foster home as I wait for you to find me! Foster Mom makes me feel special and important. Ah, that feels so nice.My foster parents understood from the start that I had been through a lot of change a
