Story
Mudbud is about as well-rounded as they come. He's playful, confident, protective, and every now and then he'll pretend to be a little shy. He's also what we like to call a doggy bulldozer; stubborn, silly, and determined to wedge his big ol' head right into your arms for affection. This handsome boy is incredibly food motivated, but he also loves to stretch his long legs and run. Once he makes a canine friend, watch out... the zoomies are coming! Mudbud gets along with most dogs, although he occasionally decides that larger male dogs just aren't his cup of tea. Mudbud is housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, and is ready to settle into his forever home. We're still learning how he feels about children and cats. If an applicant has children, we'll schedule a safe, secure meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is comfortable together. If there are cats in the home, we'll complete a cat test with our resident HSOC cats before adoption. Mudbud is simply waiting for someone who wants a loyal companion and can't resist snuggling that precious face. We honestly can't figure out why this handsome guy is still here! If Mudbud sounds like your perfect match, submit an adoption application today to get the ball rolling.

Story
Nico is a Malinois / Mastiff mix that is 8 years of age and around 65 pounds. He is impeccably trained with obedience and commands such as sit, stay, come, place and elevated commands such as "finish," and "peak," along with some basic scent work. He is extremely loyal to his "bonded" person and needs a savvy owner to build that mutual respect. This brindle breed mix is very intelligent and although he has lived with another dog in the past, we recommend his ideal environment be a home where he is an only pet to relax in his retirement years. He is a great companion for walks, lounging in the sunshine in a fenced yard and fulfilling the couch potato roll. He is at the age where he appreciates quieter surroundings. He enjoys human contact with his people. We would love to see him live out retirement days with a person who gives him attention, comfort, the luxury items of a comfy dog bed and lounging time in the backyard sunshine!

Story
Meet Wilbur! Wilbur is a handsome 1-year-old Retriever mix with a heart as big as his smile. This affectionate love bug is happiest when he’s by your side, soaking up attention and reminding you just how wonderful unconditional love can be. Young, athletic, and full of life, Wilbur enjoys stretching his legs and would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and explore safely. After he’s had his fun, he’s more than ready to settle in for cuddles—his favorite place is wherever his people are. Wilbur is house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows how to sit. He’s eager to please and will continue to blossom with positive reinforcement and consistent guidance. While Wilbur can be selective about other dogs, he has so much love to give his humans and would do best with thoughtful introductions or as the only dog in the home. His ideal family will appreciate his loyal, affectionate nature and be excited to give him the love and attention he craves. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will greet you with a wagging tail, shower you with affection, and happily join you on all of life’s adventures, Wilbur is ready to meet you. All he needs now is a forever family to love.

Story
Boone has quite the life story. Boone went out on a home trial years ago when he suddenly became very ill. After veterinary examination, it was discovered that he had inhaled fungal spores from the soil, resulting in a serious fungal infection. Boone returned to our care and spent a long time receiving treatment. There were moments when we weren't sure he would pull through, but Boone proved just how resilient he is. Boone was also a participant in our former Camp K-9 program and quickly became a favorite of our Dog Team's Adoption Coordinator. In 2023, he found a home. Unfortunately, life circumstances have brought Boone back to us. His owner is relocating and was unable to find housing that would allow him to keep both Boone and his companion, Sammy. While Boone and Sammy get along wonderfully and could certainly be adopted together, Boone is also available to find a home of his own. Now 6 years old, Boone is entering his distinguished gentleman era. His ideal home includes a sunny spot for afternoon naps, a yard or walking path for sniffing adventures, and people who appreciate the simple joys of life. Boone has shown positive interest in other dogs through fences and glass barriers, and we can cat-test him upon request. We have not yet had the opportunity to evaluate him around children and will update his bio as we learn more. After everything he's been through, Boone deserves another, happier ending. If you'd like to meet this resilient, handsome gentleman, submit an application today!
