Story
Darby is a sweet girl. We adopted her from the San Antonio Humane Society in 2015. She is approximately 11 years old. She is very kind and does well with dogs and kids. She's only been around a couple of cats over the years, but was good with them too. Darby has been living with another dog for the past 7 years who is also up for adoption as well. She is a very easy going girl and loves attention, but seems to be very content with her alone time as well. Darby is in great health despite not seeing a vet on a regular basis. Unfortunately, I have to move and can't take her with me.

Story
Meet Frankie🐾 Found tied up outside in the streets of Nashville, Frankie knew no other life than survival. Despite living in outside elements, for who knows how long, he doesn’t let that stop him from being a brave, outgoing, courageous boy. Brought to Hanover PA by car, he proved to be an excellent passenger! Sleeping to the rumble of the road and occasionally looking out the window to enjoy the view. Since being in foster, Frankie has learned simply how to be a dog. He is crate trained, house broken, and loves spending his days lounging in the sun. He is eager to meet new people, and does so excitedly. While we are still learning manners to become a gentleman, Frankie’s eagerness to please shines through in his training. This boy is ready for adventure by day and cuddles with his people by night. He’s guaranteed to be the life of the party in the household! With his big smile & even bigger personality, he is ready for forever🩷

Story
This is our sweet Diamond. We rescued her from a family member that neglected her badly. When she got to us, she took to our family very well and seemed grateful for just about everything. She is known for her puppy dog eyes and the way that she looks to you when she wants something. We later found out that she was mixed with border collie and the stare down is typical to her breed. She is very good with children, but she is aging and would probably do best in a household where there are no very small children (I feel like we have put her through enough with our kids). She loves to go on walks and she will follow you from room to room. She wants to be around people all of the time. We have to surrender Diamond because of my allergies and health concerns that are growing increasingly more problematic. It has caused us to severely restrict where Diamond can be in the house so that I can breath. My husband and I have realized that this is unfair to our sweet girl.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. If you go there, she will be overjoyed to be at your side. At only 13 lbs., she will fit well into a backpack or a front snuggly. Extra outgoing and friendly, she loves the whole world. For you, of course, she will reserve a very special love that will last a lifetime and then some. You can count on her to greet your friends with tail wags.  If you want to bring warmth, joy, and happiness into your life, Milkshake is your girl. Come meet her and see for yourself. Milkshake is working on housetraining and will need continued training with leash and harness. She didn't have any training in her previous home. NOTE:  Milkshake has some crate anxiety when left alone, so she needs to go to a home with another dog and a person who is home most of the time. A fenced yard is required because she still has a lot of puppy energy. If you are interested in Milkshake, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2026, 9:10 pm
