A spirited Jack Russell terrier mix with a heart twice the size of her tiny frame, Glimmer’s journey hasn't been a typical one—but she’s ready for her happiest chapter yet. A Brave Journey Glimmer’s story began in Alabama, but her dreams were much bigger than the Deep South. Despite being completely blind, this courageous puppy didn't let the unknown slow her down. She hopped on a transport and traveled all the way to Ohio, trusting that her forever family was waiting somewhere at the end of the road. Personality & Perks Don't let her lack of sight fool you—Glimmer navigates the world with her sharp nose, her perky ears, and an incredible sense of joy.• Toy Enthusiast: She has a "Jack Russell" engine under the hood! Glimmer loves toys that squeak, crinkle or jingle. She uses her keen hearing to track her playthings and will proudly "hunt" them down in the living room.• Professional Cuddler: Once playtime is over, Glimmer’s favorite place to be curled up in your lap under a warm blanket. She lives for human connection and will happily snooze in your lap for hours.• Resilient Spirit: She is a fast learner who maps out her environment quickly. She doesn't see obstacles; she just sees more things to sniff! The Ideal Home Glimmer is looking for a family that understands that "special needs" really just means "extra special love." She would thrive in a home where:• The furniture stays in a consistent place so she can map her surroundings.• Her humans are ready for plenty of playtime followed by serious snuggle sessions.• A patient hand is ready to guide her as she continues to grow and learn. Glimmer may not be able to see your face, but she can certainly feel your heart. She’s traveled hundreds of miles just to find you—are you the one she’s been waiting for? Story
Bio for Butterscotch! • Name: Butterscotch   • Male or female? Female   • Approximate Age: a little over a year    • Breed: boxer mix    • Weight: 43lbs   • Any impairments: deaf   • Potty trained? Yes   • Crate trained? Yes   • Good with other dogs? Yes   • Good with cats? Yes but needs proper introduction    • Good with kids? Yes   • Commands known: wait, focus   • Need another dog in the home? No    • Location: Midland, Michigan    • Energy level (high/med/low)? High   • Need fence? Yes preferably high fence unless the yard is very large she likes room to run around & jump    •Bio    Meet Butterscotch! Butterscotch is a happy-go-lucky girl looking for her perfect home! Some of her favorite things include playing with her foster siblings and going for leisurely walks with her person and chewing on a good bone. She’s a perfect angel on a leash and because she is deaf she prefers to stay with you at all times!   Her beginning was anything but easy and as a result is still working on her manners. She has mastered waiting in her kennel before being released and waiting at doors before walking outside. We are still working on hand signals but she’s learning quickly how to look at her people for directions we are working on recall with a vibration collar when she is outside with other dogs as well as to let her know when she is playing to rough she is still working on boundaries and can go home with another dog in the home but again is working on boundaries will need a confident / secure dog    Some things to know!    •Butterscotch spent over half of her short life in a windowless shelter, as a result she takes a couple weeks to fully settle in to a new space. Her perfect home would be with someone who is able to be home with her often and with another secure dog that will set good boundaries as sometimes she does not realize how hard she’s playing.    •She is currently on anxiety medication to help her settle enough to work through new things. She is fearless, though sometimes struggles with overstimulation and needs a patient home willing to put in the work she needs! She can eventually be eased off of her medication.    •she is technically kennel trained, although will cry in her kennel for awhile at first. When she first came to her foster home, she did best when she was with her calm dog friends to show her that everything is okay.    •Butterscotch can jump a 4ft fence and has escaped kennels.   •Can live peacefully with cats that set clear boundaries, though will try to play!   •LOVES kids, but needs to be reminded to stay down and be calm.   •Butterscotch’s best friend is her Aussie foster sister. She plays well with other dogs that match her energy level but that will also still set boundaries when play time is done.    Butterscotch has so much love to give and would love a family that is willing to put in the work she needs to thrive!   Other fun facts about butterscotch she likes to wear a good sweater in this cold weather to keep her cozy she is a good cuddle buddy / thinks she is a lap dog she’s always interested in whatever her people are doing just likes to follow you around! ***PLEASE READ*** WE DO NOT RESPOND TO PETFINDER OR EMAIL INQUIRIES. Story
Bio for Pelvis Presley! Male or female- Spayed Female Age-10-11months  Breed- Pitbull mix Weight- 38lbs Impairment-Previous broken pelvis Potty trained- Working on it Crate trained- Is currently crated when foster is not home, does not love it. Good with other dogs- yes, would need a meet and greet Good with kids- yes Commands known- Knows her name, comes when called (most times)  Need fence- Preferred, she does not walk well on a leash. Working on it. Need another dog in house- No, enjoys other dogs. However, is more attached to "her person" Location- Kalamazoo, MI Energy- Medium Good with cats- Wants to play hard with cats. Currently living with VERY dog friendly cats. Does chase to play with them. Would be easier in a house with no cats   Meet Pelvis Presley! She was originally brought into animal control when a good Samaritan found her. Unfortunately she was terrified while running loose and unfortunately was hit by a car. She did have a broken pelvis. Fortunately it has healed with some exercise restriction is now able to work up to normal activity. She'd likely benefit from some joint supplements to help prevent the likely arthritis that may occur after this injury. She's not quite able to stretch that leg out as well as the other, but it does NOT slow her down. She wants to run/jump and play like any other puppy. However, she is not super energetic and would do fine with regular walks. No long runs needed.  She's a sweet "pocket pitty" that loves her person. She's currently being fostered in family with a 2 year old child, 2 female dogs (1 small and one large) and 2 cats. She does well with the child and the dogs. She likes to chase and play with the cats, she has shown no aggression towards them. However, she could easily stress out not super dog friendly cats. She still needs some work on socialization and can be slow to warm up, but she is huge cuddler once she becomes attached. She is currently attached to the mom in the house, but does well with everyone. She would love someone that is home often or even able to take her to work. She will be your shadow around the house. She will bark when she sees or hears people approaching the house, but she is excited/nervous when they enter. She is still working on house breaking, but is only improving. She will also use a pee pad if one is offered.  She is spayed and up to date with her core vaccines. Who doesn't want a fun size pitty as a house companion! Please consider adopting Presley! ##2619644##
