Story
Meet Raya: Raya is about a 2 year old (as of August 2026) boxer mix that weighs 47 pounds. Raya was surrendered to a high kill shelter with her litter of 7 puppies when we were able to rescue them from there. Raya is currently being fostered in the Mountville, PA area and would love to meet her forever family.
Raya is a very, very sweet girl! She’s incredibly friendly and absolutely LOVES meeting new people. She adores kids, enjoys playing with toys and chomping on chew bones, and is always happy to soak up attention and affection from anyone willing to give it to her!
Raya has so much love to give, and she’s hoping to find a family where she can be the one and only dog! While she enjoys playing and snuggling with the resident dog in her foster home, Raya can become protective of her favorite people when another dog is receiving affection. This resource guarding can include growling, snapping, and lunging toward the other dog. Because of this, we believe Raya would be happiest and most successful as the only dog in her forever home. She absolutely thrives on human companionship and would love nothing more than to be the center of someone’s world!
Raya is the definition of a shadow dog! She loves being wherever her humans are and spends much of her day curled up against her foster mama on the couch. She loves being petted and will even gently paw at you to ask for more!
While Raya is perfectly content being a couch potato on a lazy day, she’s also curious, playful, and always up for an adventure! She would happily keep up with an active family and especially enjoys her morning routine of riding along for school drop-off.
And did we mention how well-behaved she is around the house? Raya is both house trained and crate trained! She enjoys going for walks and is working on her leash manners, particularly when she gets excited. She also does great in the car! At bedtime, Raya will happily settle into her crate for the night, although she’d be thrilled to snuggle up beside you in bed. Raya is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.
