Story
Meet Lucky, a sweet and spunky ~3 year old neutered male rat terrier mix/Jack Russell terrier mix, weighing about 15lbs.  Lucky is a friendly, loving boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids. He likes cats but he does chase them, so a cat free home (or one with dog savvy cats) would probably be best for him. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own, as he loves to run and get his zoomies out!  From Lucky: "My name is Lucky, my foster mom calls me Loki and I answer to both. I am a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell  mix and I have energy to spare so if you have a fenced in yard I am the pup for you. I am very loving, affectionate and a happy boy.  If you let me, I can be your lap pup. I love to love you and crave your attention. I’m good with other pups and will play with them but I would like a buddy that’s bigger than me or I can be your only one and will enjoy every minute you give me. I love to go for walks and I get excited when you get my leash. I am potty trained and do best on a regular schedule. When I get over stimulated by my foster mom’s little rascals, I will chill in another room  in my bed. I am looking for my human  that will spend some quality time with me and if you feel that you are the one please apply!" Lucky is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (he does great with a routine, occasional accidents when not kept on a routine). Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2313572##

Story
Meet Marky Mark, an adorable 1 year old neutered male mixed breed dog, weighing about 25 lbs! He is full grown and the perfect portable size. Marky has the cutest short, stubby little legs and an iconic underbite! Marky can be a bit shy and unsure of new people/dogs at first and will bark at them, but he warms up quickly once he gets to know you. He is gentle and he loves to cuddle with both his human and dog friends. He also loves to play! He is pretty mellow for a young dog and is happy to just hang around with his people. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  From Marky’s current foster:  “Marky says that he may be cautious of people when he first meets them, but to give him a day or two and he will become an absolute mini tank of goofiness, love, and affection. Plus he says to check out his snaggle-tooth! ” He is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (he does mark a bit so has been wearing a belly band indoors - he was recently neutered, so we are hoping this will subside with time). Apply today to meet this super sweet boy!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Story
Sonnie is the charming, independent gentleman of this bonded senior dachshund duo. At 13 pounds, he’s all personality, confident, friendly, and endlessly lovable. He enjoys affection on his own terms and is happiest lounging on soft pillows beside his beloved Roxie, often with calm music playing in the background. Sonnie is social and friendly with other dogs and seems to want to be everyone’s friend. He knows his name and responds well to commands like stay and come. When it’s time to go outside, Sonnie makes his needs very clear, he whines softly and heads straight to the door. Snow doesn’t bother him much, and he’ll proudly do his business even in the deepest drifts before deciding it’s time to go back inside. He’s a protective little guy too, when there’s a loud noise, Sonnie instinctively positions himself in front of Roxie. At bedtime, he happily goes into his crate (when Roxie goes first). Sonnie wears a belly band indoors due to marking behavior and does best with consistent routines. He also has a sensitive stomach, so maintaining the right diet is important for him. Donnie and Roxie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They rely on each other for comfort and security and thrive as a team. In the right home, one that understands senior dogs and appreciates their gentle routines, they will make deeply loyal, loving companions. If Interested in this island duo, please submit an application under either of their profiles. ##2604216##

Story
Meet Honey, a super cute 5-6 month old female German Shepherd mix puppy, currently weighing about 30 lbs! We expect her to grow to a medium/large dog. Honey was saved from an overcrowded kill shelter in east TN. As her name suggests, Honey is a SUPER sweet girl! She is very friendly and loves all people (especially kids!) and other dogs. She has not been cat tested, but we think she would likely do ok with dog savvy cats. She is gentle and loving, and she LOVES running around and playing outside!  She is medically up to date, crate trained, and about 90% housebroken (she is a smarty pants and has learned to ring a bell when she has to go potty). Apply to meet this darling pup today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Story
Meet Ginny, a young adult (approx. 2 years old) spayed female Corgi mix, weighing about 45 lbs!  Ginny is currently in TN and is expected to arrive in CT on 2/21. We are accepting applications on her now!  Ginny is a sweet girl who loves her people, she will happily follow you around and is an excellent cuddler! She also loves car rides and would be thrilled to join you on adventures! While she does ok meeting other dogs, Ginny can be dog selective (she was surrendered by her previous owner due to not getting along with one of the other dogs in the home). She has done well with the other dogs in her TN foster home, however we feel that she would be happiest as an only dog. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats.  Ginny loves people and is a friendly girl but as a young herding breed, we recommend older kids 10+ (as she may try to herd small children). She thrives in a calm home and would love nothing more than to be the center of your attention! Ginny is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special pup today! Story
Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~4 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for almost a year now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet, and neither do we! Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy   Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
