Story
Meet Mia – A Resilient, Playful, and Loving Companion! Mia is a 4-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who’s come a long way since she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She has blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who’s ready for her forever home. These days, Mia loves being a ride-along buddy—she enjoys running errands, exploring home improvement stores, and meeting new people (especially those with treats!). She’s gentle when taking snacks from both her foster and friendly strangers, and her social confidence continues to grow every day. Mia is leash-trained and also worked with professional trainers to build her confidence and reduce her fear-based reactions. She’s made amazing progress and knows several commands, including sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is currently learning leave it. She’s crate-trained and happily settles in with a peanut butter Kong. At home, Mia is a great balance of playful and calm. She loves romping in the yard, playing chase or wrestling with her foster sister, and showing off her epic zoomies before curling up in a cozy spot for a nap. Mia can be protective of her resources around other dogs, but she’s making steady progress. She would thrive either as an only dog or with a larger, calm, and playful canine companion. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or young children. Mia can jump a short fence, so she’ll need a home with a tall, secure privacy fence or an adopter committed to leash-walking her for potty breaks. Mia has a big heart and is ready to share it with the right person or family. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s already put in the work to become her best self—Mia might just be the one! If you are interested in meeting Mia, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Mia's adoption fee is $100 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.

Story
Kicker is a sweet and gentle 11 year old senior dog whose golden years shine with loyalty, warmth, and a heart full of love. At this stage in his life, Kicker has truly mastered the art of balance—he is equally delighted to curl up beside you for a cozy cuddle as he is to give you space when you need it. This thoughtful companion knows how to read the room, making him a wonderful match for someone who appreciates a calm yet affectionate presence. He is great on a leash which makes walks with him not only peaceful but also enjoyable. When Kicker came to us he had an infection in one of his toes. This eventually required a toe amputation (hence the pictures with his foot wrapped) but this is now completely healed and he has no mobility issues. Kicker blends right in with other dogs, making him a perfect for families who already have dogs, as well as those who may be welcoming a dog into their lives for the very first time. Just no cats for this boy, as he is a bit too curious. Beyond his charming quirks, Kicker’s loyalty stands out the most. He is the type of dog who forms deep bonds with his people. He has all the wisdom of a senior, wrapped up in the softness of a gentle soul who still enjoys life’s pleasures—treats, walks, cuddles, and companionship. If you are interested in meeting Kicker, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Kicker's adoption fee is $100 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm, and HW testing.

Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 6-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. **Freya has poultry sensitivity and will need to be on a lamb, beef, or salmon based food*** If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Freya's adoption fee is $250 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, and cherry eye surgery on both eyes.

Story
Meet Bella Bella is a 13-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix who is looking for a soft place to land for her golden years. She's a gentle senior girl who still enjoys the best things in life: car rides, naps in the sun, pup cups, cozy dog beds, toys, and snuggling up in the human bed close to her people of course. Don't let her age fool you, this girl is spry and loves to prance. She loves to go to work with foster mom but would also love a more quiet home where her people are home a bit more. Bella gets along well with other calm, small dogs and has a quiet, easygoing personality. Like many senior pups, she does have some incontinence if left alone for a long time. She will need a patient adopter who understands that aging dogs sometimes need a little extra grace and care. What Bella offers in return is companionship, sweetness, and the kind of love only a senior dog can give. She deserves a home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and cherished for the rest of her days. If you are interested in meeting Bella, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Bella's adoption fee is $50 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, and HW testing.

Story
Chief is full of energy and wants to go outside. He is a runner so he needs to be in a backyard that is fenced or he has to be leashed. He has had formal training and knows several commands. We are both on very busy schedules and he sits in the house all day alone right now so we are trying to find him a home that has either other dogs/kids or somewhere he can play and run. Chief is a beautiful dog and he just needs a active owner or a owner that has time to spend with him or has dog and/or kids.PLEASE do not apply if you are not serious, I have had two people already string me along for weeks. WE have to find Chief a home ASAP so serious inquiries only.
