Story
Please meet this sweet man, Bentley! Bentley originally came to KC Pet Project in October of 2020 during the pandemic shut downs. People wanted companions very badly, and he was scooped up immediately. Now, almost three years later he's come back to the shelter as a stray and his former owners have said they no longer wanted him. Everything we know about Bentley so far indicates he is 100% a good boy. He was sweet to the admissions staff upon arriving back here. He likes certain dogs but can be picky, so we'd want any potential dog siblings to meet before going home. We will be learning more about Bentley's personality in the coming days, but one thing is for certain- he is so deserving of a loving furever home. Please come meet him, today! My ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

Story
King Allen is super sweet and oh so lovable. He enjoys snuggling with his humans, wherever they may be, but he is also just as happy lazing on his doggy bed or outside, soaking up some rays or rolling in the grass. He is notorious for his unique sleep positions and will be sure to keep you entertained with his quirky personality. He may be a senior, but he has a lot of pep in his paw when he wants to. He enjoys playing with all kinds of toys (Cookie Monster and flossy are his favs), hanging outside with supervision, and going for walks. He also enjoys car rides and would be happy to be your 24/7 road dog. King knows how to sit down like a pro, will wait patiently for his food and just learned to shake (you can teach an old dog new tricks)! He is housebroken and free roams in the house when his foster family is away. His ideal environment would be a quiet home with a fenced yard. Because he likes to be the baby of the family, we recommend no young kids or other pets in the home. Older children might be ok. If you're looking for a companion who is a good mix of wild and mild and has loads of love and affection to go around, King is your guy! Please email foster@kcpetproject.org to learn more about King Allen, or to meet him.My adoption fee has been sponsored by Chiefs player, Derrick Nnadi and ZIWI!Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last due to appearance. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs. Their hair doesn't show up on black clothing and their coats don't appear as dirty as they may be. Will you be the lucky owner of a black shelter dog? Come down to KCPP to pick one out!

Story
Celine is a super affectionate girl who loves to be the center of attention. She loves to snuggle and get pets. She does well on a leash and is easily motivated by treats. She is a social girl and plays well with other dogs. She would do good in a house with other dogs. Celine's owner had to give her up due to the landlord saying no dogs. She has lived successfully with children and adults and knows many commands. She is a smart girl. She is housetrained as long as she gets outside regularly.Celine is living in a foster home. If you would like to learn more about her or want to meet her please email foster@kcpetproject.org

Story
Jorge is a silly boy who's always making people laugh with his little antics - whether he's running around with a chew toy or racing to the top of the stairs. Jorge takes his title of Man's Best Friend very seriously. He's loyal, sweet, and affectionate - he loves to make his humans happy. If you're settled on the couch, he'll lay near you or wait for you to tap the cushion and give him permission to lay next to you. Jorge is potty trained, crate trained, and overall very well-behaved. Jorge has a few basic cues that he understands, and he has been respectful of boundaries in his foster home. He's super sweet to anyone he meets, he may just need a short warm up period. Jorge is a perfect companion, as loving and sweet as a dog can be. He loves to snuggle and rest his head on your lap. Jorge loves a good leisure walk, taking his time to stop and sniff. He carries a happy demeanor and is looking for a family to share his brightness with.Jorge is living in a foster home. Behind that giant smile is a cute chestnut boy with a heart of gold. Caino is a sweet and SILLY boy! He knows his basic commands and is happy to show them off. In his previous home, he was around people of all ages and reportedly great with kids. He has also lived in an apartment. His former owner shared that he's a great listener, and that he's loyal and playful. He also does this adorable thing where he rolls around on his back, kicking his legs and being oh so silly. Caino may be 8, but he still has so much life to live and love to give. Come bust him out of the shelter and spoil him with everything he deserves! My ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!
