Story
Meet Lewis Lewis is the definition of “play hard, love harder.” This handsome Lab mix has a big personality, a big heart, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be your shadow, your cheerleader, and your cuddle buddy, Lewis might just be your guy.Lewis would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can really stretch his legs. He’s strong on leash and gets excited by fast-moving things like cats and cars, so having space to safely run and play is important for him. His absolute favorite pastime? Chasing and pouncing on his beloved Jolly Ball until he’s happily worn out.Lewis has been at the shelter for nearly a year now, and it’s hard to understand why. His distinguished grey muzzle may make him look older, but don’t let that fool you—he’s healthy, energetic, and still full of playful spark. What he really needs is someone willing to look past the grey and see the devoted, joyful companion underneath.Imagine warm afternoons in the yard, Lewis happily tossing his Jolly Ball around, followed by quiet evenings with him curled up beside you, completely content just to be near his person. After so long in the shelter, Lewis deserves a soft place to land and a family to call his own.&#226&#156&#133 Neutered&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinated&#226&#156&#133 Microchipped&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Lewis? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: Sponsored by Mister GooseFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 7, 2026, 1:53 pm

Story
Meet Zeb, a striking male cattle dog with a resilient spirit and a heart that’s learning how to feel safe again Zeb came from a background of abuse, and because of that, he’s looking for a calm, patient, and understanding home where he can continue to heal—both emotionally and physically. He is generally friendly and wants to connect, but he can be unsure in unfamiliar situations. He’ll do best with someone who can read canine body language, respect his boundaries, and help him feel secure at his own pace.Once you’re part of Zeb’s trusted circle, he truly shines. He is a wonderful, playful companion who enjoys engagement, companionship, and having someone he can rely on. Zeb is loyal, intelligent, and deeply rewarding for the right person—someone who understands that dogs with tough pasts often become the most devoted friends. If you have experience, patience, and a quiet home where Zeb can finally feel safe, you may just find an incredible bond waiting for you. &#226&#156&#168Adoption fee covers:&#226&#156&#133 Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinations&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Zeb?Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 7, 2026, 1:53 pm

Story
Meet Our Brave Little Doberman Boy This 8-week-old male Doberman puppy is already showing the confident personality the breed is known for. He’s fearless, curious, and always ready to explore the world, but he also has a sweet side and loves keeping his humans close by. After a good play session, he’s happiest checking in with his people for some reassurance and affection. His foster family has been working hard on crate training and potty training, while also helping him learn what life is like away from his littermates. Like any young puppy, he’s still learning, but he’s a smart boy who is soaking everything up as he grows. He’s currently living as an only child, but he does enjoy the company of another dog. His foster family feels he would probably enjoy and older sister that could teach him the ropes, or he with the right amount of dog friends and socalization could do great as an only dog also. Dobermans are intelligent, driven, and energetic dogs, so we are looking for adopters who understand the breed and are ready to commit to the time, structure, training, and exercise that will help him grow into a well-rounded adult dog. These pups thrive when they have both physical exercise and mental stimulation. His adoption fee is $600, which includes:• His neuter (to be completed by 6 months of age)• All required vaccinations for his first year of lifeIf you’re ready for the adventure of raising a smart, energetic Doberman puppy and helping him become the amazing dog he’s meant to be, he would love to meet you. Story
This is Leo - He is a 7 yr old Catahoula Pitbull Mix. He is the sweetest boy that needs a calm environment and no young kids as young children make him very anxious. I am rehoming him because it’s not fair to him that he has to be separated all the time because we have a 2 yr old that constantly invades his space. He gets along with other non dominant dogs and has no problem with cats. He is fixed and has a calm temperament but loves to play and chase the ball. He has had two knee surgeries to fix a dislocation problem. He should not need any more surgeries but his new owners need to be aware and cautious of his knees. We have had Leo his entire life and hes had a companion the whole time as well so I am hoping he goes to a home with a new furry friend. He is very well mannered and deserves the best home possible. Please text me with any further questions and info about yourself and household

Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a beautiful female German Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a sweet, soulful personality. She can be a little timid when meeting new people or exploring new places, but give her just a little time and you’ll see her blossom. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate and loving nature really shines through.Nani was found wandering as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past. What we do know is that the kind people who found her shared that she did well with their dogs, cats, and kids. Here at the shelter, she’s shown us that while she can be friendly with other dogs, she may be a bit selective about her canine companions. Because of this, we recommend proper introductions and, if you have another dog, a meet-and-greet to make sure it’s a good match.Nani would thrive in a patient, loving home that can help her continue building confidence and feeling safe. With a little reassurance and a lot of love, she’ll be a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a sweet girl who just needs someone to believe in her, Nani might be your perfect match.
