Hi there&#44 Im Raider! What do you need to know about me? I adore ALL people including kiddos. Strangers (including kiddos) come for a visit&#44 and I love it!

I am also house&#44 and kennel trained. I dont need to be kenneled at all because Im a super good boy free roaming by myself in the home too! A very good boy in the home and on car rides too. AND I love my toys - all of them. Squeaky toys&#44 sports balls such as a basketball and soccer ball&#44 ropes&#44 plush toys. The list goes on and on. Im a squeaky toy enthusiast too! Give me a toy that makes noise and Im the happiest pup around.

Im also a smart boy too. I already know the following commands: sit&#44 shake&#44 down wait and learning leave it. My shake is simply adorable or so Im told. Get this: Foster dad (FD) is not a dog person at all. He is fine with foster mom (FM) fostering and she has fostered some really cool dogs for the last 20 years. BUT - FD told FM that Im one of the very bestest foster dogs shes ever brought home. How about them apples? Pretty neat if you ask me. So&#44 if you are a dog lover but your partner is so so on dogs - please think about me. I promise you I will win your partner over.

You know what Id love even more than all the toys in the world? A person(s) to share life with. Im 5 years old&#44 and life hasnt always been easy. I was found alone in a field by animal control&#44 but Ive put the past behind me and am ready to find a home where I can be someones whole world!

People are my favorite. I dont need much&#44 just a soft blanket&#44 a few squeaky toys&#44 and someone to hang out with. Im happiest when I can be near you. If youre working&#44 Ill curl up on the floor next to you and keep you company. If youre relaxing&#44 Ill be right there too. Im loyal&#44 quiet (except when Im squeaking my toys)&#44 and full of love!

I do need to be the only pet in your home&#44 no other dogs or cats for me please. But I promise&#44 I have more than enough love to go around. If youre looking for a sweet&#44 steady companion who just wants to be near you&#44 Im your guy.

Im living in a foster home (lovin the home environment) so email/call (information below) and lets get a meeting set up - ok? Super excited to meet you.

All my love and kisses&#44

Raider xxxxxxx

adoptions@greatplainsspca.org
or call (913) 831-7722 (SPCA)

Hi&#44 Im Paulie! A gorgeous chocolate brown boy with the most spectacular speckles on my chest!

I was found doing one of my favorite activities: runnin around! Ive got energy to burn and am looking for the right family to keep me entertained! I love toys and am always up for a play session. Plus&#44 I do well with other dogs my size who match my energy.

I have several human besties at the shelter. Dont tell anyone but I may have a fav and her name is Peggy. Peggy and Paulie!!. She takes me on car rides&#44 which I love&#44 and she says I am an excellent passenger. Peggy drives me to a park&#44 and we so enjoy getting away from the shelter plus she has taught me many commands. I know sit&#44 watch me&#44 wait&#44 leave it&#44 and come.

After we have been at the park&#44 working on our commands&#44 it is time for snuggles and gentle massages. It is a perfect ending to our time together.

One of my other besties&#44 Summer&#44 is teaching me to walk well with a Halti and I am doing outstanding. Watch us in my video and you will be impressed!

If you have an active home with adults and older children&#44 then I could be a great addition. Please come meet me.

Love&#44
Paulie

Featuring photos by Caley Clark Photography

Story
I bet youve never met a dog that knows as many commands as I do! Hi Im handsome love bug Emmett. Im a young and handsome boy with big potential and big love in my heart. I enjoy running&#44 jumping&#44 playing&#44 and exploring. I recently returned from Pups for Paroles where I learned a bunch of good stuff for my new home with you. I now know the following commands: Sit&#44 Down&#44 Wait&#44 Stay and I will Come to you when called. I also enjoy other dogs so if you have a dog&#44 please bring him/her to meet me - ok?

Did I mention that Im a little larger than a lot of dogs? I am&#44 but there are so many positives to adopting a bigger dog like me. We make great exercise buddies because we have more stamina&#44 we can make you feel very safe on a walk or in the home&#44 we are usually gentle and affectionate dogs&#44 we have larger personalities so that means more fun&#44 and we are loyal&#44 more tolerant and easy to train. We have more patience&#44 too; and we dont have that silly Napoleon Complex that smaller dogs may have. Sometimes youll see that a big dog seems more like a human&#44 too - ever notice that for yourself? Thats why we make the best of friends!

Did you know it is so much harder if you are a big dog to get adopted out from a shelter? Not because we arent loving and wonderful and great all around pups. Its because some peoples living arrangements arent always good for large dogs. So it means longer shelter stays for us and more stress and greater loneliness. If you can adopt a larger dog&#44 please do. All of us would be so grateful! The wait is endless it seems.

I am a sweet and affectionate companion&#44 and I would love to go on walks and learn more new tricks to show off. One thing everyone notices about me is how well I jump&#44 so I would love a large yard with high fences where I can run around and play safely.

My friends here think Im pretty perfect. And they keep telling me everything is gonna be ok&#44 that my family will find me. Ive just now started to get more meet and greets&#44 but for one reason or another&#44 Im still here. Why in the world dont you want to get to know me? Ive got love and joy and sweetness written all over me. I try so hard to be what you want in a dog&#44 but you just dont see me. Im looking for an active family that can provide both patience and opportunities for me to get my young dog energy out.

Please&#44 please give a big dog like myself a chance. We have twice the love and devotion in our big hearts than all the smaller dogs combined. I sure wish we can meet so we can fall in love.

Forever yours&#44
Emmett xoxoox

Story
Hello there&#44 my name is Raven!

Im a beautiful 5-year-old Akita mix with a calm&#44 independent spirit and a quiet appreciation for the finer things in life. Im not one for chaos-I prefer a peaceful home where I can mind my own business and enjoy my space. Id be happiest as your one-and-only dog&#44 but I could also share my home with a mellow canine companion who respects my boundaries and keeps things low-key.

I truly am the finest companion west of the Mississippi. I get to spend my days sharing an office with 2 staff members and they RAVE about me. I appreciate getting my ears scratched when they have time&#44 but I am perfectly content to listen to their phone conversations and between themselves or greeting visitors to their office. They are 2 busy people and are gone from their office too which doesnt bother me at all. I patiently wait for their return.

I only have once complaint about sharing their office. The office does not have any windows. My favorite pastime is stretching out in a warm sunbeam with a good bully stick to chew on. Its pure bliss. Do you have at least one window where the sun shines through? Man&#44 I would enjoy that but no worries if you dont. I will be your devoted companion&#44 no matter what. I love companionship&#44 but I also value my independence and would make a wonderful match for someone who understands and appreciates a dog with a dignified&#44 relaxed nature.

If youre looking for a loyal&#44 serene&#44 chill companion who will bring quiet comfort and grace into your life&#44 I might just be your girl. Come meet Ms. Raven today-Id love to show you just how special I am.

Love to the moon and back&#44

RAVEN

Someone here got fancy with the spelling of my name&#44 right? Spell it or pronounce my name any way you want&#44 just so Im in your mind and my name is on your tongue. Im Rokko&#44 a 2-year-old&#44 super handsome big hunk of mutt with a red merle coat and eyes as blue as a summer sky. (At least&#44 thats what everyone tells me... I cant see my own eyes&#44 but I trust them!)

Im a certified goofball&#44 a professional tail-wagger&#44 and an aspiring make-you-smile specialist. Honestly&#44 making humans happy is my favorite job. If I can brighten your day with a goofy grin&#44 a clumsy cuddle&#44 or a joyful zoomie&#44 then Im living my best life.

I adore tennis balls and would love for you to throw them so I can chase them - those little round things bring me much joy. I know the commands sit and down and would love for you to teach me more. Ive got springs for paws&#44 so I can jump high and bounce and hop my way into your heart.

My picture may make me look like a buttoned up gentleman who always has a stiff upper lip&#44 but dont let that fool you-Im silly as silly can be at heart. I would love nothing more than to be your loyal buddy. Walks? Yes please! Snacks? Absolutely! Belly rubs? Say no more!

If youre looking for a sweet&#44 wonderful fella whos ready to love you with his whole goofy heart&#44 then I think we might be perfect for each other.

Come meet me today... Ill be the one wagging so hard my whole-body wiggles!

Love always&#44
Rokko xxxxx

Story
I wont lie-my life didnt start out easy. I was left behind&#44 sick&#44 skinny&#44 and hurting. I didnt know if people would be kind to me again. I didnt know if anyone would see me for more than what Id been through.

But even after everything... I still believe in love and that people are truly awesome! Hi Im Homer - the handsomest&#44 most affectionate and sweetest most down to earth fella at the shelter right now. Ive learned how to play with tennis balls and even learned how to do a sit on command AND I will put my front paw out for a pawshake! Ohhhhh&#44 I love to learn new things and be with my humans. YES - despite the pain and neglect I faced&#44 I still want to be with people. I was adopted out to a wonderful family for a short time. Turns out I love car rides to anywhere&#44 kids who will love me back&#44 long naps next to my person&#44 lying in the sunshine&#44 a blanket that I can use as my pacifier&#44 and all the affection you can muster. Im even housebroken and crate trained. I have so much to offer&#44 and honestly&#44 I dont understand why Im still here. I used to catch everyones eye. You humans wanted to meet me. Now&#44 for some unknown reason&#44 no one ever asks about me anymore. I know I need you more than anything now! Dont be deterred; Im here&#44 and I want to get to know you.

I hope someone out there is looking for a dog like me-quiet&#44 loyal&#44 and endlessly forgiving. Oh&#44 did I forget to mention FUN? When I look into your eyes&#44 I dont just see a person-I see possibility. A future. A friend. If youre looking for a dog who will appreciate every kind word&#44 every gentle touch&#44 every promise kept... Im right here waiting ever so patiently for you to come for me.

With all my heart&#44
Homer

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography
