Story
Gizmo is a 5-year-old Boxer who is deeply loving, affectionate, and people-oriented. He thrives on companionship and is happiest when close to his humans. Gizmo is gentle, enjoys snuggling, and has a playful, fun-loving personality that truly reflects the Boxer breed. He does experience significant separation anxiety and does best in a home where someone is present most of the time or where his need for companionship can be thoughtfully managed. Gizmo is playful and energetic, but also values calm time and connection with his people. This decision has been made with great care and heartbreak, and our priority is Gizmo’s long-term wellbeing and safety. Serious inquiries only.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:12Molly is a sweet, silver-muzzled lady with a gentle soul and a playful spark. She’s 9 years young and 63 pounds, a boxer/pittie mix who’s calm and thoughtful. She can be cautious at first, but once she warms up, she shines. Volunteers note she enjoys doing her own thing, trots nicely on leash, and takes treats very politely.  She already knows sit and paw, and loves squeaky toys. She’ll even play a mellow game of fetch with an impressive catch-and-drop.  On a recent field trip to Jack London Square, Molly showed just how easygoing she can be, walking very nicely at a relaxed pace. She had no reaction to passing people, dogs, or small animals, and took everything in stride. She was a bit restless in the car, but settled in and slept on the ride back. Around other dogs, Molly stays relaxed and prefers polite, low-key interactions. She’d do great as a solo dog or with a well-matched canine friend who respects her space. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet companion who appreciates kindness and a cozy routine, Molly might just be your match.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by gon & his humans &#239&#184&#143‍ (@thisandafoster)  January 31, 2026, 1:38 pm

Story
Energetic, loving, and goofy 9-year-old Ella is super sweet but needs a family with an experienced dog owner. A little under 2ft tall and 40 lbs, she's sleek and muscular. Ella is fully house-trained and very patient with the three cats she lives with. She's never lived with kids but is generally chill with the children in the neighborhood.
She loves her toys, playing fetch, tug of war games, following you around the house, and of course, napping. Ella wants to be involved in whatever you're doing and is alert to someone coming to the door. She is highly food motivated, Ella picks up new tricks quickly but can be stubborn and easily distracted, so she needs lots of consistent positive reinforcement to maintain behavioral changes. She has many opinions and she will let you know about them.
Ella also plays well with other dogs, although sometimes she has issues with dogs larger than she is, but is good at de-escalating potential conflicts. Ella really loves company so if her new people are gone for a full work day she will need a canine companion. She's leash trained and always excited to jump in the car to visit the park. Ella is a great dog looking for a home where she is loved and cherished. Would you be the one for her?" Ella is now being fostered in Oakland, CA and her adoption fee is $275.00 Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received. Please contact us at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com for more information about this great gal or for an application to adopt.

Story
Meet Maple - Our Lovely Golden Girl with a Spark!Maple is a gentle, loving older lady with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that can find a treat from a mile away! Snacks are absolutely the way to her heart - but she also has a delightful amount of pep and enthusiasm for life. This beautiful senior girl may have a calm, kind spirit, but don't let her gray hairs fool you - she has plenty of energy and enjoys lively walks, exploring the world with a happy tail, and engaging with her people. After her adventures, she's equally content to settle in for cozy naps and soak up affection. Maple came to us with a mammary tumor that was removed during her stay in our care. While testing showed that it had likely already metastasized, she currently shows no signs of illness. Her expected survival could be two years or more - but even if her time may be somewhat shorter, that only makes it more important that she find her forever home soon, with someone who will cherish her golden days. Maple is a "Pawspice" adoption, meaning the East Bay SPCA will provide specific ongoing support for her care going forward. Come meet this lovely, spirited girl to learn more and see if she's the one who'll brighten your home. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 69.2 Age: 8yrs 2mths 3wks

Story
Grayson is a big, white hunk of love! He is the biggest love bug and cuddly boy you will ever meet. He is a licking machine and will try to give you kisses any chance he gets. And don’t be deceived by his size, all 63lbs of this affectionate boxer boy loves to cuddle and act like he’s small enough to be a lap dog. He will play ball, go for walks/hikes, jog with you, or play in the backyard. He’s also a chill boy in the house and will lay in his bed or cuddle with you in yours. He can be active outside and mellow inside, best of both worlds! He loves going on outings and gets excited to go for car rides. Grayson is the ultimate adventure buddy and is always up for anything! Grayson does get a little anxious when left alone and would prefer someone who can hangout with him most of the day and take him on fun adventures! He is very food motivated so you cannot leave him unattended in a room with food or he will find it (and eat it lol)! Grayson loves all people, including kids, and would be a great addition to any family. He can be jumpy when he gets excited, so dog savvy children would be better for him. Grayson does get along with some dogs but can be reactive with others. He is mostly reactive when on the leash but if out in a yard he is very playful and friendly with dogs. We have found that he is great with small dogs male or female! He is a very good playmate and friend to the resident small female dog that lives with him. He can be selective when it comes to bigger male dogs. Overall, Grayson could thrive in a home without other dogs, with small dogs, or with dogs who are submissive. If you think Grayson could be a good fit for you, please apply online to meet him. He is awaiting his forever home that will embrace his loving, goofy self!
