Story
Age: 2 years Size: 58 pounds Estimated breed: Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix Spotty needs a home with: resident dog(s), fenced in yard, no young children   Update 7/7:  Spotty is super dog social guy who needs to be with other dogs. He absolutely adores every dog he meets. Spotty is still a little reserved around people but has been making huge strides and seems to improve every day! He has gone through professional training to work on self- confidence and is able to go on walks now and trust more than he used to. Spotty is super submissive and needs a home with a very social dog that will hang out and play with him all day. He loves to play with dogs more than anything. Spotty is also house trained and crate trained. He requires a fenced yard as he can get spooked and we don’t want to take chances of him trying to flee. Spotty has endless potential if you give him the time and patience he needs and deserves to come out of his shell! -------- Spotty is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and 45 pounds. He was found as a stray in SC and was completely petrified at the shelter. He sat in a corner shaking and had to be carried just to move out of his kennel. He came to us very nervous and shy but with the help of his canine friends, he is slowly learning to trust and thriving in his foster home. He has also met and done training with our trainer where he is now comfortable going for walks on a leash and exploring the outdoors!   Spotty gains comfort from other dogs, so he requires a home with a friendly resident dog to help show him the ropes. Spotty would do best in a home without young children as he is still gets timid around new people and retreats. With time and patience, he will show his new family how goofy and happy he really is. All he needs is someone who is understands that just needs a little time to know he is safe. His best quality..... he is AMAZING with other dogs and wants to be their best friend. If you have a dog that has been wanting a sibling, Spotty is your guy!   To adopt Spotty, please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   Please note we cannot guarantee the breed or adult size of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training. November 4, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
You know that scene in Lilo and Stitch, when the animal shelter employee isn`t entirely sure if Stitch is an alien or a dog, but since he`s already there, they just sorta let him go home with a little girl? That`s what we`re doing here with Xan.Xan is a little alien dog who has come from the very furthest corners of the universe to spread his unconditional love, endearing personality, and super duper cute squish face with the people of planet earth.Don`t be thrown by Xan`s pink skin and silly wrinkles. We think it just adds to his charm (although we do hope it clears up soon!) Xan is on a special diet and we have seen much improvement since his arrival! He will need to stay on a special diet after his adoption to keep his skin from getting worse again, but Xan doesn`t mind!! We just tell him it`s special extra yummy food for only the goodest of boys, and he seems to think it`s the best thing in the whole wide world.Xan is spunky, outgoing, lovable, and so so sweet. This extraterrestrial babe is the talk of the town and is always a staff and volunteer favorite.Come adopt Xan before he gets zapped back up to the mothership!

Meet Da Vinci, a lovable, mischievous pup who`s ready to find his forever home! This smart and rambunctious 3 year old Pug Beagle mix is house-trained and eager to learn more with the right guidance. He`s got a heart full of sweetness and can`t get enough pets and cuddles. Once he starts snuggling, you won’t want to stop!Da Vinci is a fan of playing fetch, though he`s a bit cheeky and prefers to keep the toys for himself rather than bring them back (hey, it`s all part of his playful charm!). He’s treat-motivated and loves the chance to earn a snack, making him a fantastic candidate for more training. Whether you’re looking for a fun, energetic companion or a dog to bond with over playtime and cuddles, Da Vinci is your guy!

Story
Hi, I`m Juliet! I`m an energetic and sweet girl who loves nothing more than to cuddle and give hugs. I can get pretty excited on walks because I love meeting new people and exploring the world around me. I`m housetrained and crate trained, and I know basic commands like sit, crate, down and touch. I love to cozy up right next to you when I sleep, though I`m also okay with sleeping alone on the sofa. With daily walks, plenty of love, and playtime, I`m a happy and loving companion who can`t wait to share my love for life and affection with everyone I meet! Likes: People!! I LOVE anyone I meet and will greet anyone with a wagging tail, kisses, and hugs! Rubber Chew Toys I love my chew time, but I can be a little slobbery when doing so. Tennis Balls I`m always down for a game of fetch! Dislikes: Puddles or Creeks I try my best to avoid those when I can. Gotta keep these paws in tip-top shape! Being Alone I do have a bit of anxiety when my humans leave me, but the crate is a safe place for me to wait until they come home! I feel safe and secure in my crate knowing the humans will return. Story
Age: 1 years old Size: 45 lbs Estimated breed: Labrador retriever/Shepherd mix Resident dog required as Cilantro is still working on building his self confidence. He is a very timid dog initially but with time and patience he warms up and loves.  Cilantro was found dumped on the side of the road with his 6 littermates. They were completely emaciated and starved for food. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan picked them up and took them to the shelter, where they could finally eat and drink, but they still were not safe. We worked with another rescue to take the puppies into our care, and were able to bring Basil and Cilantro in foster care to wait for their forever homes! Basil did find a home, but Cilantro is still waiting patiently for his. He is a shy but sweet puppy who does great with other dogs and people! Since he is still young, he will need a forever family committed to working with him while he continues to learn everything he needs to know. He is also great with CATS!!!!    To adopt Cilantro, please apply on our website! https://www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs.
