Nash is the sweetest, most loving puppy. He is playful and a great cuddler. He is proud of his toys and makes sure to show it!! He is very energetic and needs lots of play time. He was adopted from an animal shelter with a birthday of May 6, 2024 making him just over 2 years old. He is good with all human friends, kids included. He is good with other animals, but prefers other dogs with his same playfulness. He loves to run and play, but loves a good cuddle with his human, too. He is house trained and crate trained, and listens to commands well.

Story
Chonky is a 6 year old beagle/boxer mix. He is a couch potato, and would love nothing more than to curl up and snuggle all day. He loves to be around people, and will follow you through the house for “moral support.” He has lived with other dogs before, but seems to do best with low energy dogs that give him his personal space. He does not like to be jumped on or wrestled with. He doesn’t do well with cats, but has lived around Guinea pigs and ferrets and seemed very unbothered/disinterested by them. He is a very sweet, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Has been around kids his whole life and loves them. A little shy at first, but once he warms up to you he will be your best friend.

Story
Elliot will be 12 in November and has been part of our family along with her sister since they were 14 weeks old. Elliot is a gentle 30lb girl. She loves going for walks and running outside. She loves being pet and cuddling up next to you. She is quite protective and will alert if anyone enters the home/yard, she welcomes people kindly but with caution. Elliot loves playing with her sister and is fine around other animals but generally prefers to keep to herself. She is good with children. We love her very much and this is a hard decision to come to, but we have entered a different season of life as we now have three young children and are having a fourth child this summer - between my husband and I both having full time jobs and parenting we are no longer able to give them the love and attention they deserve. We are hoping they will find a loving home to ideally take them on together as they have been lifelong besties.

Story
Nati will be 12 this November. My husband adopted her and her sister when they were 12 weeks old in 2015 from a rescue shelter and have had them ever since. She’s a timid, loving dog who enjoys cuddles. She is great and gentle with kids and so docile. She is good with other dogs and enjoys playing with other animals . She enjoys walks, but with her older age also loves lounging around the house. She is potty trained, has no health issues, is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots. We are seeking to re-home her and her sister ideally to the same home as they are truly best friends and would likely be heartbroken apart. We love them so much and this is a hard decision for our family. We adopted them when it was just my husband and I - we have since added 3 young children and will be having our fourth child this summer and are no longer able to provide the love and attention they need and deserve between both working full time and caring for our children.

Story
My name is Mister Clean and I’m looking for my forever home. Why am I named after a bald guy? Well, I came to SIRA after being found lying in mud on the side of the road, emaciated and bald from a severe flea infestation. I was in bad shape. X-rays showed metal and food wrappers in my tummy – I was so hungry I ate anything! My ears were infected and I was very anemic. But once I got food and vet care, things got much better! My fur started growing back and my ears healed. And I put on weight – I’m about 28 pounds now. I am being fostered just north of Columbus, OH. SIRA thinks I’m about 10 years old. I’m great with other dogs and I love cuddling with my foster family. Yep, you heard that right. I’m a “fake Shiba” since I love to snuggle. My foster family was told that I may have a disc problem in my back and maybe something going on with my hips, but so far, nothing slows me down. I dart, spin, and dance my way through the house! Every time I come in from a potty break, I get the most exquisite zoomies. I pirouette, fling myself up on the couch, and then dance around the whole house. I love going on walks with my foster family, getting treats and belly rubs, and perching on my favorite chair. I’ll happily speak up and tell you off if you’re too slow to take me outside or if you’re not sharing your treats with me. I am fully house trained and I do fine when my foster family has to leave the house. Now that I’ve beaten the odds, the only thing I need is a forever family. My perfect forever home will have a nice comfy spot with a sunbeam to nap in and someone who will let me sit in their lap and give me a rub-down. If there’s another nice dog, that would be great, but I’d probably do fine as an only dog as long as you spend time with me. I’d do best with a securely fenced yard, but also enjoy leash walks. I'm neutered and vaccinated and ready to go! I haven’t lived with children, cats or small pets, so I don’t know how I’d be with them. If you live in the Midwest and want to give my “rags to riches” story its happy ending, I promise I’ll be your fun, smart, spunky very best buddy. Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you to make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet. I would love that!

Story
Hi, I’m Zeus and I’m looking for my forever home. Foster dad says I always look like I’m trying to remember what I walked into the room for. (Geez, thanks!) But I’m a loveable goofball - the kind of guy who is always happy to be included. I am 5 y.o. and weight 33 lbs and am being fostered in Columbus, OH. My life hasn’t been easy. I came to SIRA from a shelter with severe skin issues and missing fur. But after lots of TLC, I’m healthy and happy now. I love people. I get so excited to meet new friends that I sometimes bark while they’re petting me. I don’t want them to stop - I just have a lot of feelings! Give me time, a few treats, and some scratches, and you’ll be my best friend. If you have a snack, I’m happy to share. You can put hats on me, sunglasses, shirts - I don’t care! I’m just excited to be together. And behind my goofy face, I’m actually pretty clever. Puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and games that make me think are my favorite ways to stay busy. If I’m bored, I’ll figure out how to get into places I shouldn’t. I do best with some structure and routine, including consistent potty breaks and crate time when appropriate. I’m an easygoing guy. I love being outside, chasing tennis balls, playing tug-of-war, sniffing everything. When I’m indoors, I love to watch the neighborhood from the window like it’s a TV show. I’d be happiest as an only dog or with calm, independent dogs that don’t mind sharing. I like the dogs in my foster home, but I sometimes feel possessive around food, treats, and attention, so feeding separately and managing high-value items is important. I haven’t lived with little kids, so I don’t know what I’d think about them. I should not live with cats or small critters since I like to chase them! I’m a healthy boy – neutered and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and think you might be my forever person, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn if we’d be a good match. Once you’re approved, they’ll introduce you to my foster dad so we can meet! I hope you’re my new best friend!
