Story
My name is Hachi, and Im an eight-year-old Akita mix with a heart thats both tender and fiercely loyal once I know youre truly mine. When we first meet, I might hang back a little and take my time deciding if youre someone I can trust. Akitas are thoughtful like that, and Im no exception. But give me a moment to breathe, let me read your energy, and youll see my whole world soften. Once I choose you, I choose you completely.

Ive lived long enough to know what I like, and Im hoping to find a family who understands the unique quirks that come with being an Akita. Im a golden girl now, so I appreciate a calm home where I can relax without too much chaos. Id prefer to be your one and only pet, not because I dont appreciate other animals, but because I feel safest when I dont have to share my space. Older kids-twelve and up-are just right for me, especially those who know how to move gently and respectfully around a dog who values her boundaries.

Since my joints arent as spry as they used to be, a home with minimal stairs would make my days much more comfortable. I still enjoy strolls, fresh air, and being near my people, but Im happiest when I can settle in a cozy spot and simply exist beside someone who loves me.

If youre an Akita-savvy family looking for a devoted companion who will stand by you with quiet strength and unwavering loyalty, Im ready to meet you. I may start off a little shy, but once I let you in, youll have my whole heart.

Story
Hi, Im Aurora... Im a 6-year-old mixed-breed girl with a soft heart and a gentle spirit. Even though Im a bigger dog, the world can feel a little overwhelming sometimes, and Im hoping to find someone who understands that. I warm up slowly, but once I trust you, Im loyal, loving, and full of quiet sweetness.

Im looking for a calm, patient home where I can take my time to settle in. Loud noises and sudden movements can make me nervous, so Id feel most comfortable with a family that has kids over the age of five-little ones who understand that Im a bit of a timid soul. I may be shy at first, but I promise I have a heart of gold. Im gentle with everyone, even when Im unsure, and Im happiest when Im allowed to just be close to someone who makes me feel safe.

No one really knows where I came from, but Im hoping the rest of my days are filled with kindness, comfort, and people who see the beauty in a dog like me. If youre looking for a sweet companion who will love you deeply, even if it takes me a moment to show it, I might be the girl youve been waiting for.

Story
Hi, my name is Sophie, and everything about me fits my name. Im sweet, friendly, loving, and Ive spent four wonderful years being a very good girl in a home. Ill tell you why Im looking for a new place soon - but first, let me tell you a little about me.

Ive got femme-fatale good looks and the brains to match. Im fully house-trained, I do great in a crate, and I adore a fenced-in backyard where I can sunbathe like a tiny, furry supermodel. I know sit, stay, outside, and even high five - Im basically a genius with paws.

As for my ideal home, Im hoping for a calm, cozy place with adults or older kids who understand personal space and good manners. I love predictable routines and gentle humans who appreciate a classy lady like me.

Im loyal, affectionate, and truly wonderful through and through. I just need the right match to help me shine again.

Come meet me! Id really love to find love again.

*Rosie Fund is providing Sophies adopter with a Rosie Life Starter Kit, which is a $100 gift card to purchase items such as a collar and leash, food, treats, toy, and other enrichment items. PLUS B.Legendary Photography Creations has added a $350 photo artwork voucher! Visit rosiefund.org to see videos of Sophie and all current Rosie Dogs available for adoption.

Story
The name is Missy and if youre looking for a loyal, lovable companion with just the right mix of sass and sweetness, allow me to reintroduce myself.

Im gentle-hearted, a little shy at first, but once I warm up (a few treats help), Im all about the good vibes only. I love toys, belly rubs, and snack time like its my full-time job. And when I get comfortable? Oh, the kisses and tail wags dont stop.

I walk like Ive got a purpose, because I do, right next to you. I already know sit, down, drop it and sometimes even shake (because I do like to work it!). And yes, I LOVE to fetch tennis balls and bring them right back like a pro. Missy dont miss.

Id do best in a calm home, ideally with no kiddos under 12, just a chill vibe where I can truly shine. If youre patient and kind, I promise Ill flip it and reverse it into a beautiful friendship. Great example is I was in a foster home and properly met 3 well-behaved kiddos (5, 7 and 10). They were instructed to allow me to make the first move to meet them. It took no time for me to go up to them and greet them. Then, we had super time together with them throwing balls and me bringing them back, dropping the ball so they could throw again.

Lets take it slow... and make some magic.

Love,
Missy

Story
I sure wish I had some great story to tell you about my past life. You know&#44 a story where Im the hero&#44 and I rescued my family from a burning building; or&#44 I pulled the sled team alongside Balto&#44 and we raced across the Alaskan tundra getting life saving medicine to sick children. Alas&#44 I cant tell you those stories because I think I just made them up.

No&#44 I was actually adopted from Great Plains four years ago&#44 and once I went home&#44 well&#44 I lost touch with my friends here. Fast forward to today&#44 and I came into the shelter again because my family moved away and deserted me at our house. I know for a fact it wasnt me or anything I said or did. I think they just didnt want the responsibility of a dog any longer so they abandoned me. Im over it&#44 and I hold no grudges against humans because of them. I know that I need to open my heart to a new family&#44 trust them&#44 and that maybe this time - THIS TIME - they will love me and care for me until the end of my days. I want to be a member of a family and do my part to care and support and love all of those in it.

I lucked out and have had the privilege of living in a foster home with a wonderful couple. They are so good to me&#44 and in return&#44 I have been nothing but a very good dog. I stick to my Foster Mom (FM) like a little bit of velcro. We have kissing sessions in the morning&#44 belly rubs mid-morning&#44 and a wonderful walk around the neighborhood whenever we want. My Foster Dad missed having a dog in the house&#44 so they decided that fostering would be the way to go. He and FM say that&#44 and I quote&#44 Kermit is the best foster dog we have ever had. I am perfect in the home&#44 I am as sweet and loving as they come&#44 and I even get to sleep in bed with them sometimes. They have a four-foot fence&#44 and I dont try to jump it or anything. What kind of dumbo would you have to be to jump a fence and leave this home and family? I love them with all my heart.

Im a calmer guy now than when I was at the shelter previously&#44 more relaxed and mellow than before. Ive maybe gotten over some of my fears&#44 and Ive learned that love is the most important thing in life. Love and smelling the roses on a daily basis. Oh and eating bonbons with someone you love on the couch watching a rom-com. I prefer affection and attention from my human(s) above all else. I want a home where I can hang my hat&#44 climb into my bed&#44 and drift off to sleep knowing that I have a safe and loving haven in which to live. Yes&#44 Ive reached my senior years. And they are years to be enjoyed and savored - like a good book or fine wine. Honestly&#44 I liken myself to a vintage bottle of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. We both have a smooth&#44 velvety texture&#44 we age gracefully over time&#44 even improving as the years go by. Could you ask for anything more in a dog?

I hope that you are my person. I hope that you are reading about me and want to meet me. I so want my chance at a happily ever after.

Love from Kermit (aka Kirby)

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography
