Here's what you need to know about me:I need a family experienced with my breed.I have some behaviors and preferences that are typical for my breed and would do best with a family who understands my needs.I'm an active dog! I would love to go home with a family who can help me burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures.I may jump and play rough. I don't mean to, I just get really excited when I play! It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me. I've been in the shelter longer than most and my adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me.My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them: Pappy has blossomed into an affectionate companion who loves giving enthusiastic kisses, snuggling, and of course receiving belly rubs. He is crate-trained (though he does well uncrated at our house), and would thrive in a home without any other animals. He's quite content napping until you're ready to do his favorite things like going for a car ride or playing ball! He adorably loves being tucked into his bed with his blanket.Pappy is very intelligent and enjoys playing games to sniff out his treats. He's an all-star athlete who will dive for any and every ball you ever throw! He is a fair-weather dog who can take or leave a walk depending upon the precipitation outside. Pappy is an absolute joy to be around and is looking for a best friend to spend his days with. It's recommended I meet any kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I need to be the only pet. I'm not comfortable sharing my space or my stuff with other animals. I prefer to be the center of attention!I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email caninefoster@southwesthumane.org Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 50 Age: 7yrs 4mths 2wks

Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home. Here's what you need to know about me:I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor. My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them: Townsend is such a good boy!! He is loving, smart, and handsome! What else could you want in a new best friend 😊. Townsend knows sit and loves all the classic dog activities - going for walks, sniffing, playing with toys, wrestling with dog friends (so far, he hasn't met a dog he doesn't like) and cuddling his person on the couch. Townsend is food motivated, which makes him easy to train, and he is great at catching treats in his mouth, which makes him fun! Townsend likes car rides and is house trained. Townsend would benefit from slow, cheese filled introductions to new people, but once he decides you're safe you will be rewarded with a wonderful new bestie. Townsend is a young chap with his whole life ahead of him and he would love to go home with a family who can help him burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures but Townsend is also happy to simply hang out and snuggle on the couch. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along. I have been doing well with kids/toddlers in foster.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please speak to an adoption counselor.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email caninefoster@southwesthumane.org. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 53 Age: 2yrs 1mths 0wks
