Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He has medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or wild animal, they said no. He's been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl, show teeth, or lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!

Story
Ares is a playful and sweet one year old Siberian Husky. He was abandoned with me after my ex and I split up. I have tried to make it work so he could stay with me but unfortunately I am unable to keep up with the level of care he requires. I am in school and working and he needs a more stimulating and active lifestyle that I cannot provide for him.

Story
Jake is a 5 year-old ACD/blue healer. We are told he’s all blue healer. He’s appx 50 lbs, healthy, no special diet. We took Jake into our home 1 year ago. Jake lived with his owner at a local lake (his job was keeping geese away) where we spent weekends. His owner died, we took iJake. His adjustment seemed good, until March. We saw he was becoming sad and unsettled. We’ve been working with our vet, behavioral specialist, and he had a physical therapist for a consult. ALL is 100% fine. We all think my house is just overwhelming for him: we have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and sometimes even the 3rd dog. JAKE IS NOT THE PROBLEM, WE ARE. Jake needs a calm environment! Jake is perfect. NEVER pottied inside, destroyed anything. Great on leash, never ran off. He is sweet and loving. Other dogs can be overwhelming, so if there is another as long as it’s calm. He is great around cats. He wants to go for walks, rides, play ball/soft disk, hurd balls. He’s smart, and the best companion.

Story
I adopted Annie from the Lawrence Human Society December 2023. I need to re-home her because I had a health issue in June and am unable to care for her any more. She a smart, gentle dog. I live in the country and she has been using the pet door to let herself in and out. She especially loves the snow! She likes investigating the farm - chasing squirrels, checking out the cattle, etc. We have established a ritual: Everytime I return home after being gone any length of time ( 2 minutes to 2 weeks 😄), she meets me at my driver's door in the garage. I scratch her rump about 5 seconds, give her two pats on the rump, then she's off - back to doing her thing. She knows commands: come; sit; get/go; to your bed. I would like to give 5 months Rx flea/tick treatment and her wire kennel to whomever adopts her. She likes hanging out in the kenned when she is in the house, and goes there when she thinks she's in trouble. I'm sure I'll cry when I re-home her.... just a fair warning .....

Story
Only a puppy, Ekko definitely wants to know why his young life had to start out so difficult. 🔒 🔗 We can’t know the answer to that, but what we CAN know is that Ekko’s little life has had a gigantic glow-up since he’s been in foster 🪄 🧚‍♀️ Only good stuff from now on, Ekko! 🦄 🌈 We promise. Tiny baby Ekko was crated for more than 20 hours a day and wasn’t getting enough to eat or drink. After some quality time with a loving foster, he has so much freedom 🕊️🤸‍♂️ and everything he needs to grow and thrive. Ekko is 9 months old, and he’ll probably be around 40 pounds full grown. Turns out, he’s a complete sweetheart, and he’s good with kids and gets along well with other dogs. He walks well on a leash and knows sit and some other basic commands. He’ll readily do what you ask if he knows he’ll get a treat or some good attention. Oh Ekko, you’re such a good boy. 🥹 He has a regular amount of puppy energy, and he gets these cute little bursts of happiness right after he eats. He likes all the toys, but he particularly likes to play with squeaky toys and balls. He loves the opportunity to snuggle up and cling to his foster mom, so he’ll make a great cuddle buddy to his forever people. Ekko is house trained and he’s crate trained, but because he was crated so much in the past, you can’t blame him for not liking the crate very much. He should be in a home where people are willing to give him time to build trust – and that might take a little longer with the men in a home. Once he acclimates to new environments, he becomes his full Ekko self, and you’ve never had a better friend! 👯 He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped, as well as current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Don’t you wanna be the person who ushers Ekko into the good life? Get approved to adopt so you can meet him! 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

Story
😽CAT FRIENDLY😽 Thanks for stopping by my profile! My name is Chloe, and I am a 9-month-old pittie mix who currently weighs 45 pounds. I’m almost at my adult weight of 50-55 lbs. An ideal size really for a housemate! My foster mom loves my super sweet, goofy personality! I LOVE to be around my person and am hoping to find my best friend who will shower me with love and take me on all kinds of adventures! Here are some great things about me! 🩷I am crate trained and sleep in my crate at night without making a mess ❤️I am working on my house training skills and almost have them mastered 🧡I get along well with other dogs, cats, and even chickens!🐓 💚I know some commands like sit, shake, lay down, kennel, and respond to no 💙 Going on walks is cool, and I am learning how to walk politely 💜I like to ride in the car and hang my head out the window. Have you heard of pup cups? They are the best! I would love to have a doggy buddy in my home to play with and to make me feel more confident. I have a medium to higher energy level, so regular walks or playtime in the yard would help me burn off my puppy energy. Do you have any toys for me to play with? I'm not picky; any toys are welcome! If I sound like a great fit for your family, please apply to adopt me. My adoption fee is $175 and includes my spay, microchip, vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕
