Mason

Mutt Great Dane

Male, adult
Terryville, CT
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mason is a great dane/lab mix. Great Danes can be very temperamental and needs to be closely supervised when introduced to other dogs. He prefers to be the ONLY male dog in the home. Due to his size (90+ lbs) he would do best in a home that does not have small children. Mason behaves extremely well on a leash, is house trained and does not use a kennel. Mason is a retired service animal for PTSD/anxiety. Due to being a companion pet for so long, he requires a good deal of personal attention. He is also very active and would do well with someone who has a fenced in yard or lives an active lifestyle (walking/hiking.

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Emmie was rescued from an unknown situation in the Tennessee area and then transported to CT for an adoption event. She is very timid and skittish. She does not like busy households with small children or loud environments. She does okay with other dogs but will show teeth when she is scared. She would do well as a companion pet for someone who is older OR in a home with someone who has experience working with skittish dogs. Due to her running when she is scared, she will only rehomed to someone with a fenced in yard/dog area. She is fully housebroken, leash trained and does not require a kennel.

Story
We can’t believe Apollo is still looking for his forever home!  Apollo is a very handsome 4 year old Great Dane that is looking for his forever home. Apollo is a very sweet, people oriented pup. He is good with other respectful dogs, he is not overly playful with dogs until he’s more comfortable.  We will not consider homes with kids younger than 12 for Apollo and he cannot live with cats!  Apollo has some basic obedience down and is currently working with a trainer to work on it a bit more. He is working on leash manners as well. He can get a bit excited to say hi to people/other dogs on walks, but he has worked with our trainer and is easily corrected and redirected. Apollo is house broken and crate trained. He would love a fenced yard, as he REALLY enjoys zoomies. Apollo is an energetic pup that loves to run and go for walks and then he is happy to curl up next to you on the couch. We are looking for experienced dog owners for Apollo and will give preference to applications that have previous Great Dane experience.  If you would like to welcome Apollo home, please visit our website and fill out an application.  Astdogrescue.com ##1746461##

Story
Introducing Marlin: A Special German Shepherd in Search of a Patient and Dedicated Family We would like to introduce you to Marlin, a one-year-old German Shepherd who joined our rescue as a puppy along with his siblings. While his siblings have found loving homes, Marlin needed extra attention and support to overcome his under-socialization and fear-reactivity. We have been dedicated to providing him with the care he deserves. Marlin has undergone hundreds of hours of professional training, demonstrating his willingness to learn and grow. While he requires a special individual or family to ensure his continued success, we believe it is entirely possible. Marlin is reliably friendly with other dogs and enjoys playful interactions. However, he is not suitable for living with young children, and he finds chasing cats entertaining, so a home without them would be best. Marlin is housebroken, crate trained, and has received professional obedience training. He will always require ongoing attention and guidance from a patient family willing to work closely with his trainer to facilitate a smooth transition. While he is reliably muzzle trained for safety during outings, Marlin still relishes adventures and exploring new places. He would make an excellent hiking companion. Once Marlin establishes trust, he becomes an unwaveringly loyal and devoted friend. Marlin's forever family will need to continue his training, ensure proper crate usage, and introduce him to new people in a controlled manner. He has made great progress in meeting new individuals and is particularly delighted when tasty treats are involved. As a young dog, Marlin will require commitment from his family to provide the mental stimulation, exercise, and playtime he needs to thrive. We understand that Marlin will require a special someone, but we firmly believe he deserves the opportunity to find his perfect match. If you are interested in welcoming Marlin into your home, please visit our website and fill out an application at astdogrescue.com ##1753097##
