Story
Meet Zeb,Zeb is a sweet, affectionate Cattle Dog with a playful side and a heart full of love. He enjoys spending time with his people, but he’s also happy to romp around and have some fun—especially if he has a canine buddy to share it with. Zeb gets along well with other dogs and would likely thrive with an active companion who can match his playful energy. While Zeb is a happy, friendly guy, he comes from a difficult past and is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can feel safe and secure. He doesn’t need perfection—just someone willing to give him time, consistency, and kindness as he settles in and builds trust.Zeb would do best in a home that can offer both love and structure, along with opportunities for play and companionship. With the right environment, he’ll reward you with loyalty, affection, and plenty of tail wags.If you’re looking for a dog who can be both your playful sidekick and your steady, loving companion, Zeb might be the perfect addition to your home.Adoption fee covers:&#226&#156&#133 Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinations&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Zeb?Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 18, 2026, 6:55 am

Story
Meet Lewis,Lewis is a 6-year-old Lab mix who proves that age is just a number! While he may have a little gray on his muzzle, this handsome guy still has plenty of energy and a playful spirit. One of his absolute favorite things in the world is his beloved Jolly Ball—he could happily spend hours chasing, carrying, and showing it off.On leash, Lewis is a strong boy and will need a confident handler who can manage his enthusiasm—especially since he has a tendency to chase moving things like cats and even cars. He’ll benefit from a large fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs.Lewis also has a habit of mounting, which means he’s not a good fit for homes with other pets or small children. Because of this, he’s best suited for an experienced, adult-only home that can provide clear boundaries and consistency.Despite these challenges, Lewis is a fun-loving, loyal companion who will thrive with the right person. With adults, Lewis is loving, affectionate, and a joy to have around. If you have the space, experience, and patience to guide him, he’ll reward you with plenty of playtime, personality, and devotion.✅ Neutered✅ Vaccinated✅ Microchipped✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Lewis? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: Sponsored by Mister GooseFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 24, 2026, 6:38 am

Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST! PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP AT THE SHELTER TO MEET HIM. HE IS NOT AT THE SHELTER   MEET Apollo  also responds to Paul. How cuuute.    Apollo is a good young boy.  His only fault is his energy... his family sort of ended up with him. They feel bad. But they have realized he deserves more than they can give. He is destructive in home when not properly excercised, and hes a jumper, they have a kid and hes too much with the kid. They have tried to work with him, but have realized that they are not the right fit. All of this is fixable and trainable with the right person or family. Hes just young and needs consistency and training    Here's what they answered to my questions:    "Apollo nickname Paul (he responds to both)  Kind of Leash Trained (we dont walk him as much as he needs) Crate Trained No allergies that we know of Hes ok in the car, sometimes throws up He is ok alone in a crate if nothing is around him but he did eat the rug/plastic at the bottom of the crate Recall only when said a couple times but not in a open space maybe like a backyard No idea about cats or dogs ( except his sibling dog he is fine with) We got him from one of my husband friends, he is half lab half heeler   And no rehoming fee we just want him to go to a really good home."    He is 1.5 yrs old. Black Lab/ Heeler. Neutered. And UTD on shots.   March 7, 2026, 1:53 pm

Meet Beau! Beau is an 8-year-old purebred Black Labrador with a heart as big as his smile. This handsome boy has spent his life as a loved family companion and has lived happily with another dog and with children, making him a wonderful choice for a family setting. Beau is in great health, fully potty trained, and current on all of his vaccinations. Like a true Lab, he lives for playtime — especially when a tennis ball is involved! If you enjoy throwing a ball and watching a happy pup bound after it, Beau will be your perfect partner. While he hasn’t had much exposure to cats, Beau has proven himself to be friendly, social, and well-mannered with people and other dogs. He’s at a lovely stage in life where he still enjoys activity but also appreciates relaxing with his people. &#226&#156&#168 Courtesy Post: This is a courtesy listing. Story
Meet Cannon (Ball) True to his name, Cannon is a high-energy, fearless Frenchie/Chow Chow mix who lives life at full speed. This boy doesn’t just play—he launches. Whether it’s zoomies in the yard or boldly soaring through the air to wrestle with a dog four times his size, Cannon brings enthusiasm, athleticism, and a whole lot of fun to everything he does.Cannon thrives on rough-and-tumble play and would be happiest in a home with another dog who can match his energy and play style. A confident canine buddy would be his dream come true. Because of his exuberant and sometimes boisterous play, Cannon may be a bit too much for a home with small children or cats. After he’s burned off his energy, Cannon is all heart—ready to relax and recharge before his next round of play. If you’re looking for a bold, playful companion with a big personality and even bigger hops, Cannon is ready to blast his way into your life. Story
Meet Flip — A big-hearted Newfoundland Chow mix with an even bigger capacity for love.Flip is a sweet, gentle boy who adores attention and bonds deeply with his people. If you sit down, he’ll happily roll over and ask for his favorite thing in the world: belly rubs. He’s affectionate, loyal, and thrives on being close to his humans, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a true best friend.Flip does great with kids and other dogs, and he’d especially love having a canine buddy to keep him company. Because he forms such strong attachments, Flip experiences separation anxiety when left alone and would do best in a home where someone works from home, is around most of the day, and/or has another dog for companionship. He can be a little too rambunctious for cats, since he sees them as playmates too. Even if they have no desire to be. If you’re looking for a loving, devoted dog who will return your affection tenfold and be happiest right by your side, Flip may be the perfect match. He’s ready to give his whole heart to the right home — belly rubs included.
