For a chihuahua this little guy is a really nice dog. Had a small stubborn streak but overall loves everyone, listens, playful, cuddles, prefers a pee pad inside to going outside but is catching on to it. Typical little dog with big dog attitude. p>I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.    September 4, 2026, 11:37 pm

Story
DOB: 1/18/2026 Hi there, I’m Peanut!  I’m a Chihuahua mix puppy and pretty much everything in the world is brand new and exciting to me. I’ve got a whole lot of energy packed into my little body and I love to run and play and explore. But here’s my secret. When the playing is done, all I really want to do is climb into your lap and snuggle up close. I’m a serious cuddle bug. I follow my foster mom everywhere she goes. Kitchen, couch, you name it, I’m right behind her like a tiny shadow. And when it’s mealtime I sit and wait so patiently because I already know good things come to puppies who are sweet. I get along with just about everybody. The kittens, the older cats, the big dogs, I love them all and I just want to be friends. I think the world is a wonderful place full of people and animals to love. I also love going to new places and seeing new things. Adventure is my middle name. I’m doing really well with my crate training and my potty training too. I’m even learning to ring a little bell when I need to go outside, and I’d love a person who keeps helping me get really good at it. At the end of the day I curl up with my foster family and my foster sibling and I feel so safe and happy. That’s all I want for the rest of my life. Someone to love, a warm spot to snuggle into, and a few new adventures along the way. Could that someone be you?   I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  September 4, 2026, 11:37 pm

Story
We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient home for our 5-year-old Standard Poodle, Griffy. He is highly intelligent, loyal, and very people-oriented, forming strong bonds and thriving on close companionship. He would do best as the only pet, following two incidents with the same small dog. He can be sensitive with handling—especially around paws and mouth—and has shown some reactivity during grooming. Due to sensitivities and a young child in our home, we feel he needs a calm, adult-only environment where he can feel secure. He will need an experienced owner comfortable continuing training and building trust. In the right setting, he is a loving and devoted companion. He loves running outside, swimming, walks, and balls. He has never ripped up any of his toy and can recall them by name. He has an obsession with pillows and blankets and loves to lay on top of them while sitting next to you on the couch.

Story
Gunner is a male black and tan hound mix around 3 years old and weighs around 50 pounds. Gunner was rescued from a rural small-town dog pound. Gunner is a good boy. He is crate-trained and goes into his crate when told. He obeys and comes when called. He rides well in a vehicle, sits for treats, and walks on a leash. He is good about baths. He is affectionate and loves human attention and petting. He loves toys, treats, and playing with other dogs. It is very hot here in Texas, and Gunner prefers to be inside and snoozing on the couch in the air conditioning. During the heat of the day, he will go out to potty and run, and wrestle with his friends for a short time but then he is ready to come back inside to cool off. Being a hound, Gunner exhibits some typical hound behaviors. He goes ballistic over squirrels in the trees. He barks at people walking down the street and other dogs and cats he sees in the neighborhood. He will counter-surf with his partners in crime. And if I forget to secure the cabinet with the baby lock he and the other dogs will open it and raid the garbage. Gunner is a typical goofy and happy hound. Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms. He is now heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gunner is available for adoption to approved applicants. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several scheduled stops in Ohio - including but not limited to - Columbus, Cincinnati, and Akron OH.
