Brody is a loving, playful, and energetic boy. He likes to play fetch, run around outside, and loves to snuggle/be pet. He is very gentle and smart. Well trained and is about 1 and half years old. We are looking for a loving home where he can thrive. Please be aware that he sheds. We are located in CTWe need to give up Brody due to caretakers allergies and we are unable to take care of him with 2 babies in the home. We will have to send him to a shelter if we can’t find him a home, I hope he will be adopted soon. Thank you for your consideration.

Story
Wilbur is not a Spotty Dog.  If you're interested in meeting him, please call Anne 203-219-2663 or email annewilkinson@gmail.com Wilbur is a 70 pound, almost 7-year-old mixed breed neutered male. A dog DNA test listed him as 1/4 each beagle, husky, AmericanStaffordshire terrier and the last quarter was a bit of everything.Wilbur was adopted in December 2019 as a ~4 month old puppy from Companion Pet Rescue (I have contacted them twice about taking Wilbur, with no reply). Due to many life changes and health issues within the family, we can no longer keep him.Wilbur has met other dogs and been indifferent to them. We have aggressive cats that do not want him around but he was curious about them and when he got swatted by one, he backed off but did not try to hurt it., He has met children but has not lived with any. He will probably be fine in a home with another dog or dog savvy cats. Wilbur is incredibly friendly, loves _everyone_, and wants nothing more than to be with his humans as much as possible. If there is a heavy duty chew toy around he’ll be in heaven. He loves walks and chances to sniff around in new places or on car rides. He does well at home alone, although he will need time to adjust in a new home, as he can be anxious. He is crate trained, but is OK home not in his crate, too.  Wilbur is leash trained although he does pull some. He will sit and lay down on command and come if he feels like it or you have a treat. He has been known to “counter surf”. He also is a dog with opinions and if he doesn’t want to do something (get in a new car, have his nails clipped, be groomed at the groomer) it is tough to get him on board! He will sometimes snap when he doesn't want to do something, but only as a warning. I do have to give him an anti-anxiety med to take him to the vet to have his nails clipped. Between West Haven Animal Clinic and ShotVet, he is up to date on his shots and in good health.  Wilbur is an incredibly loving dog who has plenty of moments of playfulness. He will be a great companion for years to come, and I desperately want to find him a better home than the one we have unfortunately been able to give him. ##2763467##

Story
Sadly, Suzie & China's owner had a medical emergency and can no longer care for them and family is not able to take them in.  They are sisters and would prefer to be adopted together.  Suzie is 35 lb black and white 8 years old, China is 25lb white and 8 years old. Sisters who love each other and would love a fenced yard or will also be fine in an apartment. They love other dogs and to socialize. Suzie is not good with cats but they do love small children. They love to go for walks on the beach and to go for hikes. Passionate lovable dogs looking for a stable forever home!  Please contact Joe at joerubino25@yahoo.com or 203-901-9968 ##2768620##

Story
Meet Jack Jack Jack Jack is a 19-month-old Jack Russell Terrier/Yorkie mix looking for a loving forever home filled with patience, affection, adventures, and lots of cuddles. This little guy has the softest all-black coat (with occasional grooming trims to keep him looking handsome!) and a HUGE personality packed into a tiny body. He is playful, energetic, and absolutely loves his toys and trips to the dog park where he can run out all his zoomies. He’s best friends with two of my older dogs (6) & (9) and gets along great with them, he also likes to play with my cat he’s an older grumpy cat (9) even when the cat isn’t interested in his playful energy somehow they still end up playing. One of his favorite things to play with me is hide and seek & he plays tug of war with one of my older dogs, it’s great. Jack Jack is the definition of a cuddle bug. His favorite place to be is in your arms, snuggling his head into your chest or arm while soaking up gentle head scratches until he falls asleep. And when he’s extra happy, his little tongue sticks out in front of his tiny teeth — it’s impossible not to laugh and smile when he does it. He is a very smart dog with so much potential, but due to my busy work schedule when he was younger, he still needs some work on basic commands and training. He would thrive in a home that has the time, patience, and consistency to continue helping him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. One important thing to know about Jack Jack is that he is sensitive to loud yelling and harsh environments. Loud noises can make him nervous or scared, so he truly needs a calm, kind, gentle home where he feels safe, protected, and deeply loved. This decision is not easy because he is such a special little soul. Making this decision has been incredibly hard for me because Jack Jack is deeply loved and such a special part of my life. Unfortunately, due to changes in my schedule and responsibilities, I’m no longer able to give him the time, attention, training, and active lifestyle he truly deserves. Jack Jack is still young, energetic, and full of love, and I know he would thrive in a home where someone can dedicate more time to his adventures, playtime, affection, and continued training. I don’t want him to simply “get by” — I want him to have the happiest life possible. If you think you could be the perfect forever home for Jack Jack, please fill out an application.  Even though Jack Jack is not a Spotty Dog, we are trying to help his owner find the right fit for him ##2741339##

Story
Meet Willie, an adult (approx. 8 years old) neutered male Chihuahua mix, weighing about 12 lbs!  Willie arrived in CT on 5/30. We are accepting applications on him now! Willie can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how he settles in before committing to adoption. Willie is a very sweet, friendly boy who is happiest on your lap and he LOVES to give kisses! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids.  His foster said, "Willie is pretty spry for his age, he loves to run and play with other dogs! He's the sweetest Chihuahua I've ever met. Already opening up and being affectionate after only a few hours." Willie is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2739529##
