Story
Meet Dwayne – this sweet boy is ready to rock your world! With a heart as big as his smile and a friendly personality, he’ll win you over in no time. Dwayne’s dream home? One filled with endless love, tasty treats, and a cozy spot where he can kick back after a day of tail-wagging fun. This handsome guy loves car rides, especially when he can stick his head out the window to feel the breeze! Eager to please and always up for an adventure, Dwayne enjoys long walks where he can explore the great outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick to smash through life’s adventures and melt into cuddles when the day’s done, Dwayne’s the perfect match!Dwayne says he`s ready to be the main man in your life! This dashing gent would prefer to be the only male dog in the home but is open to meeting any lovely lady doggie siblings who might be waiting for him.Dwayne was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say about him, `What a well-behaved boy! Dwayne knows how to be polite. He knew how to ride in cars and never barked once. He’s a great walker and would be a good running partner. He was very patient at the restaurant patio and didn’t beg for food. He waited his turn for his pretzel bite and enjoyed the pup cup and huge bowl of water from the staff!`Dwayne is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready for his forever home! His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

Story
5 1/2 year old Yasmin is a more introverted girl who needs a bit of time to get to know a person before she can be her wiggly self. She is hoping for an adopter who will go slower with her.Like all of our pups, she would love to meet any potential canine siblings before heading home to make sure that it’s a great match. Yasmin was found as a stray so we don’t have any information about her previous life. She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.

Story
The first thing you`ll notice about Auggie is his impressive set of ears, and the next thing you`ll notice is his big ole smile. This guy has it all- beauty AND brains! He loves to bond over a game of fetch, do some tricks for treats, and top it off for ya with some heart-melting eye contact that makes you feel like the only person in the world. He likes squeaky toys, frisbees, tug games, wrestling and playing chase games. He plays nicely with his toys without ripping them up.Auggie was recently able to go on a Dogs Day Out and here is what they had to say, `I got to take Auggie out and he is just as goofy as the first time I met him 2 years ago! I’m glad to see Auggie’s spirit isn’t broken despite his turbulent journey. He enjoyed a pup cup and a big walk at Loose Park. He took in all the smells and we sat in the grass for awhile which he seemed to love! He rolled around in the grass and just relaxed. Auggie has a lot of personality and is so sweet to all his people!``He wanted all the lovings & pats & `good boy` `s! He was nuzzling my neck and leaning into me and it was just so cute lol. Auggie got a pup cup from Starbucks and just rested in my back seat for a bit before going back to campus. Auggie deserves his Christmas miracle!!Consider Auggie as your next foster or forward him on to a potential adopter! He is 6 years old, can leave with dogs upon a meet & greet, loves toys, very active but would love to be a couch potato too.` He has previously lived with another dog and, like all of our pups, he would love to meet any potential canine siblings before heading home to make sure that it’s a good match. While he is still learning his own strength and how to share, he would do best in a home without any children.Auggie is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his forever home! My ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

Story
Buttercup is currently in a foster home and we are learning more about her personality:Buttercup is a mild-mannered, gentle, and intelligent lady who is eager to please. She has a mellow but sociable personality and enjoys being near her people. When she wants extra attention she’ll come to lean against you or sit calmly at your side. Buttercup enjoys couch time, fetch, tug, belly rubs, and standing guard at the window. She is also a keen sniffer who enjoys exploring and following new scents. Buttercup is housebroken, knows at least 4 commands (stay, sit, shake, down), and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She could likely even be left out to roam alone as she doesn’t chew or get into things. Buttercup was in our shelter for a short time before being adopted 4 years ago. She was recently found as a stray. She has a reported history of living with cats, dogs, and small kids. She may prefer other dogs who are mellow or more mature like herself. Her foster says she is excited when she sees small furry animals but can be redirected. She would likely be ok with a cat with very slow introductions.Buttercup would benefit from a family that can provide her with plenty of company and quality time. She is still so full of love and hoping to find her forever home! Buttercup is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you would like to meet Buttercup please email foster@kcpetproject.org
