Story
Meet Mia – A Resilient, Playful, and Loving Companion! Mia is a 2-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who’s come a long way since she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. With lots of love, patience, and professional training, she’s blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who’s ready for her forever home. These days, Mia loves being a ride-along buddy—she enjoys running errands, exploring home improvement stores, and meeting new people (especially those with treats!). She’s gentle when taking snacks from both her foster and friendly strangers, and her social confidence continues to grow every day. Mia is leash-trained and has been working with professional trainers for the past six months to build her confidence and reduce her fear-based reactions. She’s made amazing progress and knows several commands, including sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is currently learning leave it. She’s crate-trained and happily settles in with a peanut butter Kong. At home, Mia is a great balance of playful and calm. She loves romping in the yard, playing chase or wrestling with her foster sister, and showing off her epic zoomies before curling up in a cozy spot for a nap. Because of her background, Mia can be protective of her resources around other dogs, but she’s making steady progress. She would thrive either as an only dog or with a larger, calm, and playful canine companion. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or young children. Mia can jump a short fence, so she’ll need a home with a tall, secure privacy fence or an adopter committed to leash-walking her for potty breaks. Mia has a big heart and is ready to share it with the right person or family. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s already put in the work to become her best self—Mia might just be the one! If you are interested in meeting Mia, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Mia's adoption fee is $100 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.

Story
Kicker is a sweet and gentle 11 year old senior dog whose golden years shine with loyalty, warmth, and a heart full of love. At this stage in his life, Kicker has truly mastered the art of balance—he is equally delighted to curl up beside you for a cozy cuddle as he is to give you space when you need it. This thoughtful companion knows how to read the room, making him a wonderful match for someone who appreciates a calm yet affectionate presence. He is great on a leash which makes walks with him not only peaceful but also enjoyable. When Kicker came to us he had an infection in one of his toes. This eventually required a toe amputation (hence the pictures with his foot wrapped) but this is now completely healed and he has no mobility issues. Kicker blends right in with other dogs, making him a perfect for families who already have dogs, as well as those who may be welcoming a dog into their lives for the very first time. Just no cats for this boy, as he is a bit too curious. Beyond his charming quirks, Kicker’s loyalty stands out the most. He is the type of dog who forms deep bonds with his people. He has all the wisdom of a senior, wrapped up in the softness of a gentle soul who still enjoys life’s pleasures—treats, walks, cuddles, and companionship. If you are interested in meeting Kicker, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Kicker's adoption fee is $100 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm, and HW testing.

Story
Burner is seeking a family! This little guy (under 40lbs) was running free and decided he just didn't like being alone. He's still just a kid, after all, about 1.5 years old. His eyes may be different colors and his ears may be a lil goofy, but no one taught him how to match. He's since learned the good life, and doesn’t require much bed space as he prefers to be as close to his person as possible. If you're in a shared space or apartment, please be aware he loves to sing...loudly. He also enjoys a good tuggy toy with dog friends and chewing on bone bones. Recently, his friends have introduced him to the delicacy of peanut butter and he hasn't looked back. Got kids? Dogs? Awesome!! Burner loves playing with friends! He hasn't been around a cat, but chihuahuas are scary! If you are interested in meeting Burner, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Burner's adoption fee is $200 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, neuter, HW testing, and microchip.

Story
Meet Penny 🐾 Penny is a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give — once you’re “her person.” She’s shy and slow to warm up at first, but once she trusts you, your lap becomes her favorite place in the world. She’s wonderful on a harness and leash and truly enjoys going for walks. While she’s a cuddler at heart, her terrier side comes out in playtime, and she loves her toys. Penny didn’t grow up with other pets, but after a brief adjustment period, she’s now happily playing with two small dogs — showing she could do well in a home with other small, friendly pups. Penny can be anxious when left alone, so a home where someone works from home or can check in during the day would be ideal. She’s looking for a patient, loving home that understands that the best kind of bond is one you earn — and once you do, Penny’s loyalty and affection are truly special. If you are interested in meeting Penny, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Penny's adoption fee is $250 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, HW testing, and microchip.

Story
Meet Saylor, aka Saylor Sunshine! Saylor is a sweet, playful 8-month-old yellow Lab mix who radiates happiness and love once she comes out of her shell. She has a history of being malnourished, so she’s a little timid at first—but with patience, trust, and love, she blossoms into a joyful, affectionate companion. Saylor is a “dog’s dog” and would thrive with a playful canine sibling to show her how wonderful life can be in a loving home. She also gets along with cats and is gentle with children, though she would do best with older kids due to her sensitivity to sudden movements and loud noises. This sweet girl loves cuddles on the couch, playing with toys, and lounging in the sun. She’s currently learning potty and puppy manners, and she has a fear of cars, so a home with a fenced yard for safe play is ideal. Saylor is ready to bond deeply with someone willing to give her patience, guidance, and unconditional love. She’s a light in the dark and deserves a forever family to love and protect her—could that be you? If you are interested in meeting Saylor, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Story
We got Snow as a puppy, and she is a very sweet dog, active, and she's very talkative, especially when you are delaying her from eating her food! She loves getting all the pets and is adorable when she is asking to be petted. She likes to play with toys, loves walks, and she is fast and an excellent rodent catcher (and bunnies and birds). She is trained to know sit, lay down, go potty (she is fully housetrained). Snow needs to be an "only (dog) child", as being part of a pack causes her anxiety, especially with other females. She is up to date on all of her vet care, shots, meds, etc. She would do great with someone who could walk her regularly, or lives on land where she can chase squirrels to her heart's content!
